Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

Mmhm, since I never finished the last one. Here he is again. Sorry for the cruddy backround.

Starisan @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 4:17 PM
The lighted background is nice. I like the suggestion of wings, I get the feeling that he is self conscience.I like the pattern of his robe. What are those types of robes called? I don't know too much about the tradition. It seems a very moody drawing. Smiles to you.

Lady_Sea @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 8:47 PM
I agree, this picture does give off a very moody feel. He almost reminds me of Sesshoumaru from Inu-Yasha. Especially with that design on his shoulder and the hair and eye shape. But it's plenty enough of your own style to make it your own character. The bright green color of his eyes is also something to look at. They glow they're so bright, and it pops out nicely with the matching background. Nice job.

Kaede @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 9:42 PM
Well bascially what you see on him is a plain Kimono, the only difference is he is wearing Hakama pants over the kimono and has it tied with date-jime belt.
He looks like Sesshoumaru-sama because he was at first based on the character but sort of involved into his own. ^^

Carbuncle @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 10:29 PM
ohh wow the thing that drew me into this picture was tha beautiful GREEN BG!!!!!! I love green! And his eyes are just soo intense! I do like the traditional style clothing ! (It's neat to know all kinds of those things!) allthough I do think the face is a little long it adds so the solomness of this pic I hope you find your style soon I like this one but it all depends on you ...

darkrose @ Sunday, January 9th 2005, 6:09 AM
I like the green theme in the background, it's almost 'matrix' like which is interesting and cool. It makes me think this character has a very scientific mind. I like the design on the kimono, too, with the simple black moon on the shoulder and the plain black and white everywhere else. You know I think you're really good at this Japanese clothing style, but you could always improve. Maybe you could find some really awesome sites that show you the different pieces and how they go on, with pictures? Your shading is fantastic here, and the whole thing fits together very nicely.

KHatch @ Sunday, January 9th 2005, 8:28 AM
Again with the clothing, very nice, and I really like how you shaded the face and gave it detail without any solid lines. I can't seem to accomplish that. YAY for shiny green wings!

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, January 15th 2005, 4:30 PM
Pretty. ^^ The way his kimono hangs makes him look like he has droopy breasts. xD To avoid that, don't start the curving of the kimono so high next time. His face bothers me a bit, though, because his eyes are so small and high, and his nose is really low. O: It makes his face look disproportionate. D: Anyway, he's pretty. ^^~

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 23rd 2005, 5:42 PM
I love the ethereal wings. They're so pretty. It's neat how you made them match his eyes - they're really a part of him. Draw more of this character. He's intriguing!

This is KazeKyou with a new name. Got kind of tired being 'ole Kaze. And I haven't kakied in a while, so I'm a little lost for ideas. Just a black and white image of an elf.

I may try to add something else into the blank space later when I can come up with some idea.

darkrose @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 6:23 AM
I don't know, I like it just as is, thanks. It's very simple, very striking with the beautiful shading on his face and ear and the plain black and white for contrast. Beautiful shading on that face, by the way. I think the highlights on his neck and collarbone could have been a little closer to the black lineart, but it's still fantastic with that lovely wild hair and the smooth detailed, well, cleanness of it all. Is that a word? Anyway, I just love it. Great job.

celestial crou @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 7:34 AM
I love love love that hair! *dies* *recesitates* *dies again* *recesitates* I love the flowy feel of it...so pretty. The shading is nice and smooth and the eyes. YOu even added their shadows. The clothing is nice too. Simple and clean. (KH reference) lol. I like it the way it is. to add more would make it gaudy i think.

kyokurrychan @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 1:27 PM

Hmmmm, I really like the style you did this in. I like the background simplicity with the accent lines. I like the cross hatch effect around the outside, it seem like a grapic design like

Jennifer, The Blue Narian @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 1:36 PM
Good to have you back! And nice change from your old stuff. Though it was good too. This is just a different style and it's always good for an artist to be versitile (mangled spelling).

What I like about it best is the contrast of the stark, flat black to the well blended/molded skin tones. It has a real nice design and/or cover art feel to it.

oni shi @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 4:12 PM

I love hair like this. ^_^; It's sorta... a fetish? Anyway, I really like the simplicity of the bg and the way you added tones in there is awesome, because instead of ruining the pic like I do it makes it look even better. >.<;

Lady_Sea @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 10:04 PM
What a nice character design. The name fits nicely with this character. I like his ruffled hair too, it's almost cute ^_^. As for critique, the background contrasts with the character far too much. It's the overload of white. It needs to be at least toned down a little. But overall, nicely done.

