Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

Well its adult for extreme dislike. I am very perticular when it comes to my more realistic works. and i must say i thnk this one sucks....makes me sad.....but i love the nose. So i shall keep it.

Yes...if you peeked and guessed that i was useing a Advent children pic as my ref. pic you are correct.

just wanted to say hi and thanks for suggesting this site to me, I'm so excited to try it out when I have time!

Pitdragon @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 9:07 PM
Like where this is going. I am determined to have a more "realistic" art style, and this looks similar to some of my stepping-stone pics for that, where I too have used some FF CG to help. (yah, I know my Oekaki work looks like I'm in 6th grade all over again ^_^; ). It looks like you're gonna have some nifty cloud/fog/steam to the left there. I wanna see how that turns out too!

BreeWinde @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 7:41 PM
His eyes look wonderful, hun. I would suggest blurring the nose a little, or something though, because you have so many smooth lines, and then the nose is so sharp, it throws a lot of the picture off. Other then that, great job. <3

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:28 PM

Pretty nice pic of Seshoumaru so far! I'm sure Lyserg's going to like it when it'll be done! XD

Can I comment now? Please? Pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease????? OK, well I guess that settles it. You ROCK. Beautiful job on this so far, his nose and eyes and everything, just gorgeous shading so far. I've been watching eagerly to see how this turns out... KEEP GOING!!!!

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:52 PM
Sesshomaru ^^ *dances* well, i love this style... it looks kinda realistic

cant wait to see it done ^^ finish soon XD

Olsie @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 9:12 PM
Oh neat; I had no Idea it would morph into him :) I can wait to see how you draw in the mouth for him; it aughta be pretty indeed o-o

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 5:20 PM
This looks really good. The soft colouring suits him (especially with this pose). I don't know what Advent Children pic you used for this, as it doen't look familiar to me. Very nicely done! ^^

Darkrose @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 10:29 PM
Woah! It completely changed! That's kind of a trip... still love the shading on the nose, though. His eyes could be a bit darker (the whites are never really white, you know) if you're going for a purely realistic look, but I really like this. Kinda thew me that the whole thing up and changed, though... heheh.

Kamourian King @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 12:04 PM
awww it changed..... i liked the other one better... theres something about this one that setts me off >>

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:41 PM
Hey, I'm from your CC art class aka pictionary! I don't know if you want people commenting on this yet, let me know when you do cause I've got stuff to say!

ChronosKit @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 5:38 AM
Wow! I watched the animation of this, and found it fascinating how you switched the picture! Kudos!~ The little crescent on his forehead could be a tad bit bigger though,a nd I love his eyes, although I agree that if you are going for a realism effect that you should darken the whites of the eyes a bit. Also, his ear looks like it could take a tad bit more shading. I love his cheek markings, and the pouty looking bottom lip!

celestial crou @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 7:22 AM
Starisan- *HUGS* HELLO!!!!! i was getting worried that i would never hear from you again. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your here now!

Yes comment away. I hate how this turned out. but i would love to hear improvement suggestions. Its not my "drawing style". (XD i have a drawing style now! Recently devoloped you see) But you cant say you suck at something if you only did it a few times. wait until you did something 100 times before you say you suck at it. then practive until 1000. If no improvement. then you really do suck at it and you should probibly quit wasting your time....LOL

Starisan @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 5:05 PM
yipee! well I watched the animation and I did like the start that you had on the original (sorry I know you'v heard that a few times), but I like this one too. The expression is great, pouty lip and all. He looks annoyed as he usually would be but it also seems like he's trying to be serious when he really wants to laugh. I magine him LOLing....You really captured his likeness well. The pelt is especially good and I see some really good highlights (smiles). The eyes are very effective too (they look round) but I would have to agree that the whites might be a little darker. I can't believe you only been using the mouse for a little while, your soo good. Good job!

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:35 AM
lol Well Crou, had this been with actual tangible paint...I'm sure you would have been MUCH happier with it. I won't bother critiquing this...since...lol You already know exactly what I'd point out and all that, and I'm sure it's the same stuff that you're not happy with. But...I will say this, you're brave to attempt even moderate realism with an oekaki applet...lol Then again...I'm am "realistically challenged" when it comes to people. lol

Bah. This could have been better in many ways. I had to rush the background because my pinky started hurting REALLY bad...and I attempt to draw with a tablet/pen. Comment, criticisms, suggestions, anything helps ^.^

Tigerhawk @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:55 AM
your moon came out wonderfully. Your shading came out pretty good but you should have also shaded in her hair too ^^ You did a great job on this. Can't wait to see more of your artworks.

Totenmaske @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 8:17 AM
Welcome to Drowkaki! Well personally I don't like to see someone say 'they rushed' a certain segment of an image, because that almost comes across as if they didn't put their best into their post. But you are new, and I personally see some nice little details in this image that suggest that you are endeavoring to improve ? so I?ll do my best to point out what I like and think needs to improved upon. But keep in mind that you must also comment on other individuals works after you post an image I prefer you to comment on 0 images, for each post ? though this is taxing ? try for at least five though. And since this is your first post on the board, try to limit yourself ? don?t want you to start posting an image one after another ? that pushes other artists work down.

But anyway I don?t want to seem like I?m berating you, just have to state that before I continue ;3 ? colouring seems to be okay, there is some real issues though with the background, it does come across rather rushed, and that hurts the image overall. The moon has the touch of texture and the stars to me could have been a little refined.., even though it is acceptable, it could have been a little better. I personally like the slight texturing effect that was brought about through the burning (believe that is what you used) for the segment of the moon on the left side of the canvas.

Character wise, very nice drow, the bit I have trouble with though, is her right arm (on the left side of the canvas) it doesn?t seem to be ?that attached? to the body, and the hand seems too flat considering, The facial expression is interesting and in the end is pleasing, the hair is a little too clumpy ? but I like it, as well as the little use of purple in the hairline, but it doesn?t seem to work as well in the pony tail. The main issue I have with the character is the use of a rather thick line art, what you could try is leaving your line art at 1x and using a lighter pressure, to get the sense of pencil work, play around and you may find an interesting effect being born with the applications you use.

