Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

Hi there dear drowtales kaki people!! my first picture here. timer might be off, heh. doing nine things at once... thats not good... anyway, hiiiii!

Tigerhawk @ Sunday, February 20th 2005, 7:29 PM
Yo! Welcome. (don't forget to read the rules. We have people on this site who'll tear you apart if you don't) and don't forget to comment (5 comments=1 picture) Done with a mouse it isn't so bad. I like the "ear ring" lol i like the purple lighting where that ball is. the coloring in the eye is really good.

krypto @ Sunday, February 20th 2005, 7:46 PM
yo wassa tiger. just popped in, lol. really five comments = one picture??? awww.... wonder what happens if i dont... lol, anyway, thank you so much for the comment!!!

catboi incubus mishi @ Sunday, February 20th 2005, 8:08 PM
It's in the rules, I certainly hope you read them - "Being in a hurry is not an excuse, if you can find 30 minutes to draw a picture online, you have 20 seconds to write up a comment or critic on other images on the board." You need to comment on at least five other images - and that does not count your own.
Now, as for the image - it has a wispy feel to it, almost like she's carved out of smokey marble. I really like the two curls of hair near her chin, I really wish you had carried out that idea throughout the whole image. My suggestion, rather than draw the whole thing in watercolor, is to use solid at first, then shade with watercolors to give it a cleaner look. I like the little lines on her face, she looks like cracked marble, it would have been neat if you had continued that in the whole image. Lastly, which hand is she holding up? By the way her fingers are positioned, it looks to be her left, while the way it's positioned on the canvas makes it look to be her right hand. Anyway, nice first post, and please follow the rules, it'll make everyone happy. :3

Amazing coloring. I like it. o.O

krypto @ Sunday, February 20th 2005, 11:53 PM
Uh....these rules are a bit odd... lol, I don't want to change them or start a revolution here, but in my opinion, you're just pushing ppl to comment even though they don?t want to. I think that you should say something if you ACTUALLY have something to say... not to make it up just to get your comment count up. Well in any case, ill follow your rules, hehehe.
Yeah the hand... shoulda put more effort into it. DONT MIND IT. It?s my first pic here. I just wanted to see how the mechanics of this oekaki board work (the retouch and et cetera)... it?s her left hand btw. lol XD will take advice of drawing my lineart (if I ever had one:S) more clearly. Peace out!

catboi incubus mishi @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 12:16 PM
It's a give and take process, Krypto. If you expect people to comment on your work, you should comment on others - because they want comments, too. It's not a peculiar rule at all, in fact, it's one of common sense and courtesy.

krypto @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 3:46 PM
there\'s such a thing as too much courtesey you know. i actually dont care if you comment or not. i just post for the art, not for the comments.

It's just nice manners...a reflex of most people...all about fairness.
Very nice drawing btw :o

windblade @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 8:28 PM
I'm going to be with Mishi on this.
Maybe YOU don't want comment, but other people want/need them. Some of us actually want to improve, and tips from other artists are always welcome. And please don't tell me it wouldn't bother you to see that people commented on every other pic except for yours.
Now, on the pic... the shading is a bit strange, as if the light didn't come from anywhere... or, actually, it's as if the light came from everywhere at once. You have a good grasp of the general shape, it's just the shading that would need a bit more work =)

krypto @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 8:56 PM
oh god, no i woulnd't mind. i will follow the rules, k? i just find them odd cause this is the first oekaki board that HAS such rules.
ANYWAY, lets drop this subject. My shading is odd i know. but i was lazy so BEH. plus this was meant to be a practice pic... wish tehre was a board like that here.... :(

This is Moriona my black Asperi Nightmare! Asperi\'s are usually and only white to a pale light-blue.
Moriona is some Elvish language for \"dark gift\" I\'m pretty sure it\'s Tengwar. Mori is Kal\'s best friend. He helped her from getting bit by a werewolf but he was to late. More on the story but my hands hurt.
Alrighty then! The picture is complete. I'm really happy with how the leaves came out. Time may be wrong because I was commenting for a minute or so. The fireflies came out alright. Sorta reminds me how I made stars in Photoimpression with my mouse before my tablet. Gwad I really dislike that program.

Have any questions, comments, things you can\'t stuff in your head?

