Liriel is Ariel's and Faen's slave, of unknown origins. She has skin like a light elf, yet eyes of a drow. She attached herself to Ariel and Faen after her previous master, who attempted to rob the girls, was killed by a wolf under Faen's empathic control. She has quite an appetite for mushroom beer and one of her first actions as the pair's slave is to offer to guide them in payment for a beer. Liriel is a weird slave, as she seems to be able to get away with anything without getting punished. Ariel tries to be strict with her, but Liriel quickly goes back to her carefree trickster ways.

"You are in the presence of Queen Blueberry the Third!"
- to Rik about being placed in a bag if she causes to much trouble.

Relations:
Ariel Val'Sarghress - 'master'
Faen Val'Sullisin'rune- 'master'

Liriel's Origin
In the conclusion of Longest Wait it was revealed that Liriel is Ragini, a young slave of the Vel'Sharen. As the lone survivor of the massacre on the tower, aside from Val'Sharess Diva'ratrika herself, Ragini was instrumental in the escape of Diva from the throne room after the Val'Sharess became trapped by her own daughters.

Using a technique not unlike that of the Sharess, Diva detached her aura from her body and planted it within Ragini who awaited her mistress deep within a mushroom forest far from the city. The end result of the ordeal was that Ragini's hair and skin were changed by the presence of Diva's aura in a fashion similar to a powerful demonic aura transforming its host.

It is unknown what happened between Liriel's "conception" and the day she met Ariel Val'Sarghress and Faen Val'Sullisin'rune. The strange slave's inner monologue hints that she has changed masters before the one Ariel's wolf killed. The cause of Liriel's headaches is revealed to be a side-effect of Diva's memories and desires on Liriel (Ragini). It seems she is quite honest that "remaining permanently drunk," as she states it within Chapter 6, keeps these headaches at bay and prevents Diva from taking over completely.

As of Chapter 12, Liriel's beer supply was destroyed by a projectile launched by the Duergar during an attack on the Highland Raider caravan. What this could imply has yet to be seen.