The colouring of the fabric is pleasing though, I like the way you have a nice sense of shear fabric around her shoulders, and to be truthful if you put a little more shading or rather varying colours to show the sense of shadow and light on the character overall you could have brought more depth to her, not to mention the image. The belt is a little weak in details, but this is more of a result of thick line art etc. Truthfully the image is fine for a first post, but I would like you to practice a little with the colouring and the line art before posting again, if you want I can help guiding you to downloading PaintBBS so you could use it offline to sharpen up your skill with the application. I?m not saying ?don?t post,? just thinking practice before next major post would help your growing talent exceptionally. Don?t forget to comment on others btw, I do look forward to future pieces by you. Very promising expression and setup so far ? oh don?t forget if you want to retouch an image you have to use Animation!

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 8:45 AM
I actually kind of like the background. It's much better than if you would have left it all one solid colour, anyway. Though I agree the stars are kind of off. If you're doing something in the five-point style, it should probably remain consistant, otherwise do them like you see real stars. Also, it's kind of common to get out of drawing hands by placing them behind the back and such, but it isn't a very natural pose unless she's hiding something, and it won't help you get much practise to improve. Your basic anatomy and shading are pretty good ^^ I like how you've used solids and watercolours, though a few more colours in certain places would certainly add more dimension. Also, the line of the sheer fabric that's behind her could be thinner and/or slightly distorted in some way (dotted), to help illustrate the face that it's transparent; it looks a little awkward as it is.
Anyhow, an overall nice image ^^ I like the childish storybook-illustration feel to it.

Rigga Mortis @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:19 PM
She's cute, and that's an interesting outfit. Toten's already mentioned it, but yes, her right arm does look a little odd. The background is pretty, especially the moon; it has a glowy-effect that I find pleasing, and it's nice to see that you carried that out on the rest of the picture, highlighting her clothing accordingly. :D Very nice hair, too, the purple is soft and contrasts to her outfit.

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 10:15 PM
Ooh, nifty! I like the sheer effect you've got on her shawl thing, very cute. I also like how the background looks like a cloth backdrop like for photography and stuff. Now for some critique: the lines look a little thick and out of place with that delicate watercolor shading you've got. Maybe you could try making the lines thinner, or even in watercolor to smooth the look of the picture out a little bit. Other than that, the anatomy looks pretty sound, detil is a little lacking (mostly because of the overwhelming black lines) but overall it looks pretty good. So welcome and keep going!

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:30 PM
ahh rushing is a bad habit that i know well hehe try to stay outta rushing things lol, i really like the outfit.

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:53 PM

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 5:17 PM

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 7:19 AM
Is she sitting on the moon? YOur pic has alot of potential.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:31 AM
Well, I'm going to keep this short as I have a bad habit of rambling on about nothing in particular in my comments. lol There are two things that I think would improve your art, and probably result in a happy artist panda (yes yes...this means you). First of all...the bezier tool. The best tool ever created...with the exception of maybe 'shadeoff'...blur tool. Bezier makes lines SO much smoother. Even though I have a tablet I *still* rely heavily on the bezier. Why? Well I'll tell you why, it's a SEXY TOOL that's why. lol Ok...so that second thing. Well, thinner lineart when you're trying to get that much character into that little space. If you're doing a close up and there's not a lot of detail, use thick lines if you want, that's all fine and good. But if you're doing a partial body shot like this one, thinner lineart really tends to make the character seem cleaner overall, and the details will really stand out. You seem to have a good understanding of how the applets work already though...and so...ZEES IS GOOD!! lol God damn I need to start sleeping more...bah, just take what I've said as advice, not as "you must draw zees way".

Wow. This came out really nice. I like the colors you used. The perspective is awesome -- the lighting just makes it look cooler. XD Great texturing, as well. *Pets the cloak.* XB The only thing I'd really change is the sky. It looks a little.. I dunno. Bare. Maybe add a few clouds. The stars also look a little rushed. Other than that, it's really great. ^^

ChronosKit @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:42 AM
Mwuahahaha! *grabs socked feet* So cool!

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 8:51 AM
Awesome perspective. For some reason the legs really stick out to me. It seems like they're the most difficult part to draw when doing an image with such an angle, but you've done them masterfully. The folds in all the bits of clothing are really good too - again, I noticed the legs first, particularly around the knees, but the cape as well, especially how the fuzzy bit's been shaded.
I'd be a little afraid if that came down my chimney though.

Rigga Mortis @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:16 PM
Windyyy. Your watercolours are so awesome. The folding and shading on that cape is so wonderful and I like studying it. :D Same with those...frost-curls (?) around his feet. That is a very interesnt and awkward-looking perspective to draw from, but I think you pulled it off perfectly. His eyes and expression are creepy, fitting really well with this image, and I like how his hand is supporting the bag. :D Really well-done, Windy.

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:31 PM

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 7:24 AM
Sweet! IThis definatly sets a different mood to the norm of christmas. Kinda like futurama and the santa-bot. Lol. then again i have this nightmare before christmas tune stuck in my mind. I like the diffferent perspective. But i would have liked to have seen a more toned sky.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:23 AM
Can I just say...I love the perspective on this one? The whole bottom of the feet up is just...SO COOL!! Now...I'm assuming he's standing on the equivalent of a skylight, and what has otherwise been called 'fur' is really the frost on said skylight. The reds in the cape are really nice, they really show a nice folding of the fabric where it's gathered around the neck. The white edging...well...the blue used on it certainly makes it look textured. Very interesting look. I really like it...just like I like those green pants. Seriously...I want a pair of pants in THAT color green now. In addition to being a gorgeous pair of pants...the shading does that textured thing. I really like how you do that, it just makes the clothing on the characters seem more real. Same thing with the shirt, more of that nifty texturing. Awesome contribution to the secret santa project Windy. It's very nice! It makes me smile like a not so sad panda! XD!!

I was planning to do her Rainbow Angel, but the board got erased and so I had no reference anymore. Soooo, I just took what I remembered of her angel and kinda did a "remix" of it.

So now it's Rainbow Angel Remix!

Yaaay more Queen_Godzilla stuff! :D Mm, rainbow goodness...I love how her hair swirls down to the ground and is 'colouring' the world below. That is creative and beautiful at the same time. :3 Lovely details to the tree-tops and stream, and those puffy-soft clouds! Onto the angel girl herself, she has such a cuuuute expression. I've always admired the way you do faces, and this is no exception. The lips, the eyes, the nose---it's all perfect. That colourful wing-belt is an awesome detail. This is wonderful.

Jennifer @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 12:38 AM
This is absolutely beautiful. What a bright and wonderful Secret Santa gift! I love what you did with this. The drab-ish looking background really makes the rainbow fairy stand out. I love how her long, multicolored hair twists down through the clouds like an actual rainbow.

