Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

Hoorah for being new here. I'm hoping that I saved the image the right way. She's my charicature of sorts, name of Kayen, and she is *completely* out of character herself. Normally, she'd be holding a staff/scythe combo and be in tribal wear. Not snowboarding gear. That's *my* forte.

Adult 'cause I'm not done.

Any ideas for clothes and background are entirely welcome, 'cause I suck at both.

Tigerhawk @ Wednesday, January 19th 2005, 5:40 AM
For clothing I'd give her one of those fur collared jackets and thick pants (how vage can I get?). Background I'd go for a snowy mountain on fire.....and people running all over the place.....I really don't know... I do...I....have issues on saying I don't....ya. Hope that helps a bit ^^;;;

Argpoodle is rehabilitating, and it seems that 'Rena hs better things to do than babysitting an injured gnome.
Ah, but does Argpoodle feel more for the drow than he lets on?
Find out next week on Guiding Light!
No not really. But this IS what apears to be happening in the game...she's becoming mroe independent, and he's becoming more...sad...
Who knows.

This is a very interesting image. The snake suggest something sinister has happened, the clean lines and colors work well. I just gotta say I like the simplicity of this.

darkrose @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 6:27 AM
"Search goods built eighteen to nineteen-thirties to the schalchten of the butcher"? Can't find that "schalchten" word anywhere, but I can't understand German worth a lick. I can speak it (as in pronounciations) because of a singer's training (by the by, Richard Strauss writes REALLY ANNOYING WORKS) and I happened to have my German dictionary open in front of me while I was perusing the site. So, interesting caption, what's it mean? Obviously the image is dark, with the red eye and snake (which looks totally cool, btw) and the overabundance of, well, black. Still, am interested in knowing what the saying means...

Kaede @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 11:10 PM
"Looking for a well-built eighteen to thirty-year-old to be slaughtered. The Master Butcher. "
Its from the song Mein Teil by Rammstein. I was listening to it while drawing this and it reminded me of shinzen, that line anyway. =0

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, January 15th 2005, 4:13 PM
Neat image, but I have to say - the chain really takes away from the image, I wish you had taken more time on it, it would have brought a lot to the image. ANYWAY. Because of the kimono sleeves, the snake seems to be more of an obi than an actual snake. You probably could have used some shine on it to make it more three-dimensional. Also, I wish you had put a little color in the elf's/man's/whateverheis's face and hand, or in the white of the kimono itself, to distinguish between the two. With the way the face is tilted, I think the eye might need to be a little teeny bit lower. But anyway, nice idea for an image, I always like your work. ^^

Kage Kitsune @ Monday, January 17th 2005, 2:00 PM
kreepy german and ebil snaky thing O_O;; I like his clothes and the snake kind of looks like a belt to hold up his hakama(sp?). The chain bugs me because it doesn't really look like a chain much, just some kind of metallic winedy thingy O_o; other than that tis pretty cool!

Four good reasons why Argpoodle should not be allowed to lead, be in charge, or decide ANYTHING. All four events happened in my game and the bottom two panels both occured last night, about half an hour apart. He died in each of these situations, and the first, third, and fourth times, I was able to heal him with my clericy goodness, but the second time, he was DEAD dead, and I used divine intervention to bring him back. Woohoo for necromancy!
Yay for idiot gnomes!
EDIT: The notes pinned to 'Poodley's chest say, in order, \"You can't see me\" and \"I'm not the gnome you're looking for.\"
He was being invisible. Or something. Yeah.

