Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

Woa, unexpected fanart. You've improved Ikena. Very nice older version of Shan'naal. *save it* Thank you. Could maybe use it in the next magazine.

Prismatic @ Monday, March 7th 2005, 8:46 PM
You did such an amazing job with the line work. I am soo impressed by that. And your shading is fantastic. Really great. I like the shineys. His expression is really good~ Alwyas wondered what he'd look like a little older with eyes exposed.~~

Kari Maxwell @ Tuesday, March 8th 2005, 11:32 PM
Pretty.... Can I rape him? lol I love his outfit and he is such a cutie... damn... -squirm- Anyway... Yummers. lol

Mm.. The blue overgarment gives the impression of silk, and the swordhilts metal.. Skin looks smooth and hair looks soft. Shirt, I'd say a thin layer of cotton.. Great details, gives one the impression of various textures.

bakabaka @ Friday, March 11th 2005, 1:59 PM
Kern's right, you have improved. =3

His hair is absolutely awesome. ^_^ Not jus the color, but the hair itself. It has very nice volume, and sits on his head perfectly. =3

Lovely face frontal shot, as well as the rest of the body. Frontals can be annoying at times, neh? *snickers*

Good to see your art again, Ikena. ^___^

missjtsang @ Monday, March 14th 2005, 3:17 AM
I love your coloring style on his outfit. Very shiny ^^ The shadow's cool too :) Thje shading could be darker to make up for that shadow but it looks pretty alright as it is. His facial anatomy's awesome. Nice nose :D Costume design's awesome.

Neat way of using blue as the lineart! :D

Prismatic @ Monday, March 7th 2005, 8:44 PM
Very nice use of watercolors. The picture has such a flow to it. I like the blue line art, it makes it appear somehow wispy or something. Excellent job on the profiles! And your ears are really good! I don't know many that do them that well. I enjoy their expressions and the intensity about them, even in such a soft piece.~~

bakabaka @ Friday, March 11th 2005, 2:02 PM
I like this one more out of the two you've done. =3 The flow to it's better. ^_^ But that's just my opinion.

I absolutely love the girl's face in this. She looks so happy. I really like how you did her hair too. Looks exactly like that in the movie. ^^ D looks wonderful too, 'specially his hair and that hat of his.

You're so talented with that watercolor tool. *nods* And with your color choices. No color ever looks out of place in your pieces.

Beautiful piece.

Ikena @ Saturday, March 5th 2005, 12:56 PM
ah its nice, Tho i dont quite understand them, specially the ring of blood around a misty moon, yet it doesnt mean the ideas arent neat =3
I specially like the drop and the wave thinguies in the water..
about the first panel, the sitting boy/girl, the only thing i suggest you is that if you make such pretty soft bg, try to make the character the same way, soft and such, cause it seems kinda out of place the way you inked and colored it.. i dunno.. well thats my opnion =p lalala

kyasha @ Sunday, March 6th 2005, 6:23 PM

Whee for using tools and learning how to touch up~ I like the tone thingys in the top right panel, it makes the buildings look as though they are all lit up. It's sorta nifty how the figure in the top left panel looks as though they've been embossed. And pretty job with the watercolors~

nice pic anyway!!!! =3

Karasu @ Friday, March 4th 2005, 5:00 PM
Ah, so. : )

I think that you did a good job here for lighting, and the sunset is beautiful, perhaps a little more color blending though? I like how you have it matching his hair and what not, I think thats what you were trying to do? But. Ifn ot, what a neat coincidence!

