Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

I have got to say, I think this is your best sketch to date anatomicly as well as dramatic poseing and movement wise.

I eagerly await the finished product.

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 23rd 2005, 5:41 PM
Shocking! The pose is amazing. I like the contrast of the skin tones.. the colouring and shading is really well done... Her expression is pretty horified.. I wonder where her pupils are, though. She looks almost like a zombie without them - if it weren't for the rest of her expression. And that hair! It's just GORGEOUS! Oh my goodness! So much detail is in that hair! It's lovely!
I agree with the person who said she looked like a singer.

This is KazeKyou with a new name. Got kind of tired being 'ole Kaze. And I haven't kakied in a while, so I'm a little lost for ideas. Just a black and white image of an elf.

I may try to add something else into the blank space later when I can come up with some idea.

darkrose @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 6:23 AM
I don't know, I like it just as is, thanks. It's very simple, very striking with the beautiful shading on his face and ear and the plain black and white for contrast. Beautiful shading on that face, by the way. I think the highlights on his neck and collarbone could have been a little closer to the black lineart, but it's still fantastic with that lovely wild hair and the smooth detailed, well, cleanness of it all. Is that a word? Anyway, I just love it. Great job.

celestial crou @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 7:34 AM
I love love love that hair! *dies* *recesitates* *dies again* *recesitates* I love the flowy feel of it...so pretty. The shading is nice and smooth and the eyes. YOu even added their shadows. The clothing is nice too. Simple and clean. (KH reference) lol. I like it the way it is. to add more would make it gaudy i think.

kyokurrychan @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 1:27 PM

Hmmmm, I really like the style you did this in. I like the background simplicity with the accent lines. I like the cross hatch effect around the outside, it seem like a grapic design like

Jennifer, The Blue Narian @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 1:36 PM
Good to have you back! And nice change from your old stuff. Though it was good too. This is just a different style and it's always good for an artist to be versitile (mangled spelling).

What I like about it best is the contrast of the stark, flat black to the well blended/molded skin tones. It has a real nice design and/or cover art feel to it.

oni shi @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 4:12 PM

I love hair like this. ^_^; It's sorta... a fetish? Anyway, I really like the simplicity of the bg and the way you added tones in there is awesome, because instead of ruining the pic like I do it makes it look even better. >.<;

Lady_Sea @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 10:04 PM
What a nice character design. The name fits nicely with this character. I like his ruffled hair too, it's almost cute ^_^. As for critique, the background contrasts with the character far too much. It's the overload of white. It needs to be at least toned down a little. But overall, nicely done.

Carbuncle @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 10:49 PM
AWW... this is soo lovely I love the ultimately awesome shading it looks soo soo soo.... awesome!! it has such a lovely contrast with the white BG and the black clothes and hair I love it soo much!!! please make more pics soon!!!

Inspired by something that happened to me recently... I'm over it, but it painted a very vivid image in my mind that I just had to draw. I've finally gotten around to it...

Please critique what I've done so far, as I want this picture to be the best it can. I will finish it later, and when I do I will explain it in much more detail.

It still pangs in my heart... So I want what I see in my mind's eye to come out on paper.

darkrose @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 9:11 PM
ok, first thing that comes to mind is that the arm reaching outward is a little too long. Also, when reaching, fingers tend to stretch out, not up. Try looking in the mirror and mimicing the expression, it's easier when you have a point of reference. The boot looks pretty good, but it's bent at an odd angle. Again, try playing with your own foot and seeing how it works. Hands are the supposed nemesis of the artist, although personally hands are second in difficulty to FEET. They're hideously hard to draw. Ooh, also maybe a reference pic for bird's wings, or find a wing style you like. The pair shown here look maybe a little too short...

Sorry, hope that's not too much to think about. It's a great start, good luck!

Queen_Godzilla @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 6:38 AM
You want critique? You got it!

Well, as Darkrose(?) previously mentioned you might want to reference your wings to be more realistic. Here's a reference:

And the crying elf's shoulder needs to be up higher, practically right under her neck. Here's a picture to show sort of what I mean:
http://www.fotosearch.com/comp/sby/sby184/33110LCE.jpg (Look at the lady in the stripey dress)

Also, yeah, shorten the arm there. And, if possible, widen the calf area just beneath the knee. Like so:
As you can see, the calf is widest near the knee, then narrows by the ankle.

The boot might be a little tiddy bit too small for the guy walking away too.

And, uh, the crying elf's face needs to be slightly bigger, I believe. Maybe it would be more pleading if she had her eyes open.

That's all I got.

darkrose @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 12:53 AM
ooh, nice reference pics Queen! The wings one doesn't work... is there a different link for that one?

Here's a REALLY AWESOME site I just found for wings... I think everyone could benefit from this. It's from right here in Alaska, at the Puget Sound University. There are wings from just about every bird you could think of with all the different color variations and patterns you could think of, textures, and all the pretty feathers. Enjoy!

DONE! now its a dude. I think i will have him have some form of a relationship with Dante. Course if you just look at the head it looks better fem then mas. SO perhaps a sex change is in order. LOL. Should 'he' be a guy or girl? oh aand the BG is of a desert. I couldnt really show it. but i did my best. SO they (Dante=water, ???= fire) live within their elements.

Yeah! I love your colors so much, I know I just said that in my previous comment but this is so pretty! I love the eyes, they are very intense and the hat/turban is great too. I also like the wispy way that you did the highlights. Have you seen anyone from class lately?

Great job!

This character reminds me more of a girl then a boy for some reason... So I'm gonna have to go with girl about the gender thing. It's like a drow "Ed" from Cowboy Bebop.

First off before I forget to say it, I love the way you draw eyes. They are always so nice to look at and like, the first thing I look at.
Secondly, his hair rocks. I love the way it is colored.
Thirdly, I love his expression, it is just so garsh darn adorable. =3

I must say those eyes are absolutely ALLURING. So captivating. I can't stop looking at them. I really like the inner blue and outter green. It gives it a sort of deepness, yet bright and young feel. For some reason, this character reminds me of Relm from FFVI. It must be the hair style and headdress. Another thing I like about this picture is the painty look of the skin. Awesome work ^_^. *two thumbs up*

Ok well, Im on an artist block I can already tell because Ive been.. not sending pictures ive been drawing because a few moments of looking at them and I hate them. But not this one.