Basil @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:59 PM
She reminds me of Rainbow Brite! :3 I love the colors- They're gorgeous. The wing on her belt(?) is extremely eyecatching and bright. I love the way, as well, that the hair is sort of spiralling down towards the earth at the top of the picture. (I'm assuming that was the intended effect, but of course it could just be the narrowing of her hair at the end. ^_^;;) The shading is nice- Very soft. and the background is done really nicely! Great picture! Bravo!

windblade @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:29 PM
strange, I could have sworn I commented on this pic... I think the way you drew her hair is extremely original, all spiralling down to the earth! I love the rainbow wings on her clothes (belt? skirt?) and her happy expression!

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:33 PM

I like the concept too; Black and white morphing into color for a landscape. Very creative. ^___^

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 4:42 PM
This is gorgeous!!! The rainbow in the upper-right corner (how it looks so solid, yet so bright) and the winged underwear are my favourite pieces of this picture. It reminds me (because of the flowing rainbow hair, and the up-in-the-clouds-ness) of Thundara the bird/goddess of the rainforest from the Aladdin TV cartoon. *giggles*

Again, beautiful! ^^

Kaiera @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:10 PM
oh so pretty! Beautiful colors. Love it. Fills me with happy thoughts! Anyway, I adore how the picture goes from a dull, black and white up to the angel, who is filled with vibrant color. For some reason, it seems to me that the picture goes from more realistic to cartoonish in the same manner. Excellent job at portraying this, it looks as if she gives life to the world below. Awesome job! -thumbs up!-

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:46 PM
Yeah! I love this one. Not only does it have great detail but it has wonderful colors. It reminds me of Iris, the greek goddess of the rainbow. She has a beautiful face and lovely bangs. I think the perspective as the hair goes down is very good. I like unique angles like this. The feathures on her skirt(?) are great. The eyes are also very well done.

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 12:50 AM

Wow. This is a definately colorful pic. I love the way you left the BG grey so it wasnt such a shock of color. I really apreciate it. LOL. This is a woderful example of an arial view. i love the variying thicknesses in the lines outlinging the hair and girl herself. And i must ask. You have a tablet? or did you draw this correctly and then flipped it upsidedown.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:18 AM
Ooh, I remember the original for this character on the board before the worm hit. I have to say, going about the coloring of the background as you did...well that's damn creative. The end of her rainbow hair bestowing color to an other wise greyscale world. Very nice. Everything about her is just surreal looking in comparison. For instance, the other clouds are bland and grey, while the ones that come into contact with either her or her hair are a little more 'fluffy' looking, and have that awesome blue shading to them. Very nice. The thicker lines as an outlining of sorts...well that's personally one of my favorite things about this piece. But the perspective certainly doesn't hurt. Now to the figure herself. First of all...I LOVE THAT YOU ALWAYS SHOW LIPS!!! lol The smile she's got just seems to fit her. The purples in her shirt show just awesome depth. VERY nice. There is however one thing that bothers me. It's the wings at her waist. The way the rainbow feathers are shaded makes them look round. It seems there are a few light sources on them as well. Other than that, I really like this piece. You've got some talent with the colors let me just say that. lol Awesome piece for the secret santa...well, I'm going to call it "project".

Chime @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 6:13 PM
Tha~ank you so much Godzilla ^o^
I love it, its so colorful and boo~otiful *^*
Like everyone else, I love the way the "rainbow" is coloring the world. I love what you did with the hair, I never even thought of that when I drew her the first time ^________^
I especially like the way you colored the whole picture. The shading is light and realistic, in my eyes. The linework, also, is fabulous.

Thanks soooooo much!!!

Rigga Mortis @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 10:59 PM
That is such a perfectly comical expression and pose...the eyes! XD I've always adored that effect, the bigger pupil and the smaller one. That is some crazy hair and goggles, but not in a bad way, and his coat has a neat design.

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 1:15 AM
heheh... it is a priceless expression. I really like that pattern you used on the right side of his shirt, that's really nifty. It looks a litle plain... like there's not enough detail to warrent the size of the canvas or something. I think it would look really nifty as a little avatar or something, which is something you can already do by just changing the size when you save it. It is totally nifty...

Kage Kitsune @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 2:00 AM

He looks phsyco

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 8:57 AM
Mm o_o scary. His shirt does have a cool pattern though. I'd wear it. Only thing I can see so far is that the little shines on his goggles are all at different angles - very distracting. Though I do like that one on the right =3 as odd as it makes me feel for liking one specific highlight on some goggles.

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 10:18 PM
DOH! I need to stop being such a dolt... ok, you rock. Sorry, not plain, very cool. Me likeis the shading... I'll go hide in my hole now <{T.T}>

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:48 PM
This is an awesome expression! I watched the animation and I want to say great job. I didn't realize how many layers of sublte shading it took to get those shadows as right as they are. Keep up the good work!

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 7:32 AM
wow. Mass of color. and a very funny pose. It makes me think of a character right after they get hit really hard and get thrown in the sky. or some such anime nonsence. I like the use of color and the shading you've done. and the highlighting. Even though its a little chibi-ish you still added detail. And thats quite the action bg.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:11 AM
lol I love the chibi-esque quality of the whole figure. lol But...and this could just be be here, but that coat thing he's wearing...it makes me think of those nylon windbreakers joggers are overly fond of wearing. Then again...maybe that's just me. lol I love the shading and highlighting, it's all so textured looking. That's just nifty. That's right...I said it...NIFTY!! lol In this case of extreme expression, the thick lines REALLY do this a lot of justice. Very good picture...and that orange and yellow background just adds so much to the crazy expression. lol Damn I love this one, I do I do!

kyokurrychan @ Sunday, January 30th 2005, 5:01 PM
awesome expression. quite evil @_@

Queen_Godzilla @ Sunday, February 6th 2005, 3:16 AM
XD ... I like this. It really is something that can't quite be duplicated.

I like the way the shadows and highlights are utilized. Y'know, that kind of scratchy coloration you used everywhere. I dunno. It just made it feel more organic.

Then, of course, there's the expression. That sort of >:D thing going on there. I dunno. The kooky way the eyes look and the cartoony mouth and expression make me happy. It's pretty freaky.

Nice details too -- the goggles, the eyes, hair, jacket, ear shape, etc. It all works together really well. Heh.

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:17 AM
hmm... interesting... so the blonde one is a vampire and the red-haired one is about to become dinner? Heheh... Nice shading on his thigh there, I'd think that gloss effect would be other places too, like his shoulder and cheeks... other than that, great use of shading and the action pannels really tell a story. The position of the characters is a litle... awkward... for my tastes. But then again, I've never been a big fan of yaoi. Still nicely done, though!