Carbuncle @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 10:49 PM

"Ahhhh...nothing better than a nice long bed-vacation after Goblin hunting...."

>D Alright. Ive been totally obsessed with Final Fantasy XI. Hahahah. The appearance of the character is based upon the Mithra. For those of you who dont play, I pity you.

What I Like: In general, the coloring pleases me. And although the linework isn't my best, Im satisfied.

What i dont Like: I went over-board with the shirt-wrinkling >D Hahah. And I got a "background-block" so I just painted a bunch of clouds on the wall ^^

And no, the "boobie" was not intentional, its just the position. If you look REALLY hard, you can see the upper curve of the other "boobie"

For those of you who dont know already, this is Fae. (Eternal_Fae)
And If you DO play, My character is Kitsuchi on the Asura server.

Awww, this is soo sweet. She looks so calm and at ease. The fabric strains on the pillow are done really well.

darkrose @ Thursday, January 20th 2005, 9:02 PM
This is really quite good, especially her arm, I think. The shading on that and the shape are quite pleasing. She appears to only have one breast through, something there looks not quite right. Is this done or not? It looks like it's done, but the comment at the beginning seems to suggest otherwise. Either way, it's a good start and there are definitely things I like.

KHatch @ Thursday, January 20th 2005, 10:33 PM
The shading is very nice and rich in this piece, but the BG is sad and empty. I love her arm behind her head, and yeah, she does appear to have only one boob. Intentional or undone? Nice anyway.

My, you really have improved within the past year. Your figures are becoming more life like and are beginning to grow characters of their own. This is really a beautiful image. I really like the woody red colors in this and the sage green eyes that compliment it. The art on her chest is simple but very original and unique all in it's own way. I'm getting proud of you kiddo ^_^. As for a tad bit of cc, clean up your line art in some places. That's about it, can't wait to see some more images produced by you.

Verna_Venisa @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 7:57 PM
Thanks for the comments everyone ^^... this character is brand new, but i was thinking about making a redheaded elf a few days ago. The tatoo i dunno about. I pretty much just drew it because i didn't fell like putting in the effort to make a necklace and her neck looked bare, but 1/2-way through drawing it i decided to possibly represent the 4 elements (hence the colors). Mabye she could be a mage of sorts? ^_^ We'll see

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, January 15th 2005, 3:54 PM
Welcome to the board! :3 This is a pretty elf. Something about her face seems odd to me, I think it might be how she's slightly cross-eyed. Also, I think her nose could use a bit more definition, since it seems you're going for a slightly more realistic than cartoonish look. I think, for her collarbone, you could have used just watercolors to make it less harsh. Same goes for the tattoo - it looks more like it was drawn on with Sharpie than tattooed, I think if you smoothed the edges with watercolor is would look more realistic. Just one more thing, I promise, and then I'm done - the curve in her hair at the top of her head seems to go out a little much. :o Anyway, I'm a fan of reds and silvers, so I'm digging her outfit. x) Again, welcome to Drowkaki!

Hoorah for being new here. I'm hoping that I saved the image the right way. She's my charicature of sorts, name of Kayen, and she is *completely* out of character herself. Normally, she'd be holding a staff/scythe combo and be in tribal wear. Not snowboarding gear. That's *my* forte.

Adult 'cause I'm not done.

Any ideas for clothes and background are entirely welcome, 'cause I suck at both.

This is a very interesting image. The snake suggest something sinister has happened, the clean lines and colors work well. I just gotta say I like the simplicity of this.

darkrose @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 6:27 AM
"Search goods built eighteen to nineteen-thirties to the schalchten of the butcher"? Can't find that "schalchten" word anywhere, but I can't understand German worth a lick. I can speak it (as in pronounciations) because of a singer's training (by the by, Richard Strauss writes REALLY ANNOYING WORKS) and I happened to have my German dictionary open in front of me while I was perusing the site. So, interesting caption, what's it mean? Obviously the image is dark, with the red eye and snake (which looks totally cool, btw) and the overabundance of, well, black. Still, am interested in knowing what the saying means...