Little Elf @ Tuesday, February 22nd 2005, 7:29 PM
Oh wow, very pretty. That flowing mane righ thur is superlishious....G.... XD Yeah. The BG is nice. It really gives the effect of tall grass, and the fireflies are nice. I think they could use a little more emphasis though. The shading on the horse is nice. I can see the muscles and stuff! ^_^ good job.

Tigerhawk @ Wednesday, February 23rd 2005, 12:58 AM
The backgrounds suppose to be gaint leaves, like from an untouched forest. *dreamy sigh and smile* Next time if I do something similar I won't blur the leaves as much. Thankies ^^

looks mean, but beautiful too, all calm and peaceful but moody. the shading is great.... and if i am not wrong the lines are purple instead of black, which look really nice, the subtle background looks just like a mysical forest!!! with faries like the ones out of the legend of zelda games. the bright red eye stands out really well. is very good yes.

Time for a real comment, huzzah! Well, since I don't know French, I'm not even going to bother with that. ^^; The first thing that struck me about this image is the thick and somewhat sloppy lineart - I think it would have looked better if the lineart were thin and sloppy, or thick and clean, like it is in her shoulder and arm area. I don't much like the bold green background, it doesn't go well with her red and black outfit to me. O: I really like the shading on her socks and her skirt, the plaid looks really good. :DDD The perspective on the table and mirror seem slightly off, but I can't say how. I like the added in wings. ;]

Verna_Venisa @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 12:08 PM
This is very pretty, i like the concept quite a bit. However, the table seems rather ackward looking to me. If this was a real table, it would be slanting downward toward us ((as cool as that would be)) ><; It also looks like the table would be morphing into the wall, because of the lack of ground-ness. Other than that though it looks great. I like her skirt, the plaid is cute ^^

Prismatic @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 1:33 PM
This is really quiet pretty. Wonderful job on the pose!~ And I really like how you carried the shadows through out the picture. Her outfit is really pretty and I like the slope to her wings. Even the image in the mirror seems to line up well. I have to agree that perhaps the table seems a bit awkward however.
I really like what you do with the shading. It brings a lot of depth to the picture~ Almost ready to get a translator so I can read your quote.

Segzhan @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 5:00 PM
Funny people likes the clothing. In that assignement, we had to draw ourselves as the main character of the story-song (see my second picture for explanations of the project). So it is me, with my clothes. ;p

darkrose @ Saturday, February 26th 2005, 10:42 PM
Well the coloring is definitely improving. I like the plaid skirt, it's very nice. The lineart bothers me, I'll be honest... but maybe you can do your regular thick scribbled lineart and then start a new layer over the top and just go over it in a thin, solid line? That might clean it up a lot, because your skill is obviously there.

Ikena @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 5:55 PM
I cant read it, tho the pic is nice.
The perspective seems a bit off tho it kinda suits the mood of the pic. I must say that I ove her skirt =3

Aah, what can I say?

XD Agression's face makes me laugh. It's that evil grin with those doofy eyes. So cute (well, despite the blood.)

Despair looks appropriately gloomy. However, maybe (s)he should be a bit darker. I noticed already that the color saturation was less than the other creatures but if it was darker it would work with the black more.

Absence -- I thought it'd be neat if (s)he was see-through. Heh. more absent then, eh? But as it is, (s)he is already half-gone and is different from the other ones.

And Self-Loathing -- Are the yellow orbs supposed to be eyeballs? Or... what? It's kind of creepy. Okay, it's REALLY creepy. XD MAKE THE SCARY STOP.

This is very pretty. Her hair looks great with the littel details with the lighting and stuff. The little fire/dragonflies?? are nice with their greeness. The little trails they leave are pretty. If you were going for the blurry effect, I think you should've used the watercolor tool for her eyes. They kinda stand out. I like your signature at the bottom! I's all prettyful... XD Nice job.

darkrose @ Saturday, February 26th 2005, 10:37 PM
I always love how soft your shading is, even when things get a little wonky in the lineart and anatomy areas your pictures are ALWAYS pleasant to look at just because of how well they flow. The hair is gorgeous, I love how it spills out over her arms and the ground, and the little glowy magic bits are very cool indeed. Her expression is soft and amused, which fits perfectly, and the background is just the right texture and color to really bring it all together. Wonderful job.