I find myself really into Kikyou's character all of a sudden. I didnt like her at all at first, I was basically just wishing she would die and let Inuyasha be, towards the middle of last year I found myself liking her more and more and thats because I took the time to understand her character, and absorb her emotion. She is a character with..... alot of emotion, and I love drawing her. I love trying to bring out that emotion, gathering up all mine and just putting it into pictures of her. She is truely a beautiful character to me now, now that I understand her more. Which is why I sent this. The art stinks, but I hope I managed to capture some of her emotion, even if its just a hair of it. I wish I drew this smaller with inuyasha somewhere like behind her. Ohhhh well. Ill do that later. ^^

Sorry for the crappiness. x.x;

celestial crou @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 11:03 AM
Kikyo huh? Well its got her persona thats for sure. Its all in the eye.

I thnk your dislike is all because this pic is a of a closeup. There really isnt anything that creates an intrest above anything else. The pic is in all neutral colors except for purple. Which is actually taking your eye away from the focal point. assuming the focal point is the eye of course.

Perhaps if you captured a little bit more of the face you might be happier with it?

And what happened to the one pic that looked like fluffy? Nothing looked wrong from the lineart. I thnk your judging yourself too harshly and depriving us of your beutiful works.

Starisan @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 3:35 PM
To be honest, I don't think this is crappy at all. It seems very intense to me, I like the simplicity it can be a refreshing change. I like the purple in the corner, it more interest to the piece. Maybe you incorporate a little more of it, it's quite a rich color. Cheers, you love what you love. Beautiful

oni shi @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:51 PM
mmmm i like the lineartlessness(made new word yay) this is very soft, i noticed right away that it was kikyo, to be honest i never liked her eather but slowly i am comeing around hehe, i like how u picked purple for the back color adds a nice contrast.
sometimes just draeing till u like something gets rid of the block :)
ooo also in the bottom corner there seems to be much skin

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 7:19 PM
The blur of the tear helps to make it more real. This picture has a lot of emotion in it. Nice eye... Oddly close-up, though.

darkrose @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 9:18 PM
Yes, it's s very dark picture. Dark in that deep, emotional way, not that literal darkness (although that too, I suppose). I love the eye, it really brings the focus to it. Is she crying? I can't quite tell... but then I can NEVER make characters look like they're crying, I always have to find a way around it.

Lady_Sea @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 10:16 PM
This picture itself contains alot of emotion that was bottled up. The eye for instance has that sadness in it that is finally releasing tears needed to be shed. I find alot of emotion in this, but I agree with a few of the others. Maybe is a little more of the face was shown, maybe a bit more of emotion could have successfully been captured? Lovely work overall.

darkrose @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 2:03 AM
wooooow... purple. <{^ ^}> OK so all jok ing aside this is AWESOME. The metal effect is fantastic, the glow is amazing. The character looks very wild from his appearance, but those eyes are calm. His face is very set, he's obviously a stubborn character. The dark shading under his eyes makes him look formidable, but also maybe a touch weary. The clothing is fantastically designed, complete with jeweled necklace and fur trimmed doublet. The water in the background is immensely eye-catching, and his hair reflects some of the same shifting color and motion as the rest, it blends so perfectly. It's often difficult to make a character really fit into their respective backgrounds, but this is amazing. Good job.

KHatch @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 4:16 AM
I like this a lot. The image is still a cartoon, so to speak, with lineart and whatnot, but it's a very realistic one, with the shadnig and overall colouring absolutely superb. The nose and lips are especially nice, and the shiny look to everything is beautiful. I love it! Very nice.

Starisan @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 3:38 PM
wow, this is cool, very futuristic. I like all the organic lines. It's got a watercolor like quality too it. I also find the electric like background interesting. I think you made a good choice with the green eyes because they are so different fron the rest of your palette so they stand out and seem to glow.

oni shi @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:37 PM
ahh hehe the glowy like strings an his head is like a head hand it on my other image of him but purple anf in this one i wanted it to seem as if it was falling off

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 7:17 PM
First of all, all the detail in this is amazing. Second, I love the colour scheme - very dark and it works. Also the way you've hilighted and made thinks shine are very interesting and it looks uber-pretty.

The character looks genuinely sad, but.. more like just discontented... And you've got a nice background, even though I can't tell what it is. (I think it's a reflection of trees in water, right?)

Awesome picture. Really well done.

Crest @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 5:57 AM

Tigerhawk @ Sunday, January 9th 2005, 2:31 AM
Sweet Geebous ga'hoole! I love the detail in this picture. It almost remined me of Flaming Ketchup's art. Not exactly but some similarities. The glowing rocks (?) are really spiffy. You did more than an excellent job on this.

Queen_Godzilla @ Sunday, February 6th 2005, 4:35 AM
I absolutelye love the colors in this. It's not often that a landscape background is a weird hue. I love how everything has a glow to it. I dunno. Everything's luminescent, and I love luminescence. Really.

His eyes are kinda haunted. It's scary when you look at him. But OH, for those costume details! @_@ ... Lord. The hair string crown, the metal plates, the fur lining, the jewels, the patterned fabric, the spikes, the giant jewel. Whoa... There's so much in this picture. It's rich and I love it.

Nice. I like the variety of tones you used for the skin. The blush on the guy and the darkening of the face on the woman are expecially good. The shirt has a fabric look to it which definatly adds to the depth of the figure. The lips on the woman are SO PRETTY AND SHINY! i love the hair. My only prob is the neck on the woman. It looks a little big and stubbish. Other then that its great!

darkrose @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 10:34 PM
wow, his shirt looks like velvet! Amazing shading there! The crook of his arm under his shoulder looks a little too high to me, but other than that this picture is fantastic. The soft colors in the back and the dark in the light really bring contrast to your two characters.