Kaede @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 11:10 PM
"Looking for a well-built eighteen to thirty-year-old to be slaughtered. The Master Butcher. "
Its from the song Mein Teil by Rammstein. I was listening to it while drawing this and it reminded me of shinzen, that line anyway. =0

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, January 15th 2005, 4:13 PM
Neat image, but I have to say - the chain really takes away from the image, I wish you had taken more time on it, it would have brought a lot to the image. ANYWAY. Because of the kimono sleeves, the snake seems to be more of an obi than an actual snake. You probably could have used some shine on it to make it more three-dimensional. Also, I wish you had put a little color in the elf's/man's/whateverheis's face and hand, or in the white of the kimono itself, to distinguish between the two. With the way the face is tilted, I think the eye might need to be a little teeny bit lower. But anyway, nice idea for an image, I always like your work. ^^

Kage Kitsune @ Monday, January 17th 2005, 2:00 PM
kreepy german and ebil snaky thing O_O;; I like his clothes and the snake kind of looks like a belt to hold up his hakama(sp?). The chain bugs me because it doesn't really look like a chain much, just some kind of metallic winedy thingy O_o; other than that tis pretty cool!

Four good reasons why Argpoodle should not be allowed to lead, be in charge, or decide ANYTHING. All four events happened in my game and the bottom two panels both occured last night, about half an hour apart. He died in each of these situations, and the first, third, and fourth times, I was able to heal him with my clericy goodness, but the second time, he was DEAD dead, and I used divine intervention to bring him back. Woohoo for necromancy!
Yay for idiot gnomes!
EDIT: The notes pinned to 'Poodley's chest say, in order, \"You can't see me\" and \"I'm not the gnome you're looking for.\"
He was being invisible. Or something. Yeah.

*Snerk.* Oh, man, this reminds me of when my friends and I role-play tabletop. This seems quite...similiar, in some ways. Brilliant art as usual, so very comicy and hilarious. Argpoodle is the coolest gnome EVER. Your Drow looks so cute in the first panel, too, her big eyes and expression just transmits surprise perfectly.

That is the coolest thing EVER! Heh, my figther character was nominated to be party leader because he was the only one that no one despised. He's fifteen and still has to learn the ropes of being a good leader. Although in his eagerness to learn the diplomacy and tact to be a truly great leader he somehow ended up with a natural 24 CHA... woops. Ah, well, mobbage here we come. Anyway, he did some of these things. The whole 'ok, here's my rational---ERKG" thing, and the flame doors too. After the first couple tries we found an ingenious method of unlocking the door, then tying a rope to the handle in such a way that it would open when pulled a certain way, then we pulled really fast and ducked down around the corner, allowing us to escape the flaming death. Whee! Your gaming group looks like so much fun...

Starisan @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 4:20 PM
hehe, caffine time! Good start, there is definately a friendship that is obvious between these characters. Reminds me of ood school days, although I don't have a tail (wish I did sometimes). I like the unique style that each one has. I think the gesturness of the start gives it a movement which is always cool. So far the perspective looks right on every thing. Can't wait to see it go further.

Carbuncle @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 10:33 PM
okay it's now finnished well sorta I still need a BG but I'm not on my computernow so you'll have to wait... I need tips for it too!! (Because I'm like BG defisiant) *^_^*

darkrose @ Sunday, January 9th 2005, 6:06 AM
I like it. From the different styles in clothing and color choice to the different animals to the scrawlings on the coffee cups, you can really feel the different personalities of these three girls. The leneart is pretty good and the shading is well done. I think you have good talent, I'd love to see something with more time spent on it. Not that there's anything wrong with this piece, as I said I like it a lot. I just want to see more <{^.^}>

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 6:44 AM
OMG this is too cute. The uniqueness of each character is very nice and creative. I particualrly like your own character, since I love Carbuncle. Well, actually, in my comic book Carbuncle gets eaten by a dragon, and well, in my short stories he always dies, but hey I still like him! ^_^;;
Very good job on the shiny in the hair.

Kage Kitsune @ Monday, January 10th 2005, 2:36 AM
One of the Sensei's from my dojo came up to visit for promotions in on December 11, today when we were talking in AIM he told me he had sent me an e-mail, I opened said e-mail and he asked me if he could name me Shiro hana which means White blossom. Apparently it is the rarest and most beautiful blossom ever and blooms for a very long time...and Hana also happens to be my name in japanese ( hannah = hana ). I've never really like my name in japanese because it ment blossom...because I never have felt like one. But when he asked me to accept the name I was glad and sen thim an e-mail back telling him I would gladly except it as my name. This picture is for Sensei Shihan Alamo, my namer, I hope he outlives his hereditary heart condition.

KHatch @ Monday, January 10th 2005, 4:14 AM
That a neat story.
I love the little blossoms and the nice clean lineart. The colouring is simple but pretty. Cute little image!

darkrose @ Monday, January 10th 2005, 7:11 AM
wow, beautiful story and beautiful picture. It doesn't look particularly fantasy...? But the hand is well done, the flowers are lovely, and the little bits of detail are really nice.