*Snerk.* Oh, man, this reminds me of when my friends and I role-play tabletop. This seems quite...similiar, in some ways. Brilliant art as usual, so very comicy and hilarious. Argpoodle is the coolest gnome EVER. Your Drow looks so cute in the first panel, too, her big eyes and expression just transmits surprise perfectly.

darkrose @ Sunday, January 9th 2005, 7:57 PM
That is the coolest thing EVER! Heh, my figther character was nominated to be party leader because he was the only one that no one despised. He's fifteen and still has to learn the ropes of being a good leader. Although in his eagerness to learn the diplomacy and tact to be a truly great leader he somehow ended up with a natural 24 CHA... woops. Ah, well, mobbage here we come. Anyway, he did some of these things. The whole 'ok, here's my rational---ERKG" thing, and the flame doors too. After the first couple tries we found an ingenious method of unlocking the door, then tying a rope to the handle in such a way that it would open when pulled a certain way, then we pulled really fast and ducked down around the corner, allowing us to escape the flaming death. Whee! Your gaming group looks like so much fun...

Kage Kitsune @ Sunday, January 9th 2005, 9:55 PM
oh gods...::smacks head against table she's laughing so hard:: your group sounds so much like my old one XD!!! I love how Argpoodle really looks like your boyfriend (basing this off your avi). I really love the expression, especially the two top ones. They are just so fun and make me full of giggliness. My favorite is the second however,just.. omg 'Halt? HALT?! You can't ask US to halt. ' hahaha xD Whew. It reminds me of someone Im not sure who though. -Ponders-

Lady_Sea @ Monday, January 10th 2005, 11:10 PM

Nice shading on his thigh there, I'd think that gloss effect would be other places too, like his shoulder and cheeks... other than that, great use of shading and the action pannels really tell a story. The position of the characters is a litle... awkward... for my tastes. But then again, I've never been a big fan of yaoi. Still nicely done, though!

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 9:09 AM
Hmm vampires ^-^; The one thing that keeps distracting me is the random tan bits that I know are parts belonging to the blond one, but I cant figure out what parts they are, or what position would ever allow him to bend in that way. Also, the shading on the - sheets, I'm assuming - is different from that of what's on the flesh, and sometimes it's good to stay consistant with a style in a piece unless there's an effect you're trying to pull off. Also, the background is a little blank. If they're in a bedroom, there would be something around them, a nightstand or pictures or something of the sort.
Anyhow, I really like the shading and highlights on the hair, and I like the way you draw eyes. Also, the vampire's teeth look pretty cool in that small panel on the left ^^

Rigga Mortis @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:22 PM
Ah, vampires...nice facial-shapes. The mouth of the red-haired one, and his eyebrow, look a little strange, but nothing too bad. I like how the blonde one is just peeking out from behind. X3 The blankets have some good folding and shading, and the highlihts on their skin is perfect.

ChronosKit @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 11:13 PM
Shm-exeh! *steals the hair* I love it...its so long and red.... And the eyes are beautiful!

well i finnily came to comment.

o,O uh....thats quite a large hand covering the uh...."objectional" area. Though i am a little confused with the blanket and the arm. I dont know quite how he is positioned to get his hand at that angle. The nude's body is drawn nicely and i lobe the coloring of the hair and eyes.

The face is so great to look at. Love how you drew the eyes and the expression is so nice. I think the drawing looks cool. Definitely like the hair. XD And that loose strand.

darkrose @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 10:37 PM
Ooh, I like a lot. Lovely detail with the strands of hair and the stitches on her kimono. I also like what you've done in the background with the stars, all the little glowy bits around the star look really nice. The things in the background are a little distracting, so much is done so cleanly and so beautifully that the watercolor creatures don't seem to fit. That's really the only thing I can think of that could improve this picture, except maybe some more work on fabric folds, but that's really quite good anyway.

AoD @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 3:42 AM
I've never been much of a Kikyou fan but something out this picture makes me like her a little. The way you drew her gave her a sense of sensitivity.. Not that usuall look that makes me want to slap her.. I love you for drawing the soul steaking demons too! ^.^ love this.