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 9:09 AM
Hmm vampires ^-^; The one thing that keeps distracting me is the random tan bits that I know are parts belonging to the blond one, but I cant figure out what parts they are, or what position would ever allow him to bend in that way. Also, the shading on the - sheets, I'm assuming - is different from that of what's on the flesh, and sometimes it's good to stay consistant with a style in a piece unless there's an effect you're trying to pull off. Also, the background is a little blank. If they're in a bedroom, there would be something around them, a nightstand or pictures or something of the sort.
Anyhow, I really like the shading and highlights on the hair, and I like the way you draw eyes. Also, the vampire's teeth look pretty cool in that small panel on the left ^^

Rigga Mortis @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:22 PM
Ah, vampires...nice facial-shapes. The mouth of the red-haired one, and his eyebrow, look a little strange, but nothing too bad. I like how the blonde one is just peeking out from behind. X3 The blankets have some good folding and shading, and the highlihts on their skin is perfect.

ChronosKit @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 11:13 PM

Awesome starry blackground! Mm. Onto the guy, he has some neat wings, and his hair is nice and shiny. I like his shirt, but maybe too much folding? Hmm. Either way, you did a great job shading and highlighting with this. The line-art and drawing style is nice, too.

Olsie @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 7:25 PM
You are getting alot better to tell you that much!
The only thing that looks a wee bit funky is the roof; it doesn't have the flat look; you'd have to play with the shading for that ^_^
Is he a 600th random? xD or one of your named dudes?

I gotta draw something soon on oekaki >>;;;

Kaiera @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 7:47 PM
Olsie>> Yes.....you need to do an oekaki you bad person you xP I agree that the roof looks kinda....not roof-ish. It's probably due to the fact that I did this just before bed. Beware the late-night oekakis. ((by the by, he does have a name....Metratron...I've had him for a while, but I don't draw him alot))

Sephie Strife @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 10:19 PM
O_O Shiny... halo.... shiny......
OMG, the wings look so great. I really love the shading, especially on the shirt and the skin. Sooo neat.
I really like those bushes in the background, too! X3 Great job, that pic is awesome!!

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 1:22 AM
it's a very cute angel, I 'specially like the glowy halo. Great attention to the lighting on it, too... I love how it reflects on his hair and shoulder, and how the lighting is all soft and stuff.
Ready for some comment? I really like this piece. The composition is good (paying attention to the rule of thirds and such, which is important in my book) and the picture is well drawn, with stylized but sound shading and beautiful lineart. Now here's something I think you could work on that would be cool: look at some nightscapes and notice the color change the moonlight has on things. Things that would in bright daylight be one color take on a blueish or paler hue that can be quite striking. I think that if you're into doing night scenes, that might be a nifty effect to try out. Just a suggestion! I still really like what youv'e done here, just as is. I wouldn't suggest changing it.
One tip that might help is the stars.. try varying not only the size (like I see you've done) but also the translucence. That'll help make smaller stars look further away, and provide the illusion of an exceptionally clear night.
That's all I've got for ya! This really is a fantastic image... kudos.

Queen_Godzilla @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 5:13 AM
Yeah, he does kinda look like Dark. Must be the purple hair and black wings.

The thing that caught my eye was the halo. It's the brightest thing in the picture, even brighter than the moon. It's just making my eye catch.

My critique would be the shading/highlighting job. It looks a bit rushed in this piece. (And, I can see the stars through the bushes. Oops XD.)

ChronosKit @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:45 AM
I lurve the hair and the wings *steals halo and runs*

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 9:03 AM
I really like the stars, and the lineart is fairly neat. The way the tops of the trees are transparent is really cool, since most people don't consider that there would be bits where stars would shine through in real trees. I really like your shading style as well, though it looks a bit messy in just a few places on his wings (the tips mainly.) Also, his arms look a little unnaturally straight. Really that's about the only critique I have ^^ Everything else looks pretty good

BreeWinde @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 9:03 PM

i like the hair. its very neon-ish. the black wings are neat. And the clothing and body are nicly drawn and highlighted. and shaded. Though i thnk more shading is in order because its night.

Chime @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 6:30 PM
I dont know why, but something about the expression bothers me. It just seems so out of place in the dark colors and starry sky. =X I dont mean to be a nit-picker, Im just saying.

Your clothing looks fabulous =) On the sleeve, it almost feels as if I could poke it and it would move O_o
I also like the bangles/bracers - they are completely colorless except the shine. Nice touch.

Then - the sky looks great. Its not just a solid color, but a series of blues that add realism to it. The moon should be clearer around the actual edges, for it looks like a circular cloud hanging there.

All-in-all great picture =)

Manical grin much? Not that it's a bad thing, of course. That Dane looks just wonderful, the details on the muzzle is really awesome. It's so cute, too, especially it's expression---it looks like something off-image has captured it's attention! The girl (Harlequin, I assume?) has a neat hat, and I like the way her hair falls. That background is rather intriguing, I want to see how it's coloured and shaded. :D

Watching the animation - I notice that you seemed to be in a slight slump before settling upon this image. Personally I think this looks rather good so far ? simply because it is a rough of the line art before you begin on the actual refinement. Now that being said, I have to say that the perspective is a little off in the terms of the floor (it being a rather rough background, I believe you were planning to refine that to look better anyway). But overall I like the whole idea that you are planning with this image ? the facial expression is actually more pleasing to me than the other characters you were going through before settling on this idea. The ear we see seems to be a little odd, prospectively that is (on the left side of the canvas). Other than that wonderful work so far ? really can?t say anymore other than I hope you get to finish this!

Skittles-chan @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 5:38 AM
I agree that the perspective with the floor and such might be a little off, but not by very much. With sketches it's a little hard to tell how the lineart's going to turn out, but one other thing I noticed is that his neck seems a little too small. Of course, I have no idea exactly where you were planning to put the lines, but it looks a little off.
Anyhow, I like the face so far ^-^ The ears are really well done

I really like the sepia tones! The wood floor looks so real! Nice and antique looking - including the costume designs. Awesome! ^^
To make the picture even BETTER, you could have continued on further to shading the characters and objects in the foreground with some more browns.

Seriously an excellent piece - keep it up!

They're both cute, and for some reason I really like their facial structures. It might just be the shading, but it doesn't seem like you get to see many such realistically shaped faces. Kale's scales really do look impressive, and the hair is pretty cool too ^^ Their expressions are nice as well, and for some reason I'm really liking the way you did eyes in this image.