First of all, welcome to the board! Very interesting character, but what first struck me was how the background clashed with her - I don't like the use of orange for the background, it doesn't look good with her red hair. Perhaps it could have worked better with a red, and a darker shade of grey. Now for the figure - Angelus, yes? Anyway, I have to say, her cloak, outfit, and the stone she's kneeling on all melt together too much. I would have suggested slightly different shades for at least the rock, perhaps a lighter grey, or even with a brownish tinge. Now for her face, it has a masculine feel to it, I think because it's so oval-like. I probably wouldn't have known she was a woman had you not said it in the description, and I really had to look close for her breasts. (Wow, that sounds perverted~) Her .. artificial eye, I'm assuming, is quite interesting, I like the black marks running down her cheek. I especially like the shading on her gloves, it really suggests a shiny leather, although that component is missing from the rest of her outfit. That's a mighty difficult pose you did, and you pulled it off quite well. I think her feet look bit, and lack the detail the rest of her clothes have. As for her cloak, like I said earlier, it melts in with the rest of her outfit, and doesn't stand out much. I like how you gave it highlights near the top, you probably could have given it more on the lower part of her cloak, as well. Finally, her hair. I really like how it's flowing in the way that it is, although I would have opted for a light light shade of red, a pink as a substitute for the white highlights. They seem too harsh to me.
But. This is a very very good first submission, and I really look forward to more of your work. (:

darkrose @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 7:40 PM
I have to say this is really excellent. The crouching pose is beautifully done, the shading is fantastic, her hair is pretty and swirly. She looks like an assassin <{^.^}> So welcome to the board! It's lovely, fantasy themed, well drawn, over the time limit, and generally wonderful. Congrats! Not many new people get a grasp of the rules on their first try.

Prismatic @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 8:58 PM
Hmm. I think this is really well done, especially for your first submission!~
Welcome to the board~
Her pose is excellent, as has been said before. You even got the hands correct. something I'm horrible with. Let's see.. Her outfit is really nifty. And as has been stated the shine on her arm thins is really well done, making it my favorite part of her outfit.
Now.. for blending into the shadows this definatly wasn't a bad start~ I think adding more shading of dark as it gets farther away from the light would of helped with the depth of the shadows. So.. you could sort of start with the grey that's on her pants and end in an almost blacky charcoal color in the left corner of her cloak and shadows. Wow, hope that made sense.
The only thing that seems off to me is the highlighting of her hair. Her hair is really pretty, and the swirly parts of it are groovy... but in the shadows there probably wouldn't be highlights. At least not all the way down where the rest of her is in the shadows. I could be wrong though.
I like the background. It looks almost as though she's hiding in the shadows of a fence or something, with light shining through.

catboi incubus mishi @ Friday, February 18th 2005, 9:21 AM
Well, my suggestion would be to have quite a bit less orange and more grey/black - or at least, like I said earlier, substitute red for the orange. I think the background probably isn't suited for a 'disappearing into the shadows' deal, it reminds me more of a room with holes in the ceiling, and light is pouring through. Which, actually, is really cool. XD Maybe nest time you draw her, you could have her in a dark alleyway, or in the midst of trees. Make her more shadow than substance. :)

"...It's hard at the end of the day. I need some distraction, oh, beautiful release
Memory seeps through my veins.
Let me be empty and weightless, and maybe I'll find some peace tonight...
It's easier to believe in this sweet madness, oh, this glorious sadness that brings me to my knees...
In the arms of an angel, fly away from here...
You are pulled from the wreckage...
You're in the arms of the angel - may you find some comfort there..."

Pepper, I'm sorry for this. I wish we had more time together. These short weeks weren't nearly enough for me to tell you or show you just how much I loved you. I'm sorry I never let you sleep on the bed with us when I was there, because I was allergic to you and didn't want to be stuffy in the morning...I'm sorry I would push you away when you tried to get into my lap as I pulled my socks on...I'm sorry I didn't spend more time with you, and never told you enough how much I loved you.
They say all dogs go to heaven - for this, I'm going to have faith. I miss you, Pepper, and I love you so much. I'll see you again someday.

In memory of Pepper.
I'm so sorry Taren.

I think this is done now? Hehe! I love it. It's so cute! ~~ Their expressions are great!
The way you shaded it with pixels and solids gives it a sort of whimsical feel. Very good for spring time. And, everything seems to have a movement to it. Especially the trees.