Sumi @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 5:10 AM
It's okay Kaede. Styles take time to get. I still don't have mine after 4 years, and I don't expect one to come to me soon. XD
I like the composition of your picture and how you captured the almost-sad-almost-mad ish look she almost always has. The soul stealers were also a nice touch. (I always forget about them for some reason. O.o;)

Lady_Sea @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 9:05 PM
It can be quite a depressing journey when searching for your style, but do not worry. You'll find it soon. Think of style as your own normal way of drawing and expressing yourself. It's just a matter of making it grow to really truly appreciate it. I think your journey is being reflected in this picture of Kikyo. She has this sense of distress or searching look in her eyes. Like she really doesn't know where to begin. As for commenting, I really like the clothing and hair. It's very neat and the shading as well too. The background doesn't distract from the character too much, but I'm sure if you put a little more work into, it would be top notch. Keep searching, you'll find your style eventually. ^_^

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 6:47 AM

ooh, too cool. I really love the concept of this picture, and the black dress/white hair is strikingly beautiful, as well as the white dress/black hair. Also the use of differing skin tones was a nice touch. The poses are lovely and the expressions (calm, serene) are good too.

Kamourian King @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:51 AM

Kaiera @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 10:24 PM
"Opposite" pics always interested me quite a bit :) I like how even their skin tones are contrasted....really gives that opposite feel. The bg seems a bit rushed though o.o Maybe using different colors for each side, such as light blue for the "light" and purple for the "dark, would make it a little less bland. Personally, I like color in the bg :D Aside from that though, I like this image alot ^_^

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 8:07 PM
This is nice. I like the dress design, and the colour scheme. I tried this idea once, but did not pull it off as well as you. The grey background is like a blending of the stark opposites. It brings the piece together well. Nice job!

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 4:39 AM
Wow. i enjoy looking at opposites. so all is well. I the black dress woman has a sephy hairstyle. the shading and highlighting are added with a light touch. The dresses are very creative. One sleve skin tight and has fasionable holes and the other is like most of the stuf i wear. Long open and bell shaped. The skin colors of the woman are unique in the way that i dont see many opp pics go as far as opp skin color. A very nice touch. my onely prob is the BG. I dont like the face that the women have "auras". Though for this pic perhaps it was ment to be that way?

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 6:56 PM
I love the simple, elegant gowns. Everything about these two is elegant! I love the skin tone of the elf on the right contrasting with her beautiful black hair.

An amazing piece! ^_^

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 7:04 PM
That was so neat to see how you did this! A few questions for you though:

1) How do you colour like that? You used solids over the lines, and then erased... at least that's how it appeared in the annimation. How did you know where to erase? Really neat way of colouring, by the way.

2) How did you blur things? I've never seen anything like a blur tool with the oekaki program I've been using (the middle one).

Again, a very lovely picture!

YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starisan drawing! You seem to have kept your drawing style dispite using a mouse. The 'sketchyness' (cant remember what our prof. called it) in the pants shows off all the creases. My favorite part is the hair in this one. I love the different tones and lines used. ok i lied. i love the eye too. Their tied as favorites. The eye is just awsome. You did a fantastic job detailing it dispite its small size.

catboi incubus mishi @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 4:33 AM
Now, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this isn't fantasy - I noticed in your comment that you're not finished, I certainly hope you add in a fantasy element. The sloppiness of her back and leg area bother me, though, perhaps you can go back and clean them up. I do love her hair and the detail you put into the way it's up in the barrette. (:

Totenmaske @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 6:31 AM
Well I personally like the style I have been seeing in the images you have tried to post (even though I gave you a warning ? I personally see a lot of talent in your work) certainly at the moment there is no fantasy ? but I believe you will work that into the image. To be truthful, and this is going to sound rather odd, but this character reminds me of ?The Woman Wrapped in the Sun? in a few of the images by William Blake. Rather odd to suggest that, especially since the image is not completed yet ? but it has style and well I think oddly? ;3

But anyway I personally like what I see, even though there is a sense of ?sloppiness,? in the colouring and well maybe in the slope of the back (though I don?t think it really is that bad, personally I was expecting you to bring out some wings from the back). Now on the subject of using a mouse, it is hard to get used to at first, there are though quite a few artists on the board and other places that use the mouse exclusively. So don?t think it as a crutch, you just have to work at it and over time you will improve. I like the quick pose dolls you make btw that I see in animation.