Gah, wow. They seem to have their proper facial structures (i.e., Ike is rather long-faced like a proper shoujo bishounen dude.) I'm really, really glad you didn't overdo the Christmas stuff in here. Just a touch here and there that isn't really that noticeable. They're just so both well-colored and well-proportioned... and they look so much like themselves... and OH, the coloring *_* And... damn. I've ran out of things to say.

I wanted a challenge. My last picture, people said "you could have used a more dynamic pose" ... Well, I know I'm not the best at poses - in fact I'm pretty terrible. So I sat on that idea for a bit. Kern talked to me on ICQ. That's a rareity. He said, for a dynamic pose I should try something from a different angle, from above or underneath - so I thought I'd try underneath. I asked of what, he said of someone looking up. So... This elf guy isn't exactly looking up, more like leaning over and looking straight forward, but this was the pose I had in mind. It's animated, so you can se how I did this. It's not bad, but it's not the best either.

Comments and critiques please. Thanks!

AnimeCanuck @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 4:18 AM
Hmm... Now that I think about it... I'm surprised this only took me 45 minutes. It felt a lot longer to me. Wow. Sarah (someone I know in person) is right! I do draw fast. *blink blink* Does anyone have any opinions as to whether drawing faster or slower is better and why? (just out of curiousity)

Skittles-chan @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 4:29 AM
This is pretty good for such an extreme perspective. The shoulders are a little off, however, too low I think, and the face could use just a bit more work. The hair looks pretty good, too, so does the chest and stomach.
As for spending time on drawing, it varies from person to person. I know someone who can draw a picture just as well in an hour where the same exact picture might take someone else five or six hours. If you know that something looks very wrong, then keep working on it, or if you know how to apply more detail, then do it. The amount of time spent on a picture isn't a very good way to measure its quality.

Rigga Mortis @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:16 AM
Everything I could say has been said, I think. You did a good try and poses, though. I'm personally too gutless to branch out yet. The shoes are neat, I like the blues you used for them. :D

Totenmaske @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 6:14 AM
Well personally, drawing slower allows me to actually keep track of what is important in the image, what I want to get across in details as well as overall feeling in the final result. If you draw too fast, you tend to leave out all the details you wanted to get across - there are those that are fast artist of course, who get the point out rather quickly in their images - but I'm sure they will be the first to say, to bring quality to a piece, you must take your time and work on an image until you are completely positive that you have finished what you personally are capable of doing.

In this image, it seems you have been rather daring in positioning, though in the end one can say you may be practically mooning your audience. Though I could always suggest we are breaking the fourth wall with this angle, simply because the way you shaded the character in colouring around the legs gives the impression of the clothing being pressed against a surface? Overall I think you took a chance overall in this image. I think you could have worked a little bit, personally, on the line art ? simply to give a better feeling of the jeans, the black threadwork in the ?crack? just makes the image seem dirtier than needs be really ? a different shade of blue could have probably helped create a natural flow really in that sense. Overall though I think this was an interesting take on what Kern suggested to you. Personally I pictured him suggesting something like a lower perspective looking up onto the character. But overall interesting image in the end.

The colouring is nice, though it is not as defined as it could be, simply because there are so much white in the background, and the shading is more stark than it should be. But really that is simply my personal opinion. Very interesting though, the shoes could be a little more detailed but generally I think you have the idea of the body done rather well? though there needs to be some more work in the sense of natural folds created by the ?crotch? area. The fingers are correctly placed btw, and I do have issues with the sense of flatness to the partial face we see, but overall it looks interesting in the end. But to be truthful the torso of the body would need to be a little more defined in various areas. Really the issues I think I have most with this image, which would sum up what you think, are a lot of negatives I?m saying about the image so far, is simply the flatness. That?s all the overall sense of flatness. Keep up the experimenting though!

Darkrose @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 6:26 AM
Heheh, well that's one way to create a dynamic pose... Again, all critique has already been covered, so I'll just pass on my immense amusement and give my congrats on attempting (and to a great extent succeeding on) an extremely difficult pose.

Ghislain WildCat @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 7:53 AM
Heeey! Long time no see! I haven't got news from you even since that flash animation where you voice act as Senya with that toaster robot! XD

As for the pic, you do have a lot of courage to attempt drawing at this angle! And the lighting's pretty nice too!... but maybe next time you could try to make a background... ^w^; The pic seems a bit empty without it.

KHatch @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 8:18 PM
I think this is cool. I would have never thought of something like this. The only thing that bugs me is the face, for the same reasons that people have already addressed. It looks flattish and the shoulders area is kinda off. But the legs and arms/fingers are good. I like the "pressed against glass" colouring job. This is really neat. =D

Kage Kitsune @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 10:12 PM

Thankyou all for your comments and opinions.

Totenmaske, thank you especially for giving some insight on time spent vs. quality of product. I think you have the right idea. The more heart and effort you put into it, the more it shows, and the more time you spend on a pic, the more likely you haven't forgotten a detail. *nods* Quite wise, indeed.

Again, THANKS! ^_^

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 4:55 PM

OH how my beloved game series came to the GBA and how i wish i bought it.... For christmas came and went and there was no Breath of fire in my stocking....for ALL game stores were sold out.... *sigh* LET THE HUNT BEGIN! I shall have you my Ryu!

So .....how did your christmas go? Get everything you wanted?

AnimeCanuck @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 3:14 AM
I've never played Breath of Fire... I also didn't get everything I wanted. I meant to go out to get Burnout 3: Takedown for the PS2 with some Christmas money, but it's also sold out everywhere (and more than I thought. I didn't realize it was a new release) so I hope I can still find it used at the rental store for $40.

He has a nice happy expression. Those are really dark, thick lines for his eyes. Also, is that a scar or a tattoo on his forehead. Are you going to colour this?

Rigga Mortis @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 3:56 AM
Your style is really defined, Crou. :D My only nit-pick is that the size of the eyes distorts the shape of the face/head on the left (our right, his left) side. Otherwise, that is a really cute nose, and I like the shape of the mouth and teeth. I really want to see this all coloured.

Skittles-chan @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 4:03 AM
The eyes are pretty cool, but it seems a little awkward on the left, like it comes out too much. I could tell almost instantly who it was though =3 I've played all of the BoF games except this most recent one. The first few are great.