Dont really have muich else to say....except.. I thnk a litttttttttttle highlighting on the top of the wave there would do just the perfect fnishing touch for ths piture. : )

Ikena @ Saturday, March 5th 2005, 12:53 PM
Ah is very pretty indeed, I wish I could see his face.. =3 this seing the back of his head makes you imagine what kind of expression he has =3
The sea looks beautiful and the wave is greatly done!
The only suggestion I would make is that, if he is a drow then he has pointy ears no? I think they should be showing poking out of his hair.. =3, anyway other than that I really like this pic, so calm and nice, ah and i just noticed the pretty clouds and the nice effect of the sun! =3

Okay, done. Though it's one away from going to the second page so no one is probaly going to see the finished peice. ^^;

Any way........ Hair o Doom... sheesh. Must remeber not to do face shots that big any more. O.o Also I don't think I like Dathom's redesign to well.

This is hopefully the start of a serioes of pictures of the 'family like relationships' that go on in my stories.

The woman in the back is the Dark Lady. A sinister figure that manipulates things from behind the scenes and yet is doing it for a good reason and genuinly views those she manipulates as her 'children'. She'll go drasticly out of her way to insure some good happens for them dispite the hell she often puts them threw.

The fox boy is that... a young kitsune named Dathon. He is the Dark Lady's prodige (mangled spelling) and loyal servant. He and Seji are the dearest of her 'children'. Dathon is mostly a healer but he can't heal himself. Also he has a 'randombility' factor. Meaning he can teleport instantly to any where within the Three Worlds but he can't control where he ends up to well. Its either random or 'where he is most needed'. The Dark Lady will also lend him her powers from time to time.

Now the only thing Dathon has ever asked in return for his loyalty and service is a brother. And thats where Seji, the blonde little boy, comes in. The Dark Lady had to make sure a Guardian of "earth and blood" was born to guard the third Lesser Dragon God when it was reincarnated so she barrowed (realy stole but she does give it back later) the powers of the Gold Dragon and uses them and a shard from the Sphere of Life to create Seji. She then gave the child to Dathon to raise.

Seji is human since the Dark Lady used a human soul, but should the shard in his right hand ever be removed, he'll slip into a coma and eventuay die. He turns out to be quiet a happy-go-lucky kid with a tendancy to pull pranks. The perfect companion for a kitsune.

These three form a very strange yet very blissful family for the first six years of Seji's life. Then Fate and Destiny intervine and Seji is taken away.

For some of the story about all this check out Destiny http://www.angelfire.com/art/ryuyujin/dn3st1.html and Lost and Found http://www.angelfire.com/art/ryuyujin/dn3st3.html .

aah! its looking great so far!
Well about the kid's hands I like his/hers left hand, but the right one, altho I think its good in size her fingers seem to long or something.. And about the fox boy's arm. well I think maybe it should be showing where it leans on the floor, behind the tail, tho im not sure.. and the tail well.. it looks like its coming from his hip, if you want it to look like its comming from the lower back, then I think there shouldnt be that space between the tail and the knee, i dunno if i explain myself.. =P
anyway, those are my suggestions might or might not be accurate.. =P hehe so suit yourself

Real nice strat so far. Nice pose and anatomy. O bet there is a story behind this one too. Would love to hear it.

Just a sujestion. I realize it's not done yet, but just to tie the image together better, might want to put some of the same heavey lines as you got on the figure on the nearest parts of the background. Not the entire back ground mind... lines getting thinner and fadeing to lineless should help give a sense of distance/depth.

But I am a odd duck, so feel free to pay me no mind. ^_-

mazilwolf @ Thursday, March 3rd 2005, 3:20 PM

bakabaka @ Friday, March 11th 2005, 2:08 PM
I can definately tell you put 110% into this. =3 It shows.

The pose and the way she's holding herself is my favorite part of the entire pic. Just the little details, like her fingers entwined in her toes, along with the slumped wings and posture.

You did a great job with the line-less-ness as well. The colors are fantastic, and the shading is impecible.

<3 the background as well. It has a very good sense of depth, which I love. That's difficult to do. =3

*two thumbs up* Love it.

Queen_Godzilla @ Tuesday, April 12th 2005, 6:30 PM
Brava, girl. Brava. You DID give 110% on this, indeed.