There are some issues that you may want to do though ? like clean up some of the rough loose line art and colouring. But so far I like the odd style that this is presenting so far. Keep working on this image! I will comment further once this is completed.

oni shi @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 6:05 PM
i like the wings, its hard to use a mouse it takes more time but if u are carefull with the line art then its much easyer to do, i know i used a mouse for a ver long time and finally got a tabby a year or two ago

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 7:10 PM
I like this, especially her cheek. I can feel the emotion coming from this, but for some reason it's not exactly EMINATING from it.

This is a bittersweet picture... Very nice.

Starisan @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 1:33 PM
UUmmm, thanks for all the comments. No I've never had a tablet, I meant in general because this is my first expirience drawing with the mouse, although I got some practice because my first attempts to post here were accidentially deleted (my computer wouldn't save them...and then i accidentally spammed so I deleted those).

Starisan @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 4:39 PM

What is on the end of his hat, you ask? It is a COWPIG!! A mysterious cross between a cow and a pig. Yeah so it looks like a cow, mianly, but who cares.
There ya go, Darkrose XD

Totenmaske @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 7:09 AM
I really love the wonderful colouring in these images KHatch, and frankly the characters are superb. The fact that you had to explain Argpoodle and his hat just seems over the top ? but funny nonetheless. I personally love the cowpig? but that?s mostly because it looks too cute in that over the top tacky way.

The colouring in this image is just amazing, I love what you do with the background in particularly for each cell, and it is simplistic in presentation but so pleasing to look at. Especially in the frame with the hat, the way the hat seems to be radiating. The hat is very nicely textured through the wonderful colouring job not to mention the sense of lighting and definition of Argpoodle himself. The only issue I have, in the colouring department is the odd little circle of yellow, I don?t know if that is a mistake or simply something you wanted to explain in another image ;3 {Edit} Ahh you corrected it, nm then this image is simply a joy to look at now! I like the fact that Argpoodle himself is a little odd in the sense that he has a green and blue eye. Frankly the colouring is fantastic, that?s the best description I could apply to the image overall. It?s thick and playful, and that really carries the image.

The cowpig, well that just seems to be the whole focus of the image in the end, and something that reminds me of Gir?s little buddy Pig in Invader Zim? The things I apply to images astound me? so if there is no real link, just chalk it up to me being just plain freaky. Those eyes, and the little bells? for some reason, when I first saw Argpoodle?s hat I wanted to ask if those were utters or something? I think it?s a little more disturbing that they are bells?

Btw the way you wrote the text in this image, is fantastic, I like the way you have lightened the area behind the writing to help the viewer of the image see what you wrote. Even though I think your writing is very legible, that little addition is welcoming. Just a fantastic image KHatch and I do hope to see more of him, like your Merry Christmas image, this is just adorable.

Inspired by something that happened to me recently... I'm over it, but it painted a very vivid image in my mind that I just had to draw. I've finally gotten around to it...

Please critique what I've done so far, as I want this picture to be the best it can. I will finish it later, and when I do I will explain it in much more detail.

It still pangs in my heart... So I want what I see in my mind's eye to come out on paper.

darkrose @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 9:11 PM
ok, first thing that comes to mind is that the arm reaching outward is a little too long. Also, when reaching, fingers tend to stretch out, not up. Try looking in the mirror and mimicing the expression, it's easier when you have a point of reference. The boot looks pretty good, but it's bent at an odd angle. Again, try playing with your own foot and seeing how it works. Hands are the supposed nemesis of the artist, although personally hands are second in difficulty to FEET. They're hideously hard to draw. Ooh, also maybe a reference pic for bird's wings, or find a wing style you like. The pair shown here look maybe a little too short...

Sorry, hope that's not too much to think about. It's a great start, good luck!

Queen_Godzilla @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 6:38 AM
You want critique? You got it!