Karasu @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 1:38 AM
I cant be too sure whats going on here, but I can critique the technique you used in the picture! I think the bushes were done FANTASTIC! first off. And secondly, I think that you did a really good job on the yellow parts on the boy there....(the clothes), but I think that they could use a lttle more shadow here and htere (once again saying the bushes and trees are fantastic) but i do adore the little 4 leaf clover action. : )

Nice use of brush strokes and halftones. They work together quite nicely. Gives it more of a traditional media feel too.

woah. You really made a big effort for the shading and the highlights! All the folds in Loki's robe are AMAZING! That fireball looks pretty cool too! (Is it me, or is the side of his hat catching fire? =p wouldn't surprise me, it'd be Loki's style!)

Thanks a lot, Ghis!

Ghislain WildCat @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 1:44 PM
*to windy* Well, It's more like the fireball reflecting on the hat than anything... but seeing it your way, it's true that this little lighting effect could be turned into his hat starting to catch fire. XD

Bad windy! You managed to turn one of my rare serious pics into a humorous one! XD

darkrose @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 5:31 PM
ooh, is fantastic! Beautiful job with the folds in the cloth, and details like stiching are important! Everything looks really great especially lineart wise. My only comment would be a lack of contrast between shaded and lit areas... fire has a nasty habit of throwing darker than normal shadows and bright orange/yellow highlights... you've got the highlights down pat, all that's missing are the black spots. Still, it's excellent work, and it's good to see your art again. <{^ ^}>

Prismatic @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 9:04 PM
Very nice pose. I am especially fond of the clothing and hat. Ths shading and highlights are magnificant. And the details to it are wonderful.. such as the stitching.

wow, the first think that caught my eye about this picture is the wonderful and intricated coloring/lighting/shading on the skirt! I think it was dont just -perfectly-, however i think that the shading on the face could use a little more contrast, as well as the wand (the wand jewel seems to stand out too much and the stick part of it doesnt seem to stand out at all) I can see you put a lot of effort into the clothing so I give you that credit!

Not that it's a requirement for beauty, but it shows a skill that few can perfect...and I think you're pretty darned close to perfection here. I love how you captured the motion, honestly, I think it's just fabulous. Happy V-Day, everyone! Here's to every person who's going to spend the day of lovey-dovey cuddling sickness locked in their rooms with computers, video games, and single serving pizzas. Cheers!

This is Melia, she's a Djernak which is a creature of my own devising. Basically they're low elves as upposed to high elves, they are shorter and stockier than high elves, with longer ears (ususally with fur although in some circles it is expected for that to be removed) and long tails tipped with fur like a lion's. The fuzzy thing beside her is Simalea, her familiar. All Djernak are born with a nickling (that creature's kind) familiar that they live with until death. They resemble a fox, but not as long or as lanky, they have longer fur, larger eyes, a shorter snout, smaller paws, and two antannae that glow according to mood and lighting. Also they have a pair of small and cute (but funcional) pink wings on their backs.

Melia was taken from her home as a smaller child and brought as a slave to one of the elfin cities, where a rich and somewhat perverted old elf bought her and took her to his private castle to be raised in his harem. She is the favorite, and all her needs are taken care of and so she has no reason to run away. She still misses her brother on occasion, though, as in his picture.

Happy Valentine's Day!

First of all -- that costume really caught my eye. Eeeeeexcellent. I like the dangly beads and the heart design around the rim of the lingerie. A very detailed costume, for a very rich girl X3.

And good job with the implied city in the background. Just enough detail to specify what it is, but not enough to make it stand out overly much.

Beautiful, Windy. Your Dhell works always stand out so much, and this one is no exception. I love his pose, it's so sad, he looks like he's trying in a futile manner to crawl away from danger. I love the glow of white then blue around him, it's lovely. His blue blood always intrigued me, and you illustrate it so well. I think, if he were to have red blood, it wouldn't look as beautifully tragic. I love his wings, they're so beautiful and blood-splattered. His antennae are fuzzy and soft looking, they're actually kind of cute. x3; I like how we can't see his face, it really brings out a larger sense of pity for him. Poor pretty Dhell. *hugs him*

i don't want to sound crule or anything or sound like I'm doing this cause I don't like you (don't get any thoughts in your head cause I don't) but you're always asking to be a better artist. iIn my point of view the neck seems a little to long, and the face. I'm not to sure why it's bugging me but I think its to oval. Can't really say. It could be the hair that makes it seem that way though. I can't really say what you were intending to do so I won't say it's wrong or anything. Because I believe you can do no wrong in art. Many artists would disagree with me but, eh, I don't care what they think.
Over all I believe it is a really good picture.