Well at least for the one who wears them. So.....donno. I think i shall have him be another one of my characters. well a fan pic character. Cause he's a drow. I thnk ill name him Dante.

ANY WAY. this is a very belated gift to all the admin. people who got the Drowtales oekaki up after that worm. Thanks!

sweet! Rock on with shading. You go. Beautiful lineart, and the hair and the background are wonderful, and the shading on his torso and the way you actually made his shirt look like it's soaking up water. Totally excellent. One other thing that wet clothing does is cling, a lot, making large tight wrinkes to itself and the skin and there's color bleeding (depending on the texture and weight of the fabric). Just something to keep in mind for next time <{^.^}>. That tree in the background rocks my world, though.

KHatch @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 4:19 AM
The face is so well done. I like how you have the shape of the head under the hair accutarely done, some people, including myself, have a hard time making sure there's enough head under the hair, or in my case a lot, there's too much head. o.O
The hair is pretty, and the tree in the BG is cute. I like it a lot. YAY!

Loki @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:27 AM
This is definately my favorite of yours! He looks so wonderful in the water like that, and the shading on his skin and shirt is beautiful. The hair is definately the greatest thing out of the whole pic to me, its so nice and different for a change, The go so well with his eyes and his hair and eyes together really give him a pretty and aquatic look, Well done CC! (can I call you that?) <3

Starisan @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 3:30 PM

i like ur style hehe *dies over wet bishi* hehe i like how all the colors ion this are related (blue and yell makes green) i find that to be very pleasing to my eyes i also like how is close are darker due to wetness

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 7:13 PM
I really like this! His hair is cool, and ... I just get the feeling of "I'm a mermaid" from him... it's playing about in his mysterious eyes.

I just love how everybody's art styles differ, yet are all amazing in their own way here at Drowkaki. It's something that I love about this board!

Great picture!

The hair and eyes are so wonderfully done. Definitely love how you do the hair where the tips fade into the white...or the white fades into the blue. XD And the face is so nicely drawn. Very neat. :D

Kaede @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 6:43 PM
=0.......-Benjiman The Spork:.......-
Wow. Me and Benji love this!
This is like, wow. =0
Ok first of all, I love his hair. It is sooo smexy, and nice dun, and the blue tip is lovely. I secondly love his gold eyes. I mean I know Ive said I love the way you draw eyes, but I love the face his eyes are gold more. I love gold eyes they are always so... beautiful. Theres no other word for them. Thirdly, I love his lips, you REALLY did a nice job on the lips, and then the detail to the chest is just grand! I really love his chest.
Now moving on to the shirt. I like how you darkened the coloring to show that his shirt is wet. That is some good detail, that..... >.>; I would of easily forgotten which perhaps is probably why I think it is so amazing. xD Or maybe im just easily amazed hm?...-_- Oh shut up benjiman.
Ok anyway ^^ Aheeem Yes, I must say this is probably my favorite drawing out of all your work. Other than that one picture of yourself. That one was smoking.

Tigerhawk @ Sunday, January 9th 2005, 2:33 AM

Kage Kitsune @ Sunday, January 9th 2005, 10:10 PM

Dante! Wonderful name for your pirate drow.

I love the anatomy on this. I dunno. His face is very delicate and elf-like, very cutesy, very ... bishounen-y. And he's staring off into space! :D

The background is barren, but in a good way. It's subtle. I love how he's half-submerged in it.

KHatch @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 6:39 AM

What is on the end of his hat, you ask? It is a COWPIG!! A mysterious cross between a cow and a pig. Yeah so it looks like a cow, mianly, but who cares.
There ya go, Darkrose XD

Totenmaske @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 7:09 AM
I really love the wonderful colouring in these images KHatch, and frankly the characters are superb. The fact that you had to explain Argpoodle and his hat just seems over the top ? but funny nonetheless. I personally love the cowpig? but that?s mostly because it looks too cute in that over the top tacky way.

The colouring in this image is just amazing, I love what you do with the background in particularly for each cell, and it is simplistic in presentation but so pleasing to look at. Especially in the frame with the hat, the way the hat seems to be radiating. The hat is very nicely textured through the wonderful colouring job not to mention the sense of lighting and definition of Argpoodle himself. The only issue I have, in the colouring department is the odd little circle of yellow, I don?t know if that is a mistake or simply something you wanted to explain in another image ;3 {Edit} Ahh you corrected it, nm then this image is simply a joy to look at now! I like the fact that Argpoodle himself is a little odd in the sense that he has a green and blue eye. Frankly the colouring is fantastic, that?s the best description I could apply to the image overall. It?s thick and playful, and that really carries the image.

The cowpig, well that just seems to be the whole focus of the image in the end, and something that reminds me of Gir?s little buddy Pig in Invader Zim? The things I apply to images astound me? so if there is no real link, just chalk it up to me being just plain freaky. Those eyes, and the little bells? for some reason, when I first saw Argpoodle?s hat I wanted to ask if those were utters or something? I think it?s a little more disturbing that they are bells?

Btw the way you wrote the text in this image, is fantastic, I like the way you have lightened the area behind the writing to help the viewer of the image see what you wrote. Even though I think your writing is very legible, that little addition is welcoming. Just a fantastic image KHatch and I do hope to see more of him, like your Merry Christmas image, this is just adorable.

Interesting... the sloppy lines and colroful shading are reall quite cool. I like it. The hair is nifty, too... I'm not sure, but it's almost like there are different styles of coloring and drawing actually within this piece. It's rather, well, cool... hard to say it otherwise. It's interesting in a good way.

YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starisan drawing! You seem to have kept your drawing style dispite using a mouse. The 'sketchyness' (cant remember what our prof. called it) in the pants shows off all the creases. My favorite part is the hair in this one. I love the different tones and lines used. ok i lied. i love the eye too. Their tied as favorites. The eye is just awsome. You did a fantastic job detailing it dispite its small size.

catboi incubus mishi @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 4:33 AM
Now, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this isn't fantasy - I noticed in your comment that you're not finished, I certainly hope you add in a fantasy element. The sloppiness of her back and leg area bother me, though, perhaps you can go back and clean them up. I do love her hair and the detail you put into the way it's up in the barrette. (:

Totenmaske @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 6:31 AM
Well I personally like the style I have been seeing in the images you have tried to post (even though I gave you a warning ? I personally see a lot of talent in your work) certainly at the moment there is no fantasy ? but I believe you will work that into the image. To be truthful, and this is going to sound rather odd, but this character reminds me of ?The Woman Wrapped in the Sun? in a few of the images by William Blake. Rather odd to suggest that, especially since the image is not completed yet ? but it has style and well I think oddly? ;3

But anyway I personally like what I see, even though there is a sense of ?sloppiness,? in the colouring and well maybe in the slope of the back (though I don?t think it really is that bad, personally I was expecting you to bring out some wings from the back). Now on the subject of using a mouse, it is hard to get used to at first, there are though quite a few artists on the board and other places that use the mouse exclusively. So don?t think it as a crutch, you just have to work at it and over time you will improve. I like the quick pose dolls you make btw that I see in animation.

There are some issues that you may want to do though ? like clean up some of the rough loose line art and colouring. But so far I like the odd style that this is presenting so far. Keep working on this image! I will comment further once this is completed.

oni shi @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 6:05 PM
i like the wings, its hard to use a mouse it takes more time but if u are carefull with the line art then its much easyer to do, i know i used a mouse for a ver long time and finally got a tabby a year or two ago

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 7:10 PM
I like this, especially her cheek. I can feel the emotion coming from this, but for some reason it's not exactly EMINATING from it.

Getting used to drawing with a mouse... did you used to have a tablet? What happened to it?

This is a bittersweet picture... Very nice.

Starisan @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 1:33 PM
UUmmm, thanks for all the comments. No I've never had a tablet, I meant in general because this is my first expirience drawing with the mouse, although I got some practice because my first attempts to post here were accidentially deleted (my computer wouldn't save them...and then i accidentally spammed so I deleted those).

Starisan @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 4:39 PM
well, first drawing done. Pretty happy, I agree that there isdefinately some sloppyniess I need to work on but overall I think I'm gonna like using the mouse once I get used to it. Thanks everyone (esp. Toten) for their help and I just wanted to apologize again for spamin the board. Cheers to all!

Okay, the short version - Argpoodle got killed, Lai'Rena freaked out, prayed to her diety to bring him back, but it was not without a price, she had to sacrifice his beloved riding capybara, and bring it back as an undead....thing....
Now, Argpoodle makes her keep the nasty thing with her at all times, as a reminder of her evil evil ways and how she killed his beloved pet. I must say, this has been a hard picture to draw, because that THING is so gross I had problems colouring it XD

Not only is this funny but it has great animation. Hehe, great background in the last scene. The way you do the shadows works really well. When I looked at I focused on the story which says to me that the animation was really good so it just was a natural progression. Good job! I like her expression in the third panel, slightly mischevious and slightly worried, hah. great job!

olsie @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 1:15 AM

I've always loved your stuff xD

darkrose @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 3:54 AM
ok, so aside from being fantastically drawn, this comic AMUSES me. Oh, yes. Especially that undead capybara with all its guts hanging out and stuff... it's just hilarious. And the really huge hat with the - eh - what's that hanging from it? Whatever. Pure genious.

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 4:30 AM
yea! a comic! You get points! where to start?

well going in reading order...
I love the hair style coloring and highlighting. Though a little sketchy for my taste this really empasizes the individual strands of hair that make up the....hair. However her eye is too simple. (perhaps that is your drawing style?) The second character in the second box has a very cool hat. and i think i shall steal it. I love the highlighting and such. actually you highlighted / shaded the entire comic nicely in your sketchy style. skipping down to the final box I love the witch boys expression. And the "fixed capybara". Nice display of innardes and their various colors.

Kaede @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 8:30 AM
Ok you know what, if you keep drawing like this im going to have a heart attack. It is just soooo good.

Id first like to start off by saying, your coloring is awesome, and I know ive told you before but it doesnt matter because I dont think I have said it enough. Your coloring is so sketchy, and awesome, and it just.. I dont even know how to explain what I think and feel about your coloring. Just lets ay it is really neat. And I love it.

Secondly, the job you did on the expression of Argpoodle in the last box is GRAND. I just cannot get enough of that expression, and then the job you did on the insides of the capybara. I would never be able to do that. Thats awesome. The detail, so much of it, I admire all of it.

The backround now I found interesting. I dont know why exactly, but for some reason its very fun to look at. I just really like to look at it.

You rock, your art rocks, mr capybara rocks, and Cowpig definately rocks. Smexy cowpig. Id like to see more of him.

Ok 1)I classified this as adult because he's not wearing very much other than a loincloth
2) Please do NOT tell me what is wrong with this picture. Somethings have happened in \"the real world\" as I like to call it and all I've been getting lately is all the negative crap. Don't want it. Instead I find it MORE helpful if you would tell me what I did good or improved on. Hello I have eyes too, I can see my mistakes plain as day. I'm my own worst critic. I'm dead serious about this. No this is NOT A RANT. I'm making this clear.

As for my picture, yes I do see he has no nipples. Why? B/c he wasn't born in an embryo and he was geneticly altared. Yes his hair is a little weird. and so is that loincloth looking-thing. One leg is over the other just incase you didn't relize it..

Now, to help you understand this picture----- the feathers represent memories that don't exist but they're there and they're also lost memories from his past life when he was a god. The feathers on on the ethreal plane so insome case they arn't there ither but yet again they're there. (there is no spoon-gag) My character Damon had a tough life.
Please sit back and relax as you read a \"brief\" story about him.