Starisan @ Monday, January 10th 2005, 1:05 PM
Wow, this is really pretty. I love the pastelish color palette. It is very flattering to the person you're representing. The lips have an effective yet subtle shine and the shadows and highlights on the clothing are really good. OOO and I envy the hand, it is so beautiful and well done. The only thing that I might say is to give the blossums a little more detail. I suppose that's a personal preference though. Good job!

Lady_Sea @ Monday, January 10th 2005, 11:04 PM
That is such a pretty picture to go along with such a pretty name. I like the nice vibrant, but soft colors. It's very pleasing to the eye. oO Is that a Yuna braid in the back? XD. I like the font of the letters, you did nicely on that too. I pray your sensei gets better ^_^.

Kage Kitsune @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 2:21 AM

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, January 15th 2005, 4:20 PM
I have to agree with darkrose, it's not fantasy, but that's such a sweet story. (: I love the little flowers, and how the girl caught one. :] I think the text would have been more legible if you had used either a darker or lighter shade of the purply/blue. I hope your sensei gets better!

darkrose @ Monday, January 10th 2005, 7:09 AM
who'd kill you? I likes it. Good job with the script... and you definitely tried to get a good shine on it. I think you might work some more on the lighting of metal, which is tricky and it behaves in a very wierd way. Still, beautiful detail in the writing and the little red shine across the front...

Starisan @ Monday, January 10th 2005, 1:01 PM
Hey that's cool. I like the evil aura resonating from it. The coloring is good to, I think that the softer lines give it more depth then harder ones would.

Verna_Venisa @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 12:42 AM
*o* shiny....... *reaches for ring* this is really nice, i like the swirly-aura effect, the only thing i have to say bad about it is that you may want to be a little neater with your coloring (well, unless you were going for that effect) ^_^. Very pretty

OOO and the shoulder pad thingys (sorry don't know what to call them), they are awsome because they are so dramatic. great job as usual.

AND on the second one it shows the shared characteristics of father to both sons. Quite interesting. As far as i can remember the eyebrows are shared between IY / father and in Full demon mode IY has the same strips on his face. Well. you can read the rest i'm sure. really cool..

Ever since Inu Yasha became popular in the US, I stopped following it. xD; This is a nice image, although the positioning of the white cloak .. thing.. bothers me, because it make his shoulders to look different sizes. I just don't know....that background was just totally random, although cute in jy opinion. I guess it's all due to the fact that I'm in a very good mood right now. Not sure why. The character is random too...just some demon guy giving a thumbs up to whoever happens to look in his direction. The white on the shirt was just an expirament...I don't know if I like it. Well, have a happy day! :D

Lady_Sea @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 2:09 AM

olsie @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 3:26 AM
There you go; you now have a ladies' man demon; if you want to have a variety of personalities with your characters xD you have to have one of those xD
A common BG; but it fits :)
The highlights could have had more time spent to make them look more glossy -nod- and the thumb of his looks a tid bit off with the rest of his hand; and his pose would have been cute with the other hand waving (the one we don't see) in my opinion ^-^

darkrose @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 6:06 AM
Heh, at first I thought the white was tears, which added to the punk theme. So I've been playing Paper Mario 2, and this just appeals to me for some reason... the silly spiral sun and the happy blue sky with the big gothy demon giving the audience his 'thumbs up'. It's too cute, I just love it. Beautiful job with his hair and hand, it looks too big for a normal human, but it really adds to the 'demon' effect.

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 6:35 AM
I totally love the sunshine. The hair is really nice on this guy and his huge hand is a cool effect, personally. I like the shading on his armbands.

catboi incubus mishi @ Thursday, January 13th 2005, 2:54 PM
What a handsome bishounen, Kaiera!
Anyway, I have to point this out, because this is what my eye went to first - his huge hand. I admit, I draw large hands, but this one, is, shall we say, out of hand. It's much too large. ^_^;;; Anyway, moving on.. is he wearing leather? I like the effort you put into shading it, but there's black between the white lines, making it look unfinished. I think, if you had used watercolour, it would have looked better. What I do whenever I draw someone wearing black, I actually make it a dark grey so that I can use both dark and light tones on it. :3 I like his arm bands, but there's a touch of white on the inside of the lower one - did you forget to shade there? o: Anyway, I do think he's a very nice bishounen and keep up the good work. <3

Kaede @ Thursday, January 13th 2005, 8:17 PM

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 1:22 AM
it's a very cute angel, I 'specially like the glowy halo. Great attention to the lighting on it, too... I love how it reflects on his hair and shoulder, and how the lighting is all soft and stuff.
Ready for some comment? I really like this piece. The composition is good (paying attention to the rule of thirds and such, which is important in my book) and the picture is well drawn, with stylized but sound shading and beautiful lineart. Now here's something I think you could work on that would be cool: look at some nightscapes and notice the color change the moonlight has on things. Things that would in bright daylight be one color take on a blueish or paler hue that can be quite striking. I think that if you're into doing night scenes, that might be a nifty effect to try out. Just a suggestion! I still really like what youv'e done here, just as is. I wouldn't suggest changing it.
One tip that might help is the stars.. try varying not only the size (like I see you've done) but also the translucence. That'll help make smaller stars look further away, and provide the illusion of an exceptionally clear night.
That's all I've got for ya! This really is a fantastic image... kudos.