Well, as Darkrose(?) previously mentioned you might want to reference your wings to be more realistic. Here's a reference:

And the crying elf's shoulder needs to be up higher, practically right under her neck. Here's a picture to show sort of what I mean:
http://www.fotosearch.com/comp/sby/sby184/33110LCE.jpg (Look at the lady in the stripey dress)

Also, yeah, shorten the arm there. And, if possible, widen the calf area just beneath the knee. Like so:
As you can see, the calf is widest near the knee, then narrows by the ankle.

The boot might be a little tiddy bit too small for the guy walking away too.

And, uh, the crying elf's face needs to be slightly bigger, I believe. Maybe it would be more pleading if she had her eyes open.

That's all I got.

darkrose @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 12:53 AM
ooh, nice reference pics Queen! The wings one doesn't work... is there a different link for that one?

Here's a REALLY AWESOME site I just found for wings... I think everyone could benefit from this. It's from right here in Alaska, at the Puget Sound University. There are wings from just about every bird you could think of with all the different color variations and patterns you could think of, textures, and all the pretty feathers. Enjoy!

ChronosKit @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 11:08 PM
Bah, Im done now. I cant draw trees, but I attemtped to! MWUAHAHAHA!!..My try at cel shading, Ive gotten better than when I first started using oekaki boards...the white and gray balls of random watercolor painting are supposed to be snowflakes XP

oni shi @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 12:44 AM
ahh u improve so fast im impressed!i like the cell style shadeing and the line art is clean awsome job!

ChronosKit @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 1:15 AM
Thanks ^.^'' I take everything Ive been critiqued on and I use it, that and Ive been practicing with my tablet lol.

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 4:58 PM
Your tree looks okay. I wouldn't worry about it. Her eyes and tattoo are neat. And the grass looks well done.

She looks quite content.

kyokurrychan @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 5:59 PM
wow, youre getting better really fast ^^ awesome. i love the face paint stuff over her eyes. and the eyes look pretty cool too ^^;

Lady_Sea @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 9:24 PM
Oh wow!! I love the coloring on this, especially the shading and lighting. She has really nifty looking eyes, green irises, red pupils. Really neat combo. I like the tattoo art on her face. It's really fitting to this character. Good job.

Darkrose @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 10:18 PM
Ooh, I like the snow in the background. It seems a litle choppy, maybe some serious blending could make it look more nifty, but I still like it. Good attention to the depth of the background, too, with all the pockets of green and the hills where roots go and such. I love the green eyes on that drow, and the facial markings are nifty. Her hair seems a little too together, maybe draw some more strands in it like you've got with the bangs there... that might help. But the lineart is crisp and nice looking and I love the eyes, good job getting them the right sizes for their respective locations. So overall great job!

Kamourian King @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:52 AM
i really like that tatoo ^^ and try useing water color for the whole Bg, itll look better ^^

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:28 PM
I just watched the animation of this, in the afternoon and I thought it was really cool. I noticed lots of details that I didn't notice off the bat. I think your highlighting is great and I love the color of her hair. She looks very pensive.

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 3:05 AM
ohh yeah finall a drow!! I like it the tatoo should have been done in Water color though... you might have considered drawing shines in the eyes also the hair is pretty good although the piece that is hanging down looks kinda like playdough...but it reall is a good pic!!although the tree is funky it is good to have a funky tree every once in awhile!! Keep it up!!

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 8:15 PM
Nice design. The tattoo(?) is interesting, and the shading on the piece is good, it goes with the theme. My only concern is that the eyes have no highlight to them, no sparkle, so the drow seems a little...lifeless. It's a bit creepy X.x

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 4:49 AM
nice face and eyes. A very interesting color combo. The face marking is cool too. I like the snowy atmosphere but i think your need a couple more details to pull it off. For instance the solid blue BG could use some speckles of white. and the ground could use areas of a more complete white then others. Or were you going for a frost as apposed to snow?

Basil @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 11:58 PM
Her hair is quite unique. =o I really like the shading that you incorporated into the facial tattoo, and her eyes are quite nice as well. Lovely image. Bravo!