Damon is the reincarnation of the once living god known as Daemon (pronounced -die-A-mon) A few Scientists decided they wanted to bring back this god to find their Goddess Pryrinus (pr-I-rin-us), but the scientist found out he was too powerful to sustain a physical body for them to control so they tampered with his genes. He had to find the Goddess Pryrinus before his 19th cycle or he'll die. His \"mother\" and his \"father\" were the rulers of Olokoss (the 3rd planet of his solar system) like king and queen of the planet. His \"father\" died in a war with the near by planet Solnura and his \"mother\" was assassinated in front of him at his 6th cycle. He than was transfer to a military base called Head Quarters (HQ) It was HQ that killed both his \"parents\" just so they could have him but he doesn't know that, yet. He doesn't even know that he was born in a lab. He learned to control his power at an incredible rate. Damon also met his rival there, Orion ?Pyro? Okuribi, they both became to what we know as \"5 star generals\" the highest-ranking officer you can get to. Now on to Damon's personality, He's very quiet, too quiet sometimes but talks when needed and to throw insults at Pyro. Damon is very arrogant and knows something?s up with HQ but he can't place a finger on it. He's also very intelligent. Damon is also very deep emotional but acts like he has none. Damon has a hard time dealing with love because he's never been in contact with love EVER. Forms of friendship, yes, but love no.

So you see, because he had never been associated with love, he feels much agony and pain. Why I gave him black feathers other than they were \"empty memories\". He's also actually sleeping.
Ok sorry for writing all of this. And thank you for those of you who read what I wrote, I bow to you all. I worship you.

"Opposite" pics always interested me quite a bit :) I like how even their skin tones are contrasted....really gives that opposite feel. The bg seems a bit rushed though o.o Maybe using different colors for each side, such as light blue for the "light" and purple for the "dark, would make it a little less bland. Personally, I like color in the bg :D Aside from that though, I like this image alot ^_^

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 8:07 PM

Wow. i enjoy looking at opposites. so all is well. I the black dress woman has a sephy hairstyle. the shading and highlighting are added with a light touch. The dresses are very creative. One sleve skin tight and has fasionable holes and the other is like most of the stuf i wear. Long open and bell shaped. The skin colors of the woman are unique in the way that i dont see many opp pics go as far as opp skin color. A very nice touch. my onely prob is the BG. I dont like the face that the women have "auras". Though for this pic perhaps it was ment to be that way?

That was so neat to see how you did this! A few questions for you though:

1) How do you colour like that? You used solids over the lines, and then erased... at least that's how it appeared in the annimation. How did you know where to erase? Really neat way of colouring, by the way.

2) How did you blur things? I've never seen anything like a blur tool with the oekaki program I've been using (the middle one).

Again, a very lovely picture!

Usually, if you're doing the 'V' symbol, your thumb doesn't point down, it points out. But that's okay! This is an adorable first picture, I hope to see more of your work. :]

Loki @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 1:58 PM
Hhaha that pencil looks so real! Why? Because the eraser is warn down to a nub! XD so something I have lying around! Good jov on the pastelly colours! they looks very pretty.

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 8:10 PM
Too many things wrong? Haha! I think it's great. The soft almost nonexistant lineart is good, and the colours are wonderfully chosen and shaded. The character design is nice, and I love her little face.
*Chibi-'Rena does the welcoming dance* Welcome to the board!

Aww.. the mermaid is so cute. I love the soft colors you used.
That tail is amazing looking. o_o

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 4:45 AM
a very interesting concept. The mermaid tail is my favorite part. I love the coral detailing of the fin and the highlighing arounf her hips. The mair really reminds me of Chobits. The hands and arms are nicely foreshortened. The pencil is a nice comical touch. though i have no idea what the grey thing is.

She looks quite content.

wow, youre getting better really fast ^^ awesome. i love the face paint stuff over her eyes. and the eyes look pretty cool too ^^;

Lady_Sea @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 9:24 PM
Oh wow!! I love the coloring on this, especially the shading and lighting. She has really nifty looking eyes, green irises, red pupils. Really neat combo. I like the tattoo art on her face. It's really fitting to this character. Good job.

Darkrose @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 10:18 PM
Ooh, I like the snow in the background. It seems a litle choppy, maybe some serious blending could make it look more nifty, but I still like it. Good attention to the depth of the background, too, with all the pockets of green and the hills where roots go and such. I love the green eyes on that drow, and the facial markings are nifty. Her hair seems a little too together, maybe draw some more strands in it like you've got with the bangs there... that might help. But the lineart is crisp and nice looking and I love the eyes, good job getting them the right sizes for their respective locations. So overall great job!

Kamourian King @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:52 AM

I just watched the animation of this, in the afternoon and I thought it was really cool. I noticed lots of details that I didn't notice off the bat. I think your highlighting is great and I love the color of her hair. She looks very pensive.

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 3:05 AM
ohh yeah finall a drow!! I like it the tatoo should have been done in Water color though... you might have considered drawing shines in the eyes also the hair is pretty good although the piece that is hanging down looks kinda like playdough...but it reall is a good pic!!although the tree is funky it is good to have a funky tree every once in awhile!! Keep it up!!

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 8:15 PM
Nice design. The tattoo(?) is interesting, and the shading on the piece is good, it goes with the theme. My only concern is that the eyes have no highlight to them, no sparkle, so the drow seems a little...lifeless. It's a bit creepy X.x

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 4:49 AM
nice face and eyes. A very interesting color combo. The face marking is cool too. I like the snowy atmosphere but i think your need a couple more details to pull it off. For instance the solid blue BG could use some speckles of white. and the ground could use areas of a more complete white then others. Or were you going for a frost as apposed to snow?

Basil @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 11:58 PM
Her hair is quite unique. =o I really like the shading that you incorporated into the facial tattoo, and her eyes are quite nice as well. Lovely image. Bravo!

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 8:18 PM
This is different from your usual pieces. He's happy. Or sorta. I dunno. It seems a lot cleaner and more finished, and the lineart is nice and solid. The thicker outline to the body with the smaller lines for inside detail is a nice touch. Very cool.