Very nice lady. I think I like this design best for his wings. Not sure about the entenas, thier more moth like then butterfly and yet that sort of suits him. What I like best is the colors and the sense of light like his wings are almost glowing dispite or threw the blood.

Only thing that bothered me was his head shape till my eyes focused properly and I realized that was his ear. Then it looked fine. Sorry, I see things oddly sometimes.

windblade @ Monday, February 14th 2005, 1:51 PM

The lineart is so crispy I just want to crunch it all up!
The way the hair falls on the shoulders is a nice touch, and the pretty highlighting is oh so shiny!
Very cute.

Prismatic @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 10:10 PM
I like the color combination. They're cute. the lips and nose are really well done! The bright colors in this are great. And I like how their hair just has a sudden change of color. And the carrying through of red throughout other parts of the picture~
The background is all nifty like too. I like the solidness of it with all the little crescents

Amary-chan @ Thursday, February 24th 2005, 8:34 AM
i like your coloring style, very cell-like. your lines are very good and its nice how you used varying line width throughout, especially with the details

Thanks so very much Toten! Thankyouthankyouthankyou. If you all want to see the animation you have to find the original one I was working on. Sorry. To answer Darkrose's question on the ring of shadows, tis simple. Watch the animation. Lots of cuts and pastes. I'm terrible with Celtic stuff (even though this isn't Celtic) so I "cheated" by cut and pastes. Still not perfect but hardly noticable unless you paste it to your background and tile it. *cough*

The Chick with the hair to the left side of the screen is Kal short for Kal'daka (drow meaning "wolf" sounded better and prettier than Druag). She is "me" in a story I'm doing with a "friend" or more so was.....*grumble* She has major additude problems, like me.
The other chicka is also me, her name is Ely, short for mine, Elissa...gwah I hate that name...Means "from the blessed Isles." Found that out recently. Anyways, but she has anger issues too. And likes to jump around.

Please feel free to ask questions, I love those more than comments but I love comments too.

yah, ok, wow. this is by far the best I have ever seen you do... this is fantastic. The shadowy fractal thing (which is uber nifty... how did you DO that?) ROCKS. Seriously. The the two girls, their outfits are lovely, the coloring and shading is superb, very believeable. Their expressions are determined and set... the profile is excellent, the lineart is clean, the little details are really nifty (like the braids in the human one's hair). Overall this is really quite, uh, amazing. I am very very impressed. Excellent!

windblade @ Monday, February 14th 2005, 1:56 PM
Wow... even if it's cut-and-paste, the black circle is truly a masterpiece. it's so complex, and there's so many details! It's like a cathedral window.

This really is great~ You did a lovely job on the cutting and pasting.. and really on just the design of border in the first place. It's quiet lovely.
I really l ike the concept of this, how both of them are sort of different aspects of you. That's really nifty.
The clothing is pretty. Nice shading on it. I really like the brown glove. I think I need a pair. Good work on the profiles.~

Tigerhawk @ Sunday, February 20th 2005, 2:30 PM
Windy - There's no cathedral window really. The colors in the background are the colors of their elements. Kal (to your left) is Earth and Ely (to your right) is Air/wind. I never thought of a cathedral window....Maybe I'll make one.

I'm going to school in a black hooded cloak with a plastic bow and arrow set with fake blood on the rubber tips.. and I'm going to shoot anyone that looks lovey-dovey. It shall be excellent. Of course then I'll be locking myself in my dorm room with just me, my video games, and a heart-shaped pepperoni pizza from Boston's. *sniff*. Still, this is really cute, and the chibiness of it with the sword and the magicy goodness makes me giggle. Rock on.

I'll agree with that. It's a VERY nifty concept... would like to know more please! You did a really good job on the hands this time, although it sort of seems to come from nowhere (no arms). Maybe that's part of the concept, like black and white guy is a telepath or something... that could be cool... Anyways, I do really like the concept and I wanna know more about what's going on here. Which I suppose is the point of any good picture well concieved, isn't it? So good job!