Wonderful anatomy, I can't fault it. Nice painting technique all around: you kept the line art at a uniform smoothness and correctly gauged the level of the shadows and highlights. Also a plus on the textures.

But, a critique. Your light source.

The only visible source is behind her in the tunnel. Therefore, it would stand to logic that the front half of her would be in shadow while her back would be highlighted. As it is currently, I seem to see the light simultaneously coming from the north-west as well as from directly above. Noooo... unless there's a light hole directly above her, you might want to retry the lighting job.

It's hard, but doable.

And that's all I have to say.

Queen_Godzilla @ Tuesday, April 12th 2005, 6:01 PM
I like her dress design. It's very floral, and I like how the floral details aren't defined, just having a very good implication of flowers. Very southern belle, eh?

I see a few things you could improve upon. Here again you have inconsistances in your line art, some of it being smooth and some being sharply defined. I realize how hard it is to blur or not blur an item, but I feel this is something you should work on. Work on your hand anatomy as well :D

However the "pimp" written on the left one's hate shouldn't be pink and so sketchy looking (to suit the rest of the pic). Maybe make it the color of his pipe? :)

Looks like an interesting concept =)
Can't wait to see it done :D

darkrose @ Wednesday, March 2nd 2005, 1:29 PM
Interesting... I like hoe you did the shading on her nose and the tear in her eye. I think the softer color palate is also a nice touch, not quite as dark which could also be symbolic. The monster portion looks like it could blend better with her skin, but this is a work in progress and I'll hold off on actual comments until you say you're ready. <{^.^}>

mazilwolf @ Friday, March 4th 2005, 4:01 PM
it very unusual, mmm... the shading is good, but the background is a bit....
i dont know the word for it, but you should do somthing to it.... yep yep.
is the left eye reptillian? very neat scar too. yep yep and i want to see it done =3 looks great so far!!!

kyasha @ Sunday, March 6th 2005, 6:13 PM
Just as a suggestion, when you draw the nose you don't draw both sides of the nose. Instead you do one line for the bridge of the nose, it doesn't seem to flatten out (a tip from my design drawing teacher :P)

nice solids :D

Prismatic @ Monday, March 7th 2005, 8:38 PM
Hmm.. well it says this isn't done yet, but I decided to comment anyway~ As has been stated before nice job with the solid shading. And oh so sad... I would really like to see this finished so I can comment on it more in depth~~

okey-dokey. about done with this one. she's Cinainon, a shadowyn. Shadowyns are a race i created not long ago, to sort of serve as antagonist in a story i created. They are a peculiar race, almost nothing is known about them except the decorations where ears would be may denote rank. their bodies are not solid, they are slightly vaporous. they appear at dusk and night, hiding in the shadows. their quirky mask-like faces are decoys, their real faces have never been seen except for an exceptionally large mouth filled with shark-like teeth.

i recently drew a hole bunch of these guys for an Illustration class, 6 as circus characters. ended up looking very tim burton-y.

catboi incubus mishi @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 8:28 PM
What a pretty, evil thing! <333

Harlequin @ Monday, February 28th 2005, 2:43 AM
You know, I really like the concept behind this. And of course the execution, well that's just snazzy. The lineart is nice and smooth LOVE that. The hair is shaded ever so nicely, and the tiny spikes really give it a nice sense of the jaggedness to it. Very lovely. The ear bits...they remind me of this really funky pair of earmuffs I saw once. lol The colors used make them stand out just enough, but not too much. The whole 'alternate face' idea, well not only do I like that, but I've used it in the past myself. Come to think of it I just found one of those old sketches last week while cleaning my room. lol In any event I really like that blue eyeshadow, and the style of the eyes is very nice. Choosing to not draw the bottom of the eyes in, and just imply them was definately the way to go. The smile...well, that just makes me smile in an oh so very evil way. Wonderful expression to the mask face. The body being solid black is a bit of a bold move graphically, but with the yellow/orange background I think you've really managed to pull it off here. The arm to the left side of the canvas appears a little shaky, especially on the side closest to the body. The arm on the right side of the canvas though, that is just well done. The proportion looks accurate, and that hand. That is a DAMN NICE hand. The slightly differing thickness to the lines really accentuates that fist, and the lines where the knuckles would be really add a nice sense of detail. Very well done piece, I really like it, especially the little backstory. Draw more of this little 'species' sometime, I'd love to see what more of them look like.