This is a pic to show what my mood was for the past 2 weeks for me. I know some of you knows what it is all about, but I'd rather not explain it here since it's pretty personnal...

kyokurrychan @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 7:54 AM
waaaaaaaaah, that pic makes me uber sad ;.;

Darkrose @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 9:20 AM
aww.... I wanna pretty kitty. Of course that's how I've gotten into my current predicament, with two cats that HATE each other and one that's more neurotic than a Jhonen Vasquez character... but alas. Your picture is so sad.... hopefully you'll feel better soon <{^.^}>

Kern @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 9:35 AM
aww poor kitten *pick him up and feed him*
Well i guess you holidays sucked :/ sorry to hear about that

Harlequin @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 10:07 AM
Well, I know a little bit of what happened. And I've gotta say, I can see how it'd be damn depressing, but don't let that cloud of saddness stick around too long. It's harder to move on if you dwell too long. Though I'm really one to talk about that...

I think my favorite part of this...is the condensed breath. See, that's the type of thing I would forget, and it's those little details that just make an image look right. I like the snow gathering on the tops of the wings, and the flaps of the box, sort of shows how long this little guy has been outside. I love the fur markings, and with a subject so small I personally think it's a bit difficult to get a decent amount of detail as well as color depth in. But on both fronts you've done an excellent job. I like the piece, it's really well done, what inspired it...well, not so much.

Feel better soon Ghis, just don't stay broken up over it for too long.

(Edited on January 1, 2005, 10:23 am)

windblade @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 3:35 PM
oh... my... I don't think I ever saw you draw something this depressing, Ghis! But at the same time, I have to say it's one of my favourite of yours. Poor Ghis kitty! *puts an umbrella over the box so you don't get snowed on, and a large fluffy blanket so you don't freeze* Feel better, 'kay? We care about you.

Carbuncle @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:03 PM
AWW! this is so sad... I'm sorry about you r Holidays... I hope you feel better soon!~~~ I love the texture of the box and the paper they look damp..the snow is alittle clumpy, but I think I'v seen snow like that... overall a wonderful (sad) pic!

Optimism is the key; and drawing this type of mood out helps ease the bad thoughts.
It's a great picture; you did a wonderful job with the quality. The mood makes me feel all sad inside though :/

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 4:21 PM
This is the most heartstring-pulling, emotional picture I've ever seen you draw, Ghislain! *pat pats* Feel better, okay? All the tiny details on the kitten are amazingly well done. And he is soooo cute! (But it's sooo sad!!!!!) Just remember that you're never alone, okay?

Kamourian King @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 8:10 PM
congrats for the arcive ^^

Lady_Sea @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 9:31 PM
Aw. I'll keep you in my prayers ;_:. I hope whatever is wrong gets better.

This is really such a depressing pictures. I'm back on my kitty obsession and I want another kitten ;_:. The snow was really nicely done. It has that frostly cold look to it with the blue mixture. The sign behind the kitten was also done well. It has this tattered, beaten up city street like look to it. Did that make sense?
Nicely done. *steals the free kitten*

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:32 PM
It looks like you were feeling lonely, I'm sorry if that's the case. I think this image has a beautiful glow to it and the ralism is great. The box definately has depth and the Kitten seems to have good substance in the box. Great technique and a powerful feeling that comes across.

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 8:19 PM
I already told you what I think. =)
I like this piece, though. The emotion is well expressed and the kitty is well drawn. The taped up note is just wonderful, but yet so so sad.
I like it. It's sad, but I like it.

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 5:02 AM
indeed. This is depressing. Such a cute little kitten. Kinda reminds me of my cat when he was a kitten. Malnurished and pitiful and yet the only thing he wants is to be loved. This is a very emotional piece.

The snow is colored nicely. adding varaitions. The old box is ...well..old and ...a box. Nice job shading the box and creating the soggy falling apart apearence. and the bricks and sign are shaded nicly as well.