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 4:56 AM
wow. I LOVE this one. I think this is my favorite so far. The face is wonderful. The variations of line emphasize the shape of his face and upper body. The skin tones and shading/ highlighting create depth within the thicker outline. Evpecially with the hair. The hair is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And the bg is wonderful for this. An almost smeared approach that also adds action. My only question is whats the red?

Kamourian King @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 11:11 AM

aww.... I wanna pretty kitty. Of course that's how I've gotten into my current predicament, with two cats that HATE each other and one that's more neurotic than a Jhonen Vasquez character... but alas. Your picture is so sad.... hopefully you'll feel better soon <{^.^}>

aww poor kitten *pick him up and feed him*
Well i guess you holidays sucked :/ sorry to hear about that

Harlequin @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 10:07 AM
Well, I know a little bit of what happened. And I've gotta say, I can see how it'd be damn depressing, but don't let that cloud of saddness stick around too long. It's harder to move on if you dwell too long. Though I'm really one to talk about that...

I think my favorite part of this...is the condensed breath. See, that's the type of thing I would forget, and it's those little details that just make an image look right. I like the snow gathering on the tops of the wings, and the flaps of the box, sort of shows how long this little guy has been outside. I love the fur markings, and with a subject so small I personally think it's a bit difficult to get a decent amount of detail as well as color depth in. But on both fronts you've done an excellent job. I like the piece, it's really well done, what inspired it...well, not so much.

Feel better soon Ghis, just don't stay broken up over it for too long.

Aw. I'll keep you in my prayers ;_:. I hope whatever is wrong gets better.

This is really such a depressing pictures. I'm back on my kitty obsession and I want another kitten ;_:. The snow was really nicely done. It has that frostly cold look to it with the blue mixture. The sign behind the kitten was also done well. It has this tattered, beaten up city street like look to it. Did that make sense?
Nicely done. *steals the free kitten*

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:32 PM
It looks like you were feeling lonely, I'm sorry if that's the case. I think this image has a beautiful glow to it and the ralism is great. The box definately has depth and the Kitten seems to have good substance in the box. Great technique and a powerful feeling that comes across.

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 8:19 PM

I like this piece, though. The emotion is well expressed and the kitty is well drawn. The taped up note is just wonderful, but yet so so sad.
I like it. It's sad, but I like it.

indeed. This is depressing. Such a cute little kitten. Kinda reminds me of my cat when he was a kitten. Malnurished and pitiful and yet the only thing he wants is to be loved. This is a very emotional piece.

The snow is colored nicely. adding varaitions. The old box is ...well..old and ...a box. Nice job shading the box and creating the soggy falling apart apearence. and the bricks and sign are shaded nicly as well.

Okaaaaaay! That's pretty freaky! XD Still, the female Sephiroth's kinda cute! ^w^

The only thing bothering me with this pic is how the freaking out Sephiroth's mouth is drawn. Maybe oyu should try to draw it whole next time, 'cuz it almost looks like a beard like this. ^w^;

Darkrose @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 9:21 AM
Yeah, I'm all for distortion but that's a little overdone... on the mouth, that is. Other than that, excellent work... I love female sephy especially :)

Harlequin @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 10:34 AM
Ok, I'm going to start this off with my nitpicking. Now, sure Sephiroth's mouth looks a little odd, but I'm going to focus on the skintone of the female version. It almost looks like you used grey at a low opacity for one layer of shading, then used brown tones for the rest. Needless to say, it looks a little strange. Also, the shape of her eyes isn't the same. What I mean is the eye to the left most side of the piece is angled down slightly, particularly at the edge opposite the tear duct, the other eye however is angled up. It looks a little odd. Paired with her not having eyebrows that is. In addition to all that, the coloring style seems to be conflicting. For instance, the yellow on the woman is blended and soft looking, but the skintones are cel-shaded, as is Sephiroth's clothing. I know that's a lot of criticism, but it's all important. I love the idea here, but I really think there's more that could be done. Just keep all my nitpicking in mind for the next piece you do I suppose.

Harlequin: If you've ever worked with lighting for the theatre, you'd know that it is possible to get weird lighting and shadows like this (as well as much stranger). But you are right. It does look odd.

I think the whole picture is odd.

catboi incubus mishi @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 6:52 PM
I like the idea, but the way you executed the image, well, is sort of sloppy. I'm sorry to say that, because it's a really cool image, but it seems as if you churned it out without too much thought. The lineart and colors just seem a little hurried. ^__x;; Sorry. I love the idea, though, like I said - the Stepford Wives is one of my favorite movies.

The eye is a little too close to the side of her face I think. Though I like the solid coloring...but there's one thing I notice. Some colors have stark shading, like the box and Kari's shirt, while others have really subtle shading, like the skin on both of you, and the greys used for Kari's tail and ears. Of course that's just little stupid stuff I seem so capable of picking out. lol

Darkrose @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 10:24 PM
Hmm... nice background. It looks a tad sloppy, but that's ok. You can still clean up some edges and things, just fix the bleeding against the wall with the scarf and the wardrobe and pay the same attention to shading on the background as you did with the figure, because that's still fantastic. And he has no feet! <{0.0}>

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 10:27 PM

Carbuncle @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 3:49 AM
awesome! I love the shading and purplyness! the spikes on the shoulder look kinda flat but keep it up!

Darkrose @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 9:25 AM
cool story idea, and awesome design. I love the incorporation of different costume ideas into this, and his hair is fantastic. I also like the two finger-smudges on his face of warpaint or tatooing of some kind, nice.

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:47 PM
damn, i love the hair, and the outfit ^^ and your style is so awesome

kool char all around =P

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 5:25 PM
Nice partial profile. Great to have you back on the board! I really love the nose. ^^

Lady_Sea @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 9:50 PM
I have to say, my favorite part of this picture is the coloring. Mostly the coloring of the hair for some reason *_*. I like how drew his lips and ears. Tis nicely done. His clothing has a unique but cool and original design as well. I especially like how you drew the blood on his face. Like it was smeared ^_^. Awesome. The background story sounds cool so far. It's a nice concept.