MUAHAHA!!! *does the happy pencil dance* I've already completed two pieces with them, one just for fun and to try them out and the other a nice commission piece. I'll put them on DA when I get them scanned (which is my 'personal website' in my profile thingy that pops up when you click on my name <{^.^}>) Anyway, yeah. Exciting. Oh, and lovely pic... *as I remember what the point of commenting is* lalala.

Oooh! Izzat Ryu from Breath of fire 2? ^w^ Very god job on the sunset background! I love the colors you used in it! And you also did nicely with the solids.
But maybe you shouldn't have made his eyes so big. ^w^; It seems like it deforms his face a bit. *prepares to receive any pointy object thrown in my direction*

celestial crou @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 11:27 AM
-Ghislain WildCat You know....if you really want to torture someone you dont use pointy objects....you use blunt or dull objects and salt. Perhaps lemon or ham juice.... LOL...

NO really. NOw that you mention it his face does seem a bit akward. But because my drawing style literly revolves around the eyes i think it was the face itself that is perhaps too small? Donno...this is not a question one should ponder at 6:30 in the morning.

*Throws cookies at Ghislain WildCat. * Thankyou for the advise!

Shamdu @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 12:57 PM
Wow, pretty!! The background is really well drawn, you conveyed the atmosphere very well, and the dragon is pretty.~<3

Totenmaske @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 7:52 PM
I was withholding on commenting on this image last night crou, simply because I didn?t know if you were truly finished with the image ? yeah I know rather silly of me ? but I personally liked the way it was coming out so I didn?t feel it would be ?just? if I made a full comment on an unfinished piece. What is interesting, only to me I suppose ? because I used to be a fan of the Breath of Fire series (was, mainly because after awhile of the same characters being reintroduced in each new game, a few new characters, but the same main who never seemed to develop over the series ? I began to feel cheated) is the fact that I didn?t know they put a cross type scar on his forehead, but apparently they thought that was an interesting thing to put into the GBA version. Which tempts me to go out and purchase it, if I can find it.

Other than that, I must agree you did an exceptional job overall ? even though the face has been said by a few to be a little off mainly because of the result of the eyes, I personally think this is one of the more recent images of yours that I personally like a lot. The background, particularly the sunset with the sense of dark foreboding clouds really is crafted rather nicely and the colours are very well blended to give a wonderful effect. The sea itself is adequate but really nicely carried by the slight reflection of the clouds and lighting.

I personally like the fact that you depended upon thin line work in this image for the two focal points in the canvas (the dragon form of Ryu and Ryu himself). I think the overall colouring and line art in Ryu is more polished though, mainly because I see a little colour bleeding in the dragon?s eyebrow as well as the yellow highlights seem a little to vibrant, generally it would be really nice to see some sense of texture ? though personally I think you were going for that fine cel-shading look overall. I do like the dragon; don?t get me wrong, I just feel that it isn?t as polished as Ryu.

Now I know you have heard a few negatives about Ryu?s face and the setup of his eyes, well the overly large sense of the eyes and the odd sense of spacing on the face. But to be truthful, the overall effect isn?t as overpowering as it has been made out to be. I personally like the overall look of him ? even the little detail of the cross scar that Capcom has recently introduced on his forehead. The skin and the clothing are fantastically coloured in my opinion ? the eyes are a little odd only in the sense of colouring approach compared to the rest of the character. The line art is fantastic, and the overall look of the eyes remind me somewhat of how Harlequin crafts them, which is a compliment btw. The colouring itself is very nice overall though in Ryu and that is what seems to make the image ? the fact that you put a lot of work in getting a sense of shading on the face and clothing brings everything to life. I particularly like the way you rendered the lower lip cress, but it is carried on in the slight colouring ? as if it fades away realistically from the line art point into colour. But that?s just me. Overall fantastic image crou, and I do hope you get a chance to own Breath of Fire.

KHatch @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 8:19 PM
I like the semisolid shading, and I LOVE the background. The lineart is pretty and the anime type face is well done. Yeah, the eyes are a little buggy but the way you made them is good, so I'm gonna ignore that.

This looks really great now that it's finished ^^ I really, really love the water in the background; it's a little more realistic than bright blue or green. The sky looks very cool too, especially how the light is sort of seeping into the dark, like there's some kind of fire-storm type thing going on. The one thing that bothers me is how Ryu's hair is shaded solid, and nearly everything else in the image is watercoloured (which has enough various colours that I didn't even notice until just now.) But really overall, this looks fantastic ^^

I feel like I'm gonna like your drawings! XD

KHatch @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 8:21 PM
I really like the solid lineart in colours other than black. The way you made everything so blendy and used like, all the tools available (watercolour, solid, tones) is just great. The rockybricky wall is my favourite part of all. That and the fuzzy parts =P

relzilla @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 11:31 PM
Aww, the character looks so sad.. ;; *Hug.*
I agree that you did really well on the textures here. ^^ I also like how the bright colors on the character contrast with the gloomy background. (That you also did very well on. o_o *Pets clouds.* :D *Gets dreanched.* Arrg!)

oni shi @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 12:59 AM

My only drow character, Velkyn (Hidden) Velve (Blade). His duty is to protect the Dragon of Fire until the Dragon God shall awaken with the others. His fire power is just as strong as the Dragon's power. Adult b/c it's Not finished

Very interesting character design. His hair is so lovely, I had a similiar style once. :D That hand is superb, the shading and highlighting on the knuckles is a nice detail. What gets me most is the tinges of blue you've placed om his skin and clothing, which is red; the two contrast evenly, which is surprising with two such different shades. The coloured-outlines are also a nice touch, and the flames appear rather soft. This image is coming along wonderfully.

LunarMnM2004 @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 8:50 AM
This is flaming with Awsomeness... I love the fire the pose the style.. the hair.. the clothes... rules! ^_^

Sumi @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 4:34 PM
Nice hand. I like how the material gives off a really smooth feel, almost transparent in some places with the fire. I also love his hair. XD

AnimeCanuck @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 8:08 PM
Neat pose. Good foreshortening. Nice folds on the clothes as well. Good job!

it looks great so far, I love his hair! =3

Darkrose @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 11:54 PM
Cool story. I like the fire effect, it's almost like ethereal fire, mistic fire, something like that. I also like his outfit, and how he sort of looks like a dragon himself with the spikey hair and the serpentine eyes. The stark white background looks a little funny, like it's unfinished (you can all kick me if it actually is unfinished) but other than that I like the pose, the shading, just about everything. Great work.