Queen_Godzilla @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 5:13 AM
Yeah, he does kinda look like Dark. Must be the purple hair and black wings.

The thing that caught my eye was the halo. It's the brightest thing in the picture, even brighter than the moon. It's just making my eye catch.

My critique would be the shading/highlighting job. It looks a bit rushed in this piece. (And, I can see the stars through the bushes. Oops XD.)

ChronosKit @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:45 AM

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 9:03 AM
I really like the stars, and the lineart is fairly neat. The way the tops of the trees are transparent is really cool, since most people don't consider that there would be bits where stars would shine through in real trees. I really like your shading style as well, though it looks a bit messy in just a few places on his wings (the tips mainly.) Also, his arms look a little unnaturally straight. Really that's about the only critique I have ^^ Everything else looks pretty good

i like the hair. its very neon-ish. the black wings are neat. And the clothing and body are nicly drawn and highlighted. and shaded. Though i thnk more shading is in order because its night.

Chime @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 6:30 PM
I dont know why, but something about the expression bothers me. It just seems so out of place in the dark colors and starry sky. =X I dont mean to be a nit-picker, Im just saying.

Your clothing looks fabulous =) On the sleeve, it almost feels as if I could poke it and it would move O_o
I also like the bangles/bracers - they are completely colorless except the shine. Nice touch.

Then - the sky looks great. Its not just a solid color, but a series of blues that add realism to it. The moon should be clearer around the actual edges, for it looks like a circular cloud hanging there.

All-in-all great picture =)

hmm... interesting... so the blonde one is a vampire and the red-haired one is about to become dinner? Heheh... Nice shading on his thigh there, I'd think that gloss effect would be other places too, like his shoulder and cheeks... other than that, great use of shading and the action pannels really tell a story. The position of the characters is a litle... awkward... for my tastes. But then again, I've never been a big fan of yaoi. Still nicely done, though!

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 9:09 AM
Hmm vampires ^-^; The one thing that keeps distracting me is the random tan bits that I know are parts belonging to the blond one, but I cant figure out what parts they are, or what position would ever allow him to bend in that way. Also, the shading on the - sheets, I'm assuming - is different from that of what's on the flesh, and sometimes it's good to stay consistant with a style in a piece unless there's an effect you're trying to pull off. Also, the background is a little blank. If they're in a bedroom, there would be something around them, a nightstand or pictures or something of the sort.
Anyhow, I really like the shading and highlights on the hair, and I like the way you draw eyes. Also, the vampire's teeth look pretty cool in that small panel on the left ^^

Rigga Mortis @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:22 PM
Ah, vampires...nice facial-shapes. The mouth of the red-haired one, and his eyebrow, look a little strange, but nothing too bad. I like how the blonde one is just peeking out from behind. X3 The blankets have some good folding and shading, and the highlihts on their skin is perfect.

Howdy guys. This is my Secret Santa for Eternal_Fae.

I was planning to do her Rainbow Angel, but the board got erased and so I had no reference anymore. Soooo, I just took what I remembered of her angel and kinda did a "remix" of it.

So now it's Rainbow Angel Remix!

Merry (late) Christmas, Eternal_Fae!

Kari Maxwell @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 8:32 PM
It sure is pretty... I like how you did her hair. It's pretty. ^^ What's funny is I like rainbows too. ^^ So pretty and so rare. Loverly picture.

COLORS!!! So pretty!!!

Ohhh I just love your coloring style >>
It rocks!!
And your lineart is so neat too!
Ohhh the colors... just watching that makes me happy! XD

kyokurrychan @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 10:28 PM
ah!<3 pretty ^^ i love the look of the ground below too

Rigga Mortis @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 11:01 PM
Yaaay more Queen_Godzilla stuff! :D Mm, rainbow goodness...I love how her hair swirls down to the ground and is 'colouring' the world below. That is creative and beautiful at the same time. :3 Lovely details to the tree-tops and stream, and those puffy-soft clouds! Onto the angel girl herself, she has such a cuuuute expression. I've always admired the way you do faces, and this is no exception. The lips, the eyes, the nose---it's all perfect. That colourful wing-belt is an awesome detail. This is wonderful.