kyokurrychan @ Monday, February 28th 2005, 1:16 PM
ooh, she looks cool. and relatively evil. ^_^ how enjoyable.

Prismatic @ Tuesday, March 1st 2005, 9:08 PM
Neato conceptness. Hehe.. I love Tim Burton. That must have been a groovy art project.
I like the swirly mass of color in the background of this. And of course the subject is great. Very nice lineart, love the mask like expression. And the hint of eyes on their shirt? That's pretty groovy. Nifty ear decorations as well.
I'm really liking their hand and eyes, those are my favorite parts I believe. And the subtle shading in the hair.~~

darkrose @ Wednesday, March 2nd 2005, 1:31 PM
Nifty. Her face reminds me of the Joker... which I'm sure isn't the intention, but it rocks anyway. That grin, those eyes, the shading is simply wonderful, and the anatomy is sound. This is very stylistic and overall very nifty, with great texture and I rather like the minimalistic shading.

mazilwolf @ Wednesday, March 2nd 2005, 3:14 PM
looks uber evil!!! *shudders* wouldn't like to meet her on a dark night!!! =\ teh hair tones are really good and look like you can see all teh strands of hair. teh hand is awesome!! (i'm lame at drawing hands lol) but yeah, teh mask two face idea is really good.

Wonderful! I love the way light orange and black look good together! Love his smile :)

Mouse @ Wednesday, March 9th 2005, 8:19 PM
This's an interesting one. I take it the hair's part of the mask as well? Gives one a whole new look at facemasks! The ear ornaments are a neat idea, can't think of anything else offhand that denotes rank in such a way.

Queen_Godzilla @ Tuesday, April 12th 2005, 5:26 PM
I like the contrast present in this piece. You put a bunch of neutral colors against a warm-colored busy background. It really sets each part in front with an equal presentation.

Nice facial and body proportions, looks like everything's even (except the huge mouth, but that's how they are so I'm not counting off points or anything *LOLz*.) The solid black was a good design decision in my opinion. Very modern art-y. It also conveys their shadow side. The expression is nice as well.

I don't see anything I can really critique, so YAY! :D

you might want to push the nose out further, it seems to cave in too much. also, the angle of the shoulder towards us should bring the back shoulder into view. the hair looks great so far, can't wait to see it finished!

Harlequin @ Monday, February 28th 2005, 2:45 AM
Ooh, watercolor sans strong lineart is very hard to do. Very hard indeed. I agree with Amary about pushing the nose out a bit farther, her face is far too concave. Other than that, this is looking promising. Now get back to work! lol

kyokurrychan @ Monday, February 28th 2005, 1:17 PM
i like this idea a lot. I agree about the nose though, the bridge is a bit to indented. ^_^ but i really love how you did the hair!

darkrose @ Wednesday, March 2nd 2005, 1:33 PM
...and I love how you draw merpeople. Again with the nifty softness... you're getting better all the time! Such lovely textures and colors here, and her hand looks really good. I think her profile is a little off, just where the lips meet the chin there should be a little bit of a dip so the lips are sitting mostly off the face, hard to explain but if you find a picture you'll see what I'm talking about. Still, overall, this is fantastic work.