Basil @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 11:54 PM

Lady_Sea @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 9:37 PM
Kawaii! I think I would laugh if I understood the inside joke, but they are best left unsaid, eh? XD. The poses are really good. They're not stiff or anything of that sort, just really relaxed, like they would be in real life. You did a nice job on the coloring as well.

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:34 PM
Heh, this is a mishevious one. Good highlights on the hair and very good hands. Just wondereing, did the one on the chair lose a slipper? I like the wat you did the fabric under her, it seems very accurate. I also want to thank both you and totenmaske for giving me another chance when I spammed the board and I am very sorry that I did.

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 5:10 AM
I thnk i shall have to leave these two alone soon. *snickers* Nice poses. and ...expressions. LOL Did windy get her hair highlighted?

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 6:17 AM
...SO MUCH PURPLE AND GREEN!!! GAH!!! *rubs at her eyes* Jeez...color abuse Windy, color abuse. lol I kid, I kid. Nice lineart, though Kari's face looks a little odd. The eye is a little too close to the side of her face I think. Though I like the solid coloring...but there's one thing I notice. Some colors have stark shading, like the box and Kari's shirt, while others have really subtle shading, like the skin on both of you, and the greys used for Kari's tail and ears. Of course that's just little stupid stuff I seem so capable of picking out. lol

Basil @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 11:49 PM

Darkrose @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 9:24 AM
Cute! I espeically love the overlong sleeves... his eyes seem just a tad too low, although that's easily enough fixed, and they're well drawn. It's also beautifully shaded, although the hair might use a little more blending, but other than that... beautiful work. Keep going!

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:46 PM

oni shi @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 12:48 AM
wow i love his shirt and pants, the shadeing is messy yet pleasing to my eyes and i like the soft light colors in contrast with the darkness of dhell.

Kari Maxwell @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 2:53 AM
Kamourian, the "green animal thing" is a Carbuncle... it's a Guardian Force from the Final Fantasy games. Mostly known from Final Fantasy VIII.

windblade @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 3:51 PM
*takes a deep breath* Ieeeeee, Dhell! Poor dearie, he looks so confused! But at least he's not bleeding =3 Thanks a lot, Carbuncle!
heh... everyone draws the forehead-thingie like a gem. Weird!

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 4:33 PM
The folds of Dhell's tight black shirt are perfect! So are his proportions! Excellent and cute. ^^

Lady_Sea @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 9:44 PM
Aww, this is really cute! The expressions is really cute too. You did a nice job on drawing carbuncle ^_^ ( that's the cutest summon!). The only thing that bothers me is the slightly messy linework. Other than that, the coloring is fine. Good job ^_^

Darkrose @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 10:24 PM
Hmm... nice background. It looks a tad sloppy, but that's ok. You can still clean up some edges and things, just fix the bleeding against the wall with the scarf and the wardrobe and pay the same attention to shading on the background as you did with the figure, because that's still fantastic. And he has no feet! <{0.0}>

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 10:27 PM
Although Carbuncle is in the Final Fantasy series a carbucle is also in dungeons and Dragons! (although I don't like the armadillo style portrayed there...) *just a tidbit*

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 5:14 AM
BG looks fine to me so i can only assume you got your advise. The figures are correct and all. Though Dhell?'s face is a little low. other then that nice! A very interesting pretty kitty thing.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 6:06 AM

So...obviously I like the whole Carbuncle idea...now if only it where Cerberus...XD!! You know...I have an idea from this piece...SUCH AN IDEA!!! lol It has to do with Dhell though...maybe I'll draw that...doesn't fit with his character at all...but still...I love the idea...yes. So...I like Dhell's clothing, his pants make me think of him as a raver. lol Or at the very least one of those depressed coffee shop poets.

Basil @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 11:47 PM
I wish I had gotten a carbuncle for Christmas...! <3 Too cute!I really like his torso and arms, especially his right hand and wrist. Poor guy's so confused. Adorable!