Jennifer @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 12:38 AM
This is absolutely beautiful. What a bright and wonderful Secret Santa gift! I love what you did with this. The drab-ish looking background really makes the rainbow fairy stand out. I love how her long, multicolored hair twists down through the clouds like an actual rainbow.

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 1:13 AM
alright, cool. This totally rocks, with th erainbow hair winding down to Earth and the awesome wing design on her... uh... costume <{^.^}>;; hehee. And the lines are really well done, like they were actually inked and then scanned, 'tis too cool.

Kage Kitsune @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 1:58 AM
This is waaay cool!!! Iike the background and how she's floating in the sky on cloads. I want that hair!!! and the clouds look so puffy ::pokes them::

LunarMnM2004 @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 3:06 AM
It rules with all the colors and the brightness of the character... and the clouds...
And how below its all gray but at the top its green!
Tis tooooo cool for words!
She so pretty!

ChronosKit @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:43 AM
Rainbow wings! Gods I love your lineart, I want it so bad. I can draw fine lineart on paper, but drawing on the computer is a whole nother story for me~

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 8:38 AM
Very pretty ^^ I like the bright colours, and her hair is cool. I also like the perspective, and the ground below, and how it's coloured only one spot. She's cute.

Basil @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:59 PM
She reminds me of Rainbow Brite! :3 I love the colors- They're gorgeous. The wing on her belt(?) is extremely eyecatching and bright. I love the way, as well, that the hair is sort of spiralling down towards the earth at the top of the picture. (I'm assuming that was the intended effect, but of course it could just be the narrowing of her hair at the end. ^_^;;) The shading is nice- Very soft. and the background is done really nicely! Great picture! Bravo!

windblade @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:29 PM
strange, I could have sworn I commented on this pic... I think the way you drew her hair is extremely original, all spiralling down to the earth! I love the rainbow wings on her clothes (belt? skirt?) and her happy expression!

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:33 PM
wow the hair just moves ur eyes along the page so well i love u use of differnt line values it really makes u think that the ground is farther away and also i like the grey and color of the ground. i love this image.

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:57 PM
so pretty ^^ i love the colors in this, it stands out so much ^^ this is such a great pic ^^

Olsie @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 9:11 PM
Makes me fill with more HAPPY! Because of all the colors presented in this picture xD
I like the concept too; Black and white morphing into color for a landscape. Very creative. ^___^

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 4:42 PM
This is gorgeous!!! The rainbow in the upper-right corner (how it looks so solid, yet so bright) and the winged underwear are my favourite pieces of this picture. It reminds me (because of the flowing rainbow hair, and the up-in-the-clouds-ness) of Thundara the bird/goddess of the rainforest from the Aladdin TV cartoon. *giggles*

Again, beautiful! ^^

Kaiera @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:10 PM
oh so pretty! Beautiful colors. Love it. Fills me with happy thoughts! Anyway, I adore how the picture goes from a dull, black and white up to the angel, who is filled with vibrant color. For some reason, it seems to me that the picture goes from more realistic to cartoonish in the same manner. Excellent job at portraying this, it looks as if she gives life to the world below. Awesome job! -thumbs up!-

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:46 PM
Yeah! I love this one. Not only does it have great detail but it has wonderful colors. It reminds me of Iris, the greek goddess of the rainbow. She has a beautiful face and lovely bangs. I think the perspective as the hair goes down is very good. I like unique angles like this. The feathures on her skirt(?) are great. The eyes are also very well done.

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 12:50 AM
ohh wow I really like this pic and the colors are awesome but the only thing I have a problem with is the bellybutton it looks too low or he legs come too high but overall good work

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 7:27 AM
Wow. This is a definately colorful pic. I love the way you left the BG grey so it wasnt such a shock of color. I really apreciate it. LOL. This is a woderful example of an arial view. i love the variying thicknesses in the lines outlinging the hair and girl herself. And i must ask. You have a tablet? or did you draw this correctly and then flipped it upsidedown.