Prismatic @ Wednesday, March 2nd 2005, 2:21 PM
Thanks for all the super helpful critics! You guys really do help me get better!~~~~

mazilwolf @ Wednesday, March 2nd 2005, 3:06 PM
wow, she's pretty! i love the soft colours of the bcackgorund and teh way they all merge together.... (i'm a sucker for backgrounds...)
teh hand holding the shell is really good, i find it hard to draw hands.
only one probolem i have, (although i am not in the position to say this as most of my characters turn out deformed)
her face is a little strangly shaped... her lips kind of stech into her chin too much and the forhead looks a little wide. apart from that its really really good!! =3

Neko Girl Star @ Wednesday, March 2nd 2005, 8:08 PM
this is so pretty...the hand on her chest is a little small...but it still looks beautiful...I love her skin and the little pink/yellow things...the shells look cool too

kyasha @ Sunday, March 6th 2005, 6:11 PM
Crazy person doing hands!!! You brave soul you....>_<

Love the colors!! :D BLUE AND GREEN! WOO!

Queen_Godzilla @ Sunday, April 3rd 2005, 9:49 PM

I like the color scheme on this: the teal, the green, the pinks, the yellows. Its all very soft. I'm glad it's not glaring and 'in your face', so to speak.

There are a few anatomy problems (look at her shoulder for instance, and also the length of her arm.) The line art also suffers from teh fuzzy syndrome, where you tried to blend so much that she really has an indistinct outline.

Other than that, wowza. XD I mean, I really do enjoy the colors and design.

Harlequin @ Monday, February 28th 2005, 2:52 AM
Not bad for a first oekaki using a tablet. A few little lineart things keep jumping out at me, but I'll attribute the varying thickness to tablet crankiness. I really like the color scheme, the teal background with her bright orange head tie thingy, as well as those orange eyes and that super red shirt. Very nice. The shading for the most part seems a bit segmented, but it looks more like soft cel-style shading than anything really. The hair turned out very nice, and using blue to shade light hair always looks nice. Very interesting piece, now I wonder what that first one looked like. lol

Yay you're finsihed! The kitty is cuuuute! ^_^ The little horn is a nice touch. Cat's make such cute "snowmen" lol. The snow looks all nice and fluffy, and the cat's stripes are very well done. I think the BG could use a little more detail to match with the cat, but that's okay. Nice.

darkrose @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 5:55 PM
Your cat made a snowman...? Thats cute... And I like how fuzzy you made it look. You also made it look so proud, very pleased with itself and eager for you to be pleased with it too. Are those trees in the background, or columns? They're spaced just right to look like columns. Or maybe I've got the perspective off and they're the back of the porch? I'm not sure what could be done to clarify those things, maybe more detail (bark on trees, fluting on columns, grain on wood porch). That'll also set a perspective on the size of the unikitty. Still, I really like this piece, is unbearably cute <{^ ^}>

Amary-chan @ Friday, February 25th 2005, 9:05 AM
the body [shoulders] seem abit out of proportion with the head, and the forehead is abit too small - my best advice on faces comes directly from my portrait drawing teacher - the eyes are in the middle of the head, from the top of the skull [at highest point] to the bottom of the chin. your lines are very crisp and clean, and your skin tone is well done!

KHatch @ Friday, February 25th 2005, 1:08 PM
I do have a habit of making the bottom half of the face too long, but I think this piece's problems stem from my lack of tablety goodness...God, I hate this retarded picture XD

cute style and colors, nice shading

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, February 26th 2005, 3:25 PM
Mel mel, why did you change your name? You're VERY important! I love all the colors, this image is so happy and springy. <333 The sun is adorable.

Prismatic @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 12:52 AM
Wow! This is so cute! And colorful. I love the color, must keep more color coming.
I love the chibi sun and the figure. I want her hat and clothes!
The eyes are super pretty and shiney! I love the light fading of color in them. Oh! and the trails of pixel rainbows following about the butterflies.~~

darkrose @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 5:49 PM
Yay color! And yay cuteness! And yay... OH GOD WHAT'S THAT THING IN THE SUN!?!?! (heh, sorry, my friends are always making references to the terrifying baby in the sun that used to be on Telletubbies). I love the eye, with the little bit of shine there, and the shading on the whole piece is simple, but cute. I could see this as an easter card for a little kid, it's that nifty. Great work!