TigerHawk @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 2:43 AM
Rigga Mortis: The Blue tinge is actually from the fire. I gave the fire blue tips, ya it does look weird ^^

Darkrose: I did say in my Comment it is not finished yet ^^ i wanted to add the Dragon God of Fire. I also gave him a Name too. Ab'a'cra

Rigga Mortis @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:18 AM
Aaah, right, right, I see now. Very faint on my monitor, but a bit of adjusting and there's the blue on the white. Very nicely blended! :D Another note: the shirt-cuffs (er, hems?) are fancy and neat.

KHatch @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 8:22 PM

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 1:33 AM
Ach! Sorry, sorry! *is kicked* I love that dragon, though... especially how the wing wraps almost protectively around the boy.

Tigerhawk @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:39 AM
Actually The Dragon isn't "there" (there is no spoon) LOL It's just one of those things where it has double imaging. Crap like that. The size of the dragon is much larger than that, half the size of the once tall Twin Towers. But I like what you said I'll keep that in mind.

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 9:30 AM
Cool story. Great start =3 I can't wait to see it finished. If what's been started, and the detail in the sketch, is any indication, then this should turn out excellently. Please finish soon!

Rigga Mortis @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 7:34 AM
Aww. Even unfinished this looks cute. The eye is neat, and I really, really like the solid-coloured outlines. It makes it stand out. The puffs of the hat are soft-looking. Nicely positioned, too.

Darkrose @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 11:52 PM
Aww, he is cute. I like the perspective you used on this one, and the little present. The whole thing fits together so nicely, although the tongue hanging out is a little distracting. Or maybe it's just the lack of smile that makes it look that way.. anyway, he's immensely cute, excellent job on this one.

Skittles-chan @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 4:24 AM
He's cute ^^ The perspective is pretty good, and I like the way the lineart is just a bit darker than the colour it surrounds. It doesn't seem to have any element of fantasy, though..

Sephie Strife @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:00 AM
Snnnooooww!!! X3

OMG, you're so good with perspective. >> I can't draw that kind of poses correctly at all.
My favorite part of that drawing is the frame, those blue corners are just sooo neat and add such a great touch to the whole picture. X3
And the little present box looks really cute! XD Love it.

Rigga Mortis @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:20 AM
Yay, it's done! Aww, lookit the mouth. The white poof and eding on the hat look really soft, as they did before, and the eye turned out really shiny and pretty since I last saw it. My little suggestion would be to add a bit more depth to the shading of the shirt or hat. Nice back-ground and 'frame-work' on the egdes!

Ghislain WildCat @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 8:03 AM
Hehe! Pretty cute! It's pretty nice how some things looks so fluffy compared to the rest of the pic. And the angle's well drawn! Oh! and maybe you should've shaded a bit ddarker, especially on the skin, since it seems to be in a pretty dark place and all. ^w^;

KHatch @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 8:23 PM
Aw this is CUTE!!! I like the coloured lineart. I tried that the other day and it made me sick, I messed it up so badly. Kudos on that. The fluff on the end of the hat is perfect, and I like the border and the plain background. The snow settling on the hat is a nice touch. =)

His mask looks awesome =3 Something about the alignment of the face is strange. Perhaps just the lips, or the angle of the jaw. But everything else looks wonderful. The shading is good, and the folds of the shirt are very realistic. I'm drawn to the realism in the face though. Very nice ^^

Jennifer @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 10:32 PM
She looks so very pretty, Kari. I'm sure that Carbuncle will adore this.
I'm glad you didn't go with the fairy norm and give her pale skin. She looks lovely with dark skin. It really adds to the contrast between her and her surroundings. Her eye makeup is very original. Very pretty.

Darkrose @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 11:47 PM
It's beautiful! I particularly like the ice mountains in the background, and the rings of jewels around her eyes. You could maybe have adjusted the hairline a bit, it's not quite level with the rest of her features, but I still really like it. It almost looks like it was colored with markers... too cool.

AnimeCanuck @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 3:11 AM
I love the eye makeup! Great colour scheme, too. I love how mostly everything looks like it has a metallic sheen - especially the golden fluffies. ^_^

Sephie Strife @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 4:49 AM
Woah, that picture looks great. X3
What captures my attention when I look at it is the icy background, it's my favorite part of the drawing, it looks so... icy!! XD I really really love ice.
The shading in the fur on her coat is really nicely done too! o_o
And the way you colored her lips is just so great. X3

Rigga Mortis @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:23 AM
Oooh, the hair, the hair...everything is so shiny! And that background makes me think sharp, jagged snowed-in mountains. :D Her eyes and the make-up surrounding them are quite vivid, and those lips are lovely. I adore her outfit, mainly the fur-lining, you really mixed blue and yellow well together. Her hair is intriguing, lavender? I can't really tell, but it still looks nice. My only little suggestion would be to give a clean-up to the line-art of her jaw, as the black thickens their noticably, but it's nothing major. :D I like this a lot, it's very wintery.

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 6:59 AM
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! YAY! I'm sooo happy !!! *jumps around* ohh this is so lovely!! I love the wings and the furr... and the makeup reminds me of the Shiva a FF Game...( either I'm up too late or I play to many games...0_0 ) I'm very happy with this Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Queen_Godzilla @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 4:19 AM
Hey Kari --

Wow, you got a lot of good contrast in this. The lilac color, dark skin and yellow keep that going. I like that. It makes things pop out, really. Like her eyes, or her lips or the fur collar. Interesting design too -- I love her eyes, they're very 80s fantasy.

The only thing I'd really critique are the wings. They kind of blend with the hair and it took me a while to figure out if they were wings or really part of the cloak.

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 9:39 AM
I must not have noticed this on my previous comment spree, but I'm sorry =3 I really like it. It reminds me somehow of Neopets, which may or may not have been intended. Also, she has dark skin, and I'm sick of the icy archetype things being so pale and white all over. The dark skin suits her. I like the eyes very much too, the bits around them, and how her pupils are so light. Very nice job shading the fur, though it is just a little messy in places. I like her hair, though it could have used just a little bit more definition.

Chime @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 6:54 PM
Uhm..Taelia O___o

Yeah...sorry. it looks like the Snow Faerie from Neopets. Like. Completely.

Nice blurring of the background.

This is so cute, pretty and original. I like the idea of putting someone's character into a snow globe. It's very pretty. The globe and character themselves seem magical. She looks like she might blink or flap her wings. Beautiful job.

TigerHawk @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 1:26 AM
Her eyes are gorgous!