Queen_Godzilla @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 8:47 PM
Celestial Crou -- I have a tablet. I drew the girl right-side up first, then flipped it using the Vertical Flip tool. XD;

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:18 AM
Ooh, I remember the original for this character on the board before the worm hit. I have to say, going about the coloring of the background as you did...well that's damn creative. The end of her rainbow hair bestowing color to an other wise greyscale world. Very nice. Everything about her is just surreal looking in comparison. For instance, the other clouds are bland and grey, while the ones that come into contact with either her or her hair are a little more 'fluffy' looking, and have that awesome blue shading to them. Very nice. The thicker lines as an outlining of sorts...well that's personally one of my favorite things about this piece. But the perspective certainly doesn't hurt. Now to the figure herself. First of all...I LOVE THAT YOU ALWAYS SHOW LIPS!!! lol The smile she's got just seems to fit her. The purples in her shirt show just awesome depth. VERY nice. There is however one thing that bothers me. It's the wings at her waist. The way the rainbow feathers are shaded makes them look round. It seems there are a few light sources on them as well. Other than that, I really like this piece. You've got some talent with the colors let me just say that. lol Awesome piece for the secret santa...well, I'm going to call it "project".

Chime @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 6:13 PM
Tha~ank you so much Godzilla ^o^
I love it, its so colorful and boo~otiful *^*
Like everyone else, I love the way the "rainbow" is coloring the world. I love what you did with the hair, I never even thought of that when I drew her the first time ^________^
I especially like the way you colored the whole picture. The shading is light and realistic, in my eyes. The linework, also, is fabulous.

Thanks soooooo much!!!

And for those of you who havent already realized, this is Fae >B

The face is so great to look at. Love how you drew the eyes and the expression is so nice. I think the drawing looks cool. Definitely like the hair. XD And that loose strand.

darkrose @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 10:37 PM
Ooh, I like a lot. Lovely detail with the strands of hair and the stitches on her kimono. I also like what you've done in the background with the stars, all the little glowy bits around the star look really nice. The things in the background are a little distracting, so much is done so cleanly and so beautifully that the watercolor creatures don't seem to fit. That's really the only thing I can think of that could improve this picture, except maybe some more work on fabric folds, but that's really quite good anyway.

AoD @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 3:42 AM
I've never been much of a Kikyou fan but something out this picture makes me like her a little. The way you drew her gave her a sense of sensitivity.. Not that usuall look that makes me want to slap her.. I love you for drawing the soul steaking demons too! ^.^ love this.

Sumi @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 5:10 AM
It's okay Kaede. Styles take time to get. I still don't have mine after 4 years, and I don't expect one to come to me soon. XD
I like the composition of your picture and how you captured the almost-sad-almost-mad ish look she almost always has. The soul stealers were also a nice touch. (I always forget about them for some reason. O.o;)

Lady_Sea @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 9:05 PM
It can be quite a depressing journey when searching for your style, but do not worry. You'll find it soon. Think of style as your own normal way of drawing and expressing yourself. It's just a matter of making it grow to really truly appreciate it. I think your journey is being reflected in this picture of Kikyo. She has this sense of distress or searching look in her eyes. Like she really doesn't know where to begin. As for commenting, I really like the clothing and hair. It's very neat and the shading as well too. The background doesn't distract from the character too much, but I'm sure if you put a little more work into, it would be top notch. Keep searching, you'll find your style eventually. ^_^

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 6:47 AM
I love those little demons in the BG. The clothing is so nice, I love how you handle the Japanese style clothing. Wow.

Darkrose @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 5:59 AM
ooh, too cool. I really love the concept of this picture, and the black dress/white hair is strikingly beautiful, as well as the white dress/black hair. Also the use of differing skin tones was a nice touch. The poses are lovely and the expressions (calm, serene) are good too.

Kamourian King @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:51 AM
the hair is really well drawen and i love the dresses... ^^

Kaiera @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 10:24 PM
"Opposite" pics always interested me quite a bit :) I like how even their skin tones are contrasted....really gives that opposite feel. The bg seems a bit rushed though o.o Maybe using different colors for each side, such as light blue for the "light" and purple for the "dark, would make it a little less bland. Personally, I like color in the bg :D Aside from that though, I like this image alot ^_^

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 8:07 PM
This is nice. I like the dress design, and the colour scheme. I tried this idea once, but did not pull it off as well as you. The grey background is like a blending of the stark opposites. It brings the piece together well. Nice job!

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 4:39 AM
Wow. i enjoy looking at opposites. so all is well. I the black dress woman has a sephy hairstyle. the shading and highlighting are added with a light touch. The dresses are very creative. One sleve skin tight and has fasionable holes and the other is like most of the stuf i wear. Long open and bell shaped. The skin colors of the woman are unique in the way that i dont see many opp pics go as far as opp skin color. A very nice touch. my onely prob is the BG. I dont like the face that the women have "auras". Though for this pic perhaps it was ment to be that way?