Ikena @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 6:11 PM
Ah how cute!
Yes lots of colors!! I love the haircolor and the little rainbows =3

mazilwolf @ Thursday, March 3rd 2005, 3:39 PM

M'kay, not that it's done, I'll comment!
Again, this is very cute, I'll just say that. I really like how you did the shading, especially on the gloves. Yeah, chibi hands are a little hard to draw, but you did good. I also realy like his hair, and how it sticks out a little on one side. Great job! -thumbs up-

Little Elf @ Wednesday, February 23rd 2005, 9:19 PM
Draco! yay! You made him chibi and cute!! I think you did well with the chibi hands. I'd use circles next time. *shrugs* Lots of little details! I like the ones on the sign. It looks like wood...or paper...Heh, the BG is nice. I'm at a lose of words to describe it, but it's cool! Yush. Good job. ^_^

Verna_Venisa @ Saturday, February 26th 2005, 12:59 PM
aw this is so kawaii ^o^! And i like the bg, it's fuzzy :D

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, February 26th 2005, 3:26 PM
Aww, chibi Draco! He looks like a little bum, with that cardboard sign of his. This is so sweet, one of my favorites by you, Kari! :D

Prismatic @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 12:50 AM
I have to agree with everyone else in saying this is too cute. I think I like him better this way.. all chibified.
I have to agree that chibi hands are difficult to do, but the shading you gave to his gloves really does give his fingers definition.
His eyes are super pretty and I like the feathery background about him.

darkrose @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 5:47 PM
aww, cute! At first I thought it was Cloud from FF7, but now I can see the draco bit. I especially love the texture on the sign, and how you got the words on it to look like they were actually drawn on the sign and not part of the overall picture. Hard to explain, but I think you get the idea... anyways, I love it.

Ikena @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 6:10 PM
Heh, he is cute, tho he doesnt look so chibbi to me, he looks more like he got shrunk! =3 hehe dun mind me, very cute pic!

o.o cant wait to see this colored, looks totaly awesome. ^^ you have a gift for lineart :D

windblade @ Tuesday, February 22nd 2005, 10:35 PM
sorry to say this, but there are a few anatomical mistakes and it'd be better to correct them before you start coloring, mmh? =p The legs are much too long for the body, and the pose (at hip-level) seems extremely uncomfortable... From the torso up, though, it's a very good start! Will comment more when you're done.

Tigerhawk @ Wednesday, February 23rd 2005, 12:55 AM
i think it's her head that makes everything unporportionate, to small... her right arm is to short, and the legs are to spread out. Stilt legs ^^ *cough* I love you Segz ^^ ...no not that way...
maybe I could comment it more on MSNMess if you have time

Amary-chan @ Thursday, February 24th 2005, 8:37 AM
so far it looks good, although the legs are wonky. she looks like she's falling backwards. if you straighten out her right leg she would take more of a stance. keep going, i'm sure it's going to be great when its done

Segzhan @ Thursday, February 24th 2005, 4:56 PM
Since I'm here to improve, I've read your comment and made a revised version of the lineart. I'll finish it as soon as I can.

Amary-chan @ Thursday, February 24th 2005, 5:52 PM
i hope i didn't hurt your feelings, i want you to grow as an artist too. the legs and stance are excellent now, her attitude really shows.