Kaiera @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 10:31 PM
I love your style :) Very cool. Outfit is awesome...personally, I can never come up with good outfits ><;; I'm so bad at it. Colors remind me of marker...or airbrush :D

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:36 PM
whoa! Now that's awsome hair! I luuvv the metallicy feel to it. Looks like he's smirking....is that so? I think the shoulder armor also came out particularly well.

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 5:16 AM
WOW. impressive highlighting. The variations in line thickiness really pull the figure to your eyes. Nice name too.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 6:00 AM
You know what? I LOVE HOW YOU COLOR!! It's always so vibrant and shiny. I love that. And you've always got pseudo-sketchy lineart, which to me is always a good thing. Neat...yet still sketchy. Lovelymous (yes...that's right...it's not a typo...LOVELYMOUS!) So shiny...so very shiny...

Basil @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 11:41 PM
At first, I thought to purpley things on his armor were Christmas lights! X3 I really like the face, and the shading and the hair! Gorgeous!

Wow, my first picture here so far. This is just the begining and stuff. But anyhow, this is a character of a friend of mine's. Phantasy. This is me attempting to show his "sweeter side." If there is one. I just need to color it. Hope you like it.

Comments and critiques and like...suggestions, they are always welcome.

kyokurrychan @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 9:17 PM
so far i like it ^^ i cant wait to see it colored <3

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:17 PM
O.o he's pretty i cant wait to see this done... 1 thing tho, the arm is a bit miffed looking at the elbow, but all else looks awsome!! *waits for color*

Olsie @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:31 PM
There should be a lot of different kinds of flowers in the background... xD just a suggestion.
His visable arm looks alittle bit lumpy; you may want to flatten it alittle once you get back to this :)
I love your characters face; it shows great atyle :)

Ghislain WildCat @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 7:54 AM
I like it pretty much so far. Can't wait to see it colored! ^w^

Oh! and I like the wing design! pretty original, I think!

Darkrose @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 9:27 AM
mmm... scribbles. I like it so far, although the arm closest to us looks a little something, not sure. Uneven, maybe, you could try to make the forarm and the upper arm more straight and even them out a little. Other than that, the hands, wings, and eyes look really good. Welcome, keep going!

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:48 PM
that is really good ^^ i love the char disine... cant wait to see this done

BreeWinde @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 3:32 AM
Thankyou for the nice comments. I am okay with lineart, and horrible at coloring. I am not used to coloring on the computer, so its something i need to get used to, but I wasn't like, horrified by the product, though I wish I was better at coloring. Alas, some things take time.

My b-day is tomorrow (Jan. 2nd) But I will try and draw another picture for tomorrow, and comment some more. <333

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 5:22 PM
Great pose. I like how it's all solids and you avoided lines. The folds in the shirt look the best.

Lady_Sea @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 9:59 PM
I really like the lack of line art in this picture. I like how it's just colored and very neat without any lines. Th eonly thing that bothers me is the bendy-ness of the arm facing us. It bends upwards strangely. Another thing is is that a background could have been put in to compliment the pretty character. Like a garden or forest. But what am I complaining about, I find bg's the hardest part to draw in a picture XD. Lovely work!

Darkrose @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 10:27 PM
Ooh, me likies. I especially like the shading on his pants and hair... and good job with fixing the arm. I like it a lot now. The whole thing is very cute and colorful, and the multiple varied shades used to add depth are really quite appealing. Good job adding texture with that, as well, with the large smooth wings (do they actually attatch to the body, or do they float behind? Either way would be a cool story...) to the wrinkled brown shirt. He looks very casual. Great job!

Kamourian King @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:54 AM
that style is so kool you colored in ^^ i like seeing other do the no line art style once in a wile ^^

this looks wonderful done^^ good job

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:39 PM
This one has a very distinctive style to it. It seems like a thoughtful piece. I like the style of the wings because they seem to have a very elegant shape. My only question is about how they are attached. You use very vibrant colors that are effective, a consistant color pallete. cool!

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 12:47 AM
I like this pic the shading is awesome and I love the folds of the shirt and the purple hair his hand bothers me though it looks a little bent in a wrong way and the thumb is soo little compared to the rest of the fingers the background is just orange but there is nothing wrong with that (to me anyways) but I have often had comments to make better backgrounds but I really like the no background thing *^_^*

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 5:18 AM
wow. All solids. The shirt hes wearing is very well made. The shading and highlights really show the light source. I think i like the wings best. NEATO!

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:50 AM
Oooh...lineless. I love lineless...though I've never done it. lol Solid coloring and lineless art just seem to go hand in hand. Maybe that's why I've never tried a lineless piece...I suck at solid shading. lol The sherbet looking background color just...well it makes me smile. lol For some reason this just makes me think of an old game character in close up. It's sorta grainy, not terribly detailed, solidly shaded...but still looks good. Interesting...very interesting.

Basil @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 11:39 PM
Anthrooooo! *Adores* I love how the picture is basically without black lines. The solid shading technique is very unique- J'adore! Bravo!

Ahh, finally done. =] I hope you all like it. It took me quite a while to finally figure out what I wanted to draw. ._.
Anyway, this is Neferet Pamiuw. She belongs to me. She is also a Sphynxtaur- Like a centaur only with lion/Egyptian additions.
So yes... Enjoy!

Darkrose @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 6:39 AM
is not finished now!? It's simply gorgeous! I love the shading on the hair and, well, everything actually... and the Egyptian influence in outfit (especially the inclusion of the scarab there...) and hair as well as form chosen. The wings, the lion's body, and dark hair in that style... the whole things screams 'EGYPT' which is really nifty. Like I said, I love the shading... on her torso, the gold collar and bracers, and wings and rump... just wow. If it's not done now I don't know what could possibly be done to make this look more finished and COOL.