Sumi @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 5:02 PM
This is so cool! The snowglobe idea is genius. XD Yes, the bleeding colour on the snowglobe base is a little distracting but it's not that bad. Nice job.

AnimeCanuck @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 8:25 PM
She's got a very cute and innocent look to her. I hope she's actually happy to be put in a snowglobe like that, and not just under some sort of creepy spell. The green eyes are really intense! ^^

Ikena @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 10:33 PM
ah lovely! the eeeeyes! =3

He should go crash the party! :D

celestial crou @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 7:05 AM
:( he seems so sad..... Kinda depressing. I like the lineart so far! I'lll comment more when this is done.

Rigga Mortis @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 6:38 PM
Awww. I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, King! I hope you feel better during Christmas Day (today! :D). This is a tad depressing, yes. *Gives the guy some cookies.* It's coming along in an neat way, though, I'm curious about what's in the background.

Darkrose @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 6:57 PM
aww... *pats on head* I'd invite you to my house for Christmas but, you know, Alaska's kinda hard to get to... But nice lineart so far, keep going! (btw... did you ever finish the other piccie you did the other day? *races to go see*) Merry Christmas!

Rasen @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 8:00 PM
He looks kind of sad, but a little grim at the same time. The lineart looks quite good so far. It looks like it will be interesting when done. ^_^

Kamourian King @ Sunday, December 26th 2004, 3:24 PM
Darkrose, no i didnt..... it became a sckech and i didnt like it...

TigerHawk @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 1:31 AM
I know how exactly how he feels. The background came out pretty good too ^^.

LunarMnM2004 @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 8:53 AM
I think he ish cute... iwth the long whiskers and the sad wittle face!

Kamourian King @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 4:11 PM
lol LunarMnM2004 , i do love the wiskeys too ^^ they make my cat people atractive ^^;

Sumi @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 5:09 PM
Horray for whiskers. XD I think everyone has felt left out one time or another. You got the expression very nicely. I hope everything turned out okay on Christmas. =3

AnimeCanuck @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 8:26 PM
He looks so depressed. Cheer up, okay? Really good work.

Ikena @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 10:33 PM
aww poor Zan *hugs him* =3

Darkrose @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 11:57 PM
aww... this really is sad. A little faster coloring job than many of your others, but still a nice effect overall. I particularly like the addition of the drooping whiskers, they really help portray the emotion of this pic. *sniffsniff* Sad tiger-boy-things in snow...

Rigga Mortis @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:25 AM
D: Aww, sad still? This is progressing nicely, if not a little bit slowly, King! Poor guy, though, the drooping whiskers add to his sad expression. The background is shiny, especially the snow. It matches his skin. Blue is such a neat idea for a skin tone. :3 A little note: his eyes look a tad uneven, on the under-side, if you can understand that.

Kamourian King @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 4:35 PM
eek.... yeah sorry its takeing so long, i came down w/ a cold so ill fin this tonight......^^; and i have a idea fer another one

and for the one eye being smaller then another, his eyes are squenting, and one is just doing it more then the other (( myn always do that ^^; even when i cry))

yep, its done *edit*

No no, she's not Santa..she's just Santa's Lil' Helper...and she seems to be rather shy about her costume. XD ..oops. forgot to whiten the pompom at the end of the hat. :x

LunarMnM2004 @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 3:00 AM
I love it looks realyl good. I like her hair. and the hat and the bow!
^^ all christmasy!

Jennifer @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 3:18 AM
She looks so sweet and cute. She seems a little embarrassed about the outfit, or perhaps she's a little shy about greeting strangers. Her ears are so cute. Great job on the tree in the background. Merry Christmas!

Darkrose @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 3:22 AM
oh, cute! I love the bow, and all the lovely smooth shading. The lineart is also very smooth and pleasant to look at, and the overall feeling is one of holiday cheer (and embarassment!)

Rigga Mortis @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 4:17 AM
Oh my cute! She does look a trifle shy, doesn't she? Her expression is sweet, none the less. Her outfit isn't too bad, I really like the green bow, and her ears. The tree looks so interesting, a lot of textures. :D Merry Christmas to you and you're lovely Santa's Helper. X3

Kamourian King @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 4:22 AM
i love the ears ^^ and the tree behind her looks really good ^^

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 5:25 AM
Aw, what a cutie! I love the soft shading, and her hair shinies. (: Her waist bothers me a bit, though.. I have the impression that you were drawing her leaning over, but didn\'t ~quite~ succeed, because it looks more like she has almost no torso. Not that that makes the image bad, just a little propotional snag. I love the bow on her dress, it looks so shiny and soft. X)

(Edited on December 25, 2004, 5:27 am)

Skittles-chan @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 5:32 AM
I bet Santa's pretty happy with her =3 She has a cute outfit. I like the hightlights on her hair, too, and her lips are pretty ^^ The bow's rather cute too. The detail on the tree is nice, especially the snow.

celestial crou @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 7:03 AM
Merry christmas! You have very clean lineart. I love her expression. and the BG is so simple yet it fits with the picture so well. Nice texturing on the tree.

Rasen @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 8:02 PM
I really like the smooth shading on this one. Her positioning is quite good too, and I the texture and frosting of the tree in the background. She has such a sweet, sheepish expression. I wonder what she did? ^_^;;

TigerHawk @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 1:37 AM
the skin tone is really sweet. you did an excelent job on that as well as the hair. The tree came out pretty interesting too.

Sumi @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 5:55 PM
The first thing I thought when I saw this was "lineart!" XD Nice smooth lineart and lighting on her hair. I especially like the shading on her bow.

AnimeCanuck @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 8:28 PM
Very cute, nicely coloured, amazing background. One point of constructive criticism: I think her breasts may be a BIT too high. Or is that just weird foreshortening from a weird angle? Something about them looks off to me. *shrugs* Otherwise, an amazing pic! Seriously, the texture of the tree kicks ass!

Ikena @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 10:31 PM
aaww so cute!
Merry xmas to you too! =3
I love her expression!

Sephie Strife @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 4:46 AM
Awww cute!!! XD
I really love your lineart. o.o It's really awesome.
And the shading in her hair looks really great. X3
But my favorite part is the blue background behind the tree, the textures in it and the gradient shades of blue look sooo neat. X3 Great job!!

KHatch @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 8:30 PM
I LOVE that tree. It's so pretty. The soft shiny hair is lovely and the expression is darling. The waist area is a bit odd but overall, the piece is well done.
*colours the pompom with a white crayon*

kyokurrychan @ Sunday, January 30th 2005, 6:48 AM