?....??....???..... *giggle* Someone's been playing Morrowind XD. I love the mog mod.. and this is a fantastic beginning. The lineart is really well done, and the anatomy of the mog is fantastic. I can even recognize most of the armor from the game... *sigh* It was a terrible addiction but I sought help and am over it now. Heh, now I play WORLD OF WARCRAFT!!! nice shading and linework, i like the eye coloring

Prismatic @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 12:48 AM
Is this your first drawing here?
Hmm.. this is really nice. I'mr eally liking it. Your line work is nice and solid and seems clean. And the expression on the main subject is great~ You did a really nice job with their fingers. And I'm really loving the eye in particular. The lines you added to the hair give it a nice definition and I really like the shading in purple.

darkrose @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 5:43 PM
Cute! I wish I could read Japanese... alas. This is simplistic and colorful and I love it. The happy little expression, the summery clothes, it's all good, it truly is. It makes me miss warm sunny days that are NOT -20 degrees... *sigh*

His expression is good, and I like your shading. Especially teh green parts of his outfit, and the folds in his tunic. Oh yeah~ his ears are really good.

Tigerhawk @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 7:18 PM
The lion looks awesome! The paws on both creatures came out wonderful. The hair on the dragon's forelegs is very well done. I can see each stand. The mane on him though lookis very weird. He reminds me of a red bull lol the lion on the other hand looks like he's missing his ears. Oh well. And are those wings?

krypto @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 8:52 PM
heh, yeah, everything you said was correct. he does look odd adnthose are wings. :D

Little Elf @ Tuesday, February 22nd 2005, 7:32 AM
That's really neat. The moon, and the stars look really good! The dragn(?) thingy looks really good, as does the lion. The wings are nice, and the tops of the mountains... that shine on them makes them look....*is at a lose of words*....REALLY NEATO! XDDDDD

krypto @ Tuesday, February 22nd 2005, 9:31 PM
lol, is he that badly drawn??? hmmm.. might hafta make another dragon... yeah the bg is kinda kewl.... took me like two minutesXD

Amary-chan @ Thursday, February 24th 2005, 8:39 AM
color on black is tough to pull. you have a good sense of muscles, especially on the dragon. try using color compliments in the shadows, using the opposite color on the color wheel make shadows seem more rounded and have more depth.

I think you should keep the dragon; Be a non-conformist in that area XD
I haven't seen a dragon like that before; you should draw this one another time :)

darkrose @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 5:39 PM
wow, this really rocks. Especially the expressions, and the whole dragon. I've never seen a dragon that looks like that, which is awesome because it's so original. The lion's face is so well done, it's amazing, and the grin on the dragon is menacing and, well, kinda cute. In an evil way. *ahem* The fir effects are really good, and the background gives it an almost surreal quality, with the black leading up to the night sky and it's van gho-esk moon. (sorry about the butchered spelling people <{^.^}>)

Ikena @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 6:05 PM
wah! they look so cooL! and kinda soft and incorporeal! I love the dragon's expression and the color of the red demon thinguie.
The bg is really cool i love the stars and the moon! =3

the fur the fur!!! so realistic and furry-looking!!! the claws and paws.... the stance... is all good.
the best bit though (in my opion) is teh lions snarl!!! its so cool!!!!!! its lip is curling and all that!!! looks really angry!!!
the moon gives it a eriee effect too. i really love this, its so good...

Okay, now you must be wondering. What with that Laurier street thing?

Well, it's an art project.Would take a while to explain.

Anyway, this is a one shot. Since I have problems with lineart, I drew lineless.

Well, enjoy and comments!

catboi incubus mishi @ Sunday, February 20th 2005, 10:26 PM
Sorry to tell you, but you're breaking rule #8 - you're only allowed you draw one oekaki a day.