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 6:56 PM
I love the simple, elegant gowns. Everything about these two is elegant! I love the skin tone of the elf on the right contrasting with her beautiful black hair.

An amazing piece! ^_^

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 7:04 PM
That was so neat to see how you did this! A few questions for you though:

1) How do you colour like that? You used solids over the lines, and then erased... at least that's how it appeared in the annimation. How did you know where to erase? Really neat way of colouring, by the way.

2) How did you blur things? I've never seen anything like a blur tool with the oekaki program I've been using (the middle one).

Again, a very lovely picture!

Kaede @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 10:44 PM
I really love the concept and the hair. The profiles are cute too, and I like the shading on the black dress.

Kaede @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 7:22 AM
Ok well, Im on an artist block I can already tell because Ive been.. not sending pictures ive been drawing because a few moments of looking at them and I hate them. But not this one.

I find myself really into Kikyou's character all of a sudden. I didnt like her at all at first, I was basically just wishing she would die and let Inuyasha be, towards the middle of last year I found myself liking her more and more and thats because I took the time to understand her character, and absorb her emotion. She is a character with..... alot of emotion, and I love drawing her. I love trying to bring out that emotion, gathering up all mine and just putting it into pictures of her. She is truely a beautiful character to me now, now that I understand her more. Which is why I sent this. The art stinks, but I hope I managed to capture some of her emotion, even if its just a hair of it. I wish I drew this smaller with inuyasha somewhere like behind her. Ohhhh well. Ill do that later. ^^

Sorry for the crappiness. x.x;

celestial crou @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 11:03 AM
Kikyo huh? Well its got her persona thats for sure. Its all in the eye.

I thnk your dislike is all because this pic is a of a closeup. There really isnt anything that creates an intrest above anything else. The pic is in all neutral colors except for purple. Which is actually taking your eye away from the focal point. assuming the focal point is the eye of course.

Perhaps if you captured a little bit more of the face you might be happier with it?

And what happened to the one pic that looked like fluffy? Nothing looked wrong from the lineart. I thnk your judging yourself too harshly and depriving us of your beutiful works.

Starisan @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 3:35 PM
To be honest, I don't think this is crappy at all. It seems very intense to me, I like the simplicity it can be a refreshing change. I like the purple in the corner, it more interest to the piece. Maybe you incorporate a little more of it, it's quite a rich color. Cheers, you love what you love. Beautiful

oni shi @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:51 PM
mmmm i like the lineartlessness(made new word yay) this is very soft, i noticed right away that it was kikyo, to be honest i never liked her eather but slowly i am comeing around hehe, i like how u picked purple for the back color adds a nice contrast.
sometimes just draeing till u like something gets rid of the block :)
ooo also in the bottom corner there seems to be much skin

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 7:19 PM
The blur of the tear helps to make it more real. This picture has a lot of emotion in it. Nice eye... Oddly close-up, though.

darkrose @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 9:18 PM
Yes, it's s very dark picture. Dark in that deep, emotional way, not that literal darkness (although that too, I suppose). I love the eye, it really brings the focus to it. Is she crying? I can't quite tell... but then I can NEVER make characters look like they're crying, I always have to find a way around it.

Lady_Sea @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 10:16 PM
This picture itself contains alot of emotion that was bottled up. The eye for instance has that sadness in it that is finally releasing tears needed to be shed. I find alot of emotion in this, but I agree with a few of the others. Maybe is a little more of the face was shown, maybe a bit more of emotion could have successfully been captured? Lovely work overall.

DONE! now its a dude. I think i will have him have some form of a relationship with Dante. Course if you just look at the head it looks better fem then mas. SO perhaps a sex change is in order. LOL. Should 'he' be a guy or girl? oh aand the BG is of a desert. I couldnt really show it. but i did my best. SO they (Dante=water, ???= fire) live within their elements.

Starisan @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 3:32 PM

I really REALLY like this style, it seems somehow different from what you did before, but I love it. And the expression is so cute, with the silly grin and the wide, bright eyes. He looks very eager. Great job!

This character reminds me more of a girl then a boy for some reason... So I'm gonna have to go with girl about the gender thing. It's like a drow "Ed" from Cowboy Bebop.
Adorable eyes; as usual <3

Thirdly, I love his expression, it is just so garsh darn adorable. =3

I must say those eyes are absolutely ALLURING. So captivating. I can't stop looking at them. I really like the inner blue and outter green. It gives it a sort of deepness, yet bright and young feel. For some reason, this character reminds me of Relm from FFVI. It must be the hair style and headdress. Another thing I like about this picture is the painty look of the skin. Awesome work ^_^. *two thumbs up*