The character in the background is not as well developed as the one in the crystal.
However, the one in the crystal has really nice lineart and a start at some good shading. You should redo this one someday and spend more time on it so that you do like it. It's a neat idea and it seems like you kinda gave up on it. =(

Prismatic @ Sunday, February 20th 2005, 1:45 PM
As everyone else has said this is a nifty concept. I like the varying shades of grey in the background and figure, it really does help bring out the person in the ball more.~

Mwee!! Thanks Toten!! =3 *huggles*

This took me like 3 hours to finish and I almost die when I thought it was lost.

Anyway, this is an old character of mine see her here http://www.drowtales.com/kaki/browsegallery.php?pic=32854&gallery=Ikena
I've been wanting to redraw her for a long time, she's all grown up now and such.
Altho she still doesnt have a name, I like Agatha but i dont know if that name suits a drow, what say you? any sugestion?

Well the marking in her forehead is a birthmark, she has the gift of foresight and the marking bleeds everytime she has a premonition or when she uses too much mana =3

Anyway I'd love to know what you think, and hopefully this is a I'm-back pic, I'll try to come here and draw more often! =]

darkrose @ Sunday, February 13th 2005, 9:35 PM
Yay! Yes, come back more often! I always enjoy your artwork. The shading is wonderful, it's so hard to find a skinny girl with MUSCLE, DAMNIT! Heh. So good on you for that. Her neck is overly long, but to me that just looks like stylization, and if that's your thing then run with it. Her expression is distand and kind of blank, which I think goes with your descriptor. Her hands are beautiful, excellent with that. Also the hair, it's graceful and flowing and nifty! So welcome back (I hope) and staystaystaystaystay!

Jennifer @ Sunday, February 13th 2005, 11:57 PM
She's so very pretty, Ikena. She looks like she is about to have a premonition. The way her hair is flowing and the red background seem to show that her premonition will be a powerfully ominous one. I do like the name Agatha for her, even if it doesn't seem like a drow-ish name. You could keep the name, just have it spelled something like A'gtha.
Love your work always.

Tigerhawk @ Monday, February 14th 2005, 4:03 AM

Yay! See, I can do one-shot pics!! This time, I cleaned the lineart and colored all by myself, like a big girl! ^.^

Well, this is my Runescape character, Tilke. This is something that happened to me, and I tought it would be funny to draw it. It is the remake of a doodle I have made in my geography book. Never toight it would be that long to do on the comp... @__@

I am level 43. I have kickass equipment. Full addy and rune helmet and scemetar. But my woodcutting, archery and fishing skills sucks. So I went to Port Sarim, The best fishing place ever. I was surrounded by noobs, who were praising my high level and asking me money. I laughed at them, sitted and started fishing.

...5 minutes after, I had nothing. Now, noobs were laughing at me. That day, I told myself I would never fish in public again until I reach a high level. -_-

Well, this is it. Enjoy!

darkrose @ Sunday, February 13th 2005, 12:29 AM
heh, silly. Very cute chibi style... the colors are a little dark, which makes the lineart seem too thick, or vice versa. I still really like the texture on her pants, and the expression is really cute.

The cat on his shield looks a bit unfinished, though, compared to everything else. I think it's because the lines are so much fainter.

But the effect of the... severed arm? is very impressive. :3

Alucard is cool-looking. His expression is almost like that of pity or remorse for the Venus Weed.

Anywho... this is amazing. Wonderfully proportioned, fantastically designed, the details here are just amazing. I particularlyu like her hair and the crystals set into her staff.

Cai @ Saturday, February 12th 2005, 3:41 AM
I agree about the crystals on her staff. They stand out because of their color, as well as just how solid they are. The solidarity of the earring cuff type of thing helps it stand out, as well. Personally, I like it. :3 You probably should have softened the feathers on her armor, a bit - unless they're metal, of course. In which case, disregard what I just said. XD

Segzhan @ Saturday, February 12th 2005, 10:42 PM

Queen_Godzilla @ Saturday, March 5th 2005, 1:23 AM
Looks like a night elf from WoW. Heh, maybe it is; I didn't check the title.

I like how this is lineless. It works for the picture and you managed to pull it off (a lot of kids make it too fuzzy or weird and it looks awful.)

You have little anatomy problems here or there, but nothing really bad. Her neck is a little too thick at the top and her chest might be a bit high. That's about all I can see.