Kern @ Sunday, February 20th 2005, 10:39 PM
I have no memory of being informed about this rule change. So i'll need to talk about it with Toten. So please guys, if someone do 2 pictures in a day, don't spank them. spank them if they don,t comments enough compared to their images count though XD.

krypto @ Sunday, February 20th 2005, 11:56 PM
she's naked! !lol.
I love the hair: it has a very interesting concept (the shades i mean). the wings also have a rather appealing color and position. i actually like this pic. looking forward to see more of your stuff! :D

Harlequin @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 12:49 AM
You know, I like the soft feathery look to those wings, but the body by contrast seems too blurry. Actually everything seems to be too blurry. There's really no depth of field here. The background and the figure are apparently on the same plain...thus background isn't really BACKground. And...her butt...well that's a mighty flat butt. lol Her legs are too straight, thighs tend to have a little bit of a curve to them. I like the idea of this, and the view, since I really love those wings, just some anatomical and technical things that I have problems with really. Other than that GREAT colors. Love that red hair with the muted blues in those wings.

Kern...we get to spank people? When did that happen? No matter! AT LAST MY HOUR HAS COME!!!!!

Segzhan @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 8:40 AM
Well, one of the requiertment of the assignement was that everything had to be blurry like a dream. ;p But thanks for the comments, guys. ^__^

Tigerhawk @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 3:04 PM
I like it blurry. Well if it represents something in a dream what does the picture represent? If it was a dream. The hair came out great. Though it should be a tad bit blurry and the wings more fluffy ^^ . Good job.

Catboi- your enforcing the rules has gone a tad to far. It's NOT for YOU to decide whether it's spamming or not, it's the moderators. The "2 pictures in one day" is on;y considered spamming depending on the content in the picture and/or on how long it took. AND it's also stated it's for the moderators to decide. I comment quite a bit and I still don't get the somments I would like from people. And when I do, they're empty. They're just said. No meaing behind it. Why? because this rule where you can ONLY draw if you have the 5 c=1 p. Sounds good, and SEEMS to work but when I recieve comments I feel they're only commenting so they can draw. I HAVE to comment if i would like to draw on here. I have no other choice. Yes I domment empty comments because I occasionally there are times even I cannot find things to comment on. Sorry guys. Instead of trying to be Mr./Mrs. Nice guy let the mods do there job. What the heck are they here for if you keep doing it for them. I understand you're only trying to help but somethings in order to help we've got to restain ourselves. Trust me I know.

Segzhan @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 4:37 PM
To Tigerhawk;

Yes, it is kinda supposed to be a dream. More the representation of a tought.

The assignement was to choose a story-song, and then we had to try to think like the character. I just represented the fact that the character wanted to fly away that she felt powerless in what was happening to her (this is why she's naked. Vulnerability.) And then, she got her innocence destroyed beause of the darkness of her life.

I translated you the song, so you know the story. ;p

Tigerhawk @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 4:42 PM
Alrighty. Hmmm. I invision her having broken wings, wanting to fly but can't because the pain incapability to. I also invision boney-like claws trying to take her into darkness.

Segzhan @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 4:46 PM
I was planning to do something like that for the third part. :P

windblade @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 8:35 PM
TigerHawk, please, if you want to fight someone, do it by e-mail?
On the drawing: I like the way you blurred the colors on the wings, it gives them a much softer look, like real fluffy feathers instead of drawings of feathers. This works well for the hair too, and maybe for the grass, but the rest of the drawing would benefit from a less blurry look...
Lil tip! You don't have to, but I feel your pictures would have a greater impact if you used less... bright colors. Make them a bit more dramatic by making them less pure, if you see what I mean

Tigerhawk @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 9:06 PM
Who said I was fighting. I was simpling commenting on a problem that I felt was getting out of hand.

Little Elf @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 9:26 PM
The wings, there are feathery. Yeah, I'm just repeating, but they are! The details on her hair and wings are very pretty. Yush.

darkrose @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 5:37 PM
I really like the lineless one. Her wings look beautifully soft and feathery, and her hair looks just perfect if not a little ragged at the bottom (although most people's hair isn't in pristine condition, so it makes it more realistic). The metal pole is really very well done, and I like the overall feel of the picture. Good job :)

Ikena @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 6:01 PM
I really like the angle and the wings! so pretty and fluffy!