BreeWinde @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 7:22 PM
Wow, really lovely work. I really like your character design, very orginal and pretty. The wings are wonderful. Keep up the great work, hun. <3

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:21 PM
ahh beautiful colors! i love all the golds and browns with thats splash of blue sky. this character is so snazzy.

Ghislain WildCat @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 7:57 AM
Wow! I really like the idea of a sphynx centaur! You did a pretty good job at drawing one too! Plus, the lighting and coloring are REALLY nice.

Maybe I should draw her with Cleo (my own sphynx-anthro character) one day?

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:49 PM
i love the wings ^^ and awesome char disine as well.... beautiful

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 4:35 PM
Beautiful creature, colours, and tones. Quite Egyptian, indeed. This is a VERY, very lovely picture! ^_^

Wow! O.O <--- (look of amazement)

Lady_Sea @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 10:05 PM
Amazing work. The line art and the coloring is just absolutely superb! I like the lil glowing highlights on her shoulder and end too ^^. The shading is so well done. This is just beautiful work, especially the desert and pyramid in the bg. The wings are really something to look at as well. I like how you did the varying colors of the feathers from a tan to a golden. This is a really awesome character design. Excellent work, especially on the gold jewelry.

Kaiera @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 10:51 PM
Lovely lovely indeed :) beautiful hair.....but I think what really catches my eye are the wings. Masterfully done. Excellent solid shading to boot.

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 12:40 AM
awesome character!! I lurve centaur people!! I love tte whole thing except the wings they might be a lil bigger if they were to carry her anywhere!!

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 5:21 AM
I LOVE THIS! the sphinx is awsome! I love egyptian stuff. But with a hint of Assyrian. The figure could also fall under a Lamasu statue. The hair is very egyptian and the wings are SO cool. The BG is origional. The fact that its all in watercolor empaasizes the figure all the more. Very cool.

(Edited on January 5, 2005, 5:25 am)

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:45 AM
Ooh man...this makes me wanna draw that sphinx girl I did back before the board got consumed. lol Hmm...maybe I'll draw her again sometime...yeah...maybe maybe.

I love the cel shading here. Solid cel shading even. I personally just can't work in solids. You've got a nice sense of depth working here. I love how the wings change to that gold color at the ends. That's always a nice touch to have. The desert background with the pyramid though a little stereotypical of egypt are a nice touch. Very nice overall. I love the whole idea of the Sphinx...and of course...the riddle of the Sphinx. It's amazing how few people actually know the riddle and the answer. But not the point. lol Nice image, and egyptian inspired ALWAYS wins!

Chime @ Wednesday, January 19th 2005, 7:21 PM
Gorgeous. I adore the coloring on this, especially the way you add a touch of watercolor (yes?) . Though the lineart is slightly choppy, and the color bleeds in a few spots, this is amazing. I especially like her hair, (Head and tail).

Queen_Godzilla @ Sunday, February 6th 2005, 3:25 AM
Sphinxataur, eh?

Good: Lovely character design. I don't think I've seen one of these before. It utilizes gold and tan very well. I just wish we could see more of her bodily structure. Her legs are a mystery right now. I love her demure expression and just how her entire posture is arranged too. Very Egyptian-like.

One thing I'd like to see improved in this piece is her arm length. Her arms are just a bit too long, from where I'm sitting. They seem out of proportion with her body. Also, it seems the hindquarters are raised very high when they shouldn't be. I dunno.

Wow! I Actually like this picture ^.^ I spent more time developing the shading, and working on the background((Its supposed to be a brick wall...)) and Im very fond of the litle spider *points* I fit in. Thats supposed to be face paint, and I think her right eye((The one to the left of the canvas)) is a little bigger than intentionally wanted... Comments, Criticism, and Suggestions are welcome ^.^

Darkrose @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 6:37 AM
OK, yeah so the right eye is a little too big... but this is really good! I like the detail you used putting together the outfit and face markings, and might I say MUCH better use of lineart on this one. The whole thing seems to flow much better, with the thinner lineart and the more detailed shading. Beautiful job. *tickles spider* so cute!

BreeWinde @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 7:24 PM
Very interesting face makeup. Both imaginative and creative. It looks really nice. I like the style of cloak too, where is crosses in the front. Wonderful drow.

Basil @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 7:44 PM
Interesting facial tattoo/markings. I like the red tips to her hair. The spider's web in the background almost looks like scales after a while. o.o Overall, pretty nice picture. Bravo!

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:27 PM
ahhhh i like the spider aswell and i also really like the wall behind it it gives the impression of imperfect stones, the face paint is very neat and i like her hair very much, now for a little bit of a crit, the arms see a little to thin and the chest to hight and thin kinda inporotionate but other than that i love this image. i hope to see more of your art!

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:50 PM
this is really neat ^^ but you need to work on the shadeing more, blending them together.... and the BG is really kool ^^

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 5:21 PM
The shading and hilighting on this pic is weird - it looks kinda watery or glassy - hard to put my finger on it. I like the tilt of her head and the facepaint a lot, though! ^^

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 3:11 AM
yay another drow pic!! yay for you the shading is oksy but it could use some work the tatoo is done in watercolor and looks betterthan the other one the chest is a little high and shoulders are a tad small and where is the light source ? I like the hair it has a kwel look to it and you might want to think about blending your lines a little more... Keep it up !

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 5:28 AM
wow. Almost looks like a butterfly landes on his face. A very interesting marking. And the bg is spooky. the fact that red is the only active warm color really makes you focas on the face. empasizing the odd colored eyes.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:41 AM
You know...there is one thing about this that I noticed right off, and I hate to mention something like this at the beginning of a comment, but her head is a little too big for her body, and her arms are too small. Though I know I tend to have problems with hands...they're either too big or too small...every damn time. The facial tattoo was a nice touch, but some of the edges are still really sharp while others are fairly blurred. I'm going to do the same song and dance I do on so many images...have you ever tried the bezier tool? It helps make the lineart SO much smoother. Then again I do *swear* by the bezier now. lol