Nice armor, though. I love the crystalline design. Functional, while looking tres chic.

The staff seems awkwardly placed, but I can't think of WHY. It just gives me that artist's vibe.

Good that you stuck with a lightsource!

Queen_Godzilla @ Tuesday, February 8th 2005, 1:02 AM
And she has a demon name like Akasha Slashvixen (given to her by her mother of course) and so she wants to go by a normal human name like Mildred or Jenny. *Snrk!*

Haha, nice expression. She looks very bored, but also wry. The colors are everywhere in this picture, which is your style and why I like it. Just gives it more of a traditional medium's feel. Heh. And the added piece o' hay. Awesome.

Cai @ Tuesday, February 8th 2005, 2:58 AM
Personally, I like Mildred. She looks like a Mildred.

Anyway! I like the eyes, for some reason. I can never draw eyes with that expression... *cough* It's late, and I'm doing homework, so excuse any vagueness.

Oh, and I have a thing for curling horns. And the ones you drew are very very nice indeed, even being sketchy. :3

darkrose @ Tuesday, February 8th 2005, 10:01 AM
That is... disturbingly cute. her expression is fantastic, and the little red snap barettes are a wonderful touch. Her hair is just the right consistancy, which is awesome, and the horns add just a touch of the not-normal that really sets it all off. The colors are warm and soft with just the right amount of contrast. Great job.

catboi incubus mishi @ Tuesday, February 8th 2005, 2:56 PM

Those Eyes rock; the creepy vibe rolls off them! Lovin' the simplicity of this and the coloring; in other words; great sense of style! Olive green Fits the theme :)

Totenmaske @ Wednesday, February 9th 2005, 5:37 AM
Karasu, I always look forward to your images, as some have said ? your images are always fun to look at. Certainly the colouring is more slap dash in some regards (only in the sense of some loose colour bleed here and there) but that really fits your style and the details always win out in your images to make the comment about ?slap dash? colouring mute. I like the overall look of the colouring though in all your images, it always seems to express a sense of motion or character. The effect overall is more like painting really the more I think about it. But I digress, what I think is really nice is the slight impression of a blur effect which smoothes everything out in a rather unique way that is altogether rather pleasing to the eye.

The main feature of this image that really catches the eye of the viewer, in my opinion, is her wonderful expression ? to me it isn?t one of boredom though, that has been said in a previous comment ? but one of disdain or flippant rebellion to authority. As in she seems to be more adolescent in her expression ? which I particularly love. Especially in the way you brought up her eyes just so, and the little well thistle in her mouth. The horns and frankly the shading overall in the image is very exceptional ? it creates such a strange but pleasing lighting effect all over. The way you did the rather overly pink nose and cheek and chin colouring is interesting. Overall even though this is one of our smaller pieces I think it has all the wonderful details that really mark all your pieces.

The little hair berets (boy I hope I?m saying that properly) are such a nice touch ? also creating this sense that she is a rebellious youth. I really like the way you curve the horns to frame the face ? the only issue I have though is the odd green colouring at the top of the upper left corner, though I believe this is showing that the hair is just ruffled around the base. Overall this is an exceptional piece and I do hope to see more Karasu! Keep up the wonderful work.

Oh~ This is so pretty. Your works always are. So nice and soft and watery. And thier noses are always pink! I love that.
The shading in this is so great. You even have single shadows for the single strands of hair. She's adorable.

I can so see this character wearing farmor overalls and leaning against a fence either around a feild or next to a farm house, tail swishing back and forth, and a Ko'd bull laying on the ground behind her. Don't ask me why that image popped in my head, but it did. ^^;

Your quick crazy art never ceases to amaze me, you nutty Karasu.
I'm still in love with your style and flair for sketching such finalized works. =P

I really like the softnes that this exudes. Love the colors and I think that you used the borders very effectively. I like the way I can only see part of her horn because it seems to emphsize what you were saying about her wanting to be a normal girl. Kudo! I want hair like that!

'Rena has been given a wonderful hat of disguise so that she may have greater freedom to move about in daylight.
She's having fun with it so far. XD

I do hope you recover soon to finish this image up, because I really want to comment a little more than what I see so far - your images are so playful and entertaining KHatch (not to mention very detailed). Get well soon! *will comment more fully once this is completed*

Starisan @ Tuesday, February 15th 2005, 2:14 PM
