Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

Argagrgrarr. This was just taking too long for me to get done, so I kinda just forced myself to color it so I could move on with my life. XD
In fact, I kinda forced myself into the entire thing in the first place. I've just been in such a rut and haven't been able to get anything out. o_O; Buuuut here it is, in its entire forced glory.
I don't really like it that much, I'm just glad I was able to poop out a halphway decent background for once.
So, anyway, I'd like to thank all of you for the nice comments and suggestions. This'd probably never have been finished if I didn't have the motivation.
Meh, Well, that's about all.

Watching the animation - I notice that you seemed to be in a slight slump before settling upon this image. Personally I think this looks rather good so far ? simply because it is a rough of the line art before you begin on the actual refinement. Now that being said, I have to say that the perspective is a little off in the terms of the floor (it being a rather rough background, I believe you were planning to refine that to look better anyway). But overall I like the whole idea that you are planning with this image ? the facial expression is actually more pleasing to me than the other characters you were going through before settling on this idea. The ear we see seems to be a little odd, prospectively that is (on the left side of the canvas). Other than that wonderful work so far ? really can?t say anymore other than I hope you get to finish this!

Skittles-chan @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 5:38 AM
I agree that the perspective with the floor and such might be a little off, but not by very much. With sketches it's a little hard to tell how the lineart's going to turn out, but one other thing I noticed is that his neck seems a little too small. Of course, I have no idea exactly where you were planning to put the lines, but it looks a little off.
Anyhow, I like the face so far ^-^ The ears are really well done

LunarMnM2004 @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 5:34 PM

Looks so cute!
The smiles perfect!

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 1:31 AM
Wow, that lineart looks just fantastic... His face in particular is just beautifully done. Keep going! (I can never draw bar scenes... the floor, the table, the other patrons.. nothing's in the right place so I end up scrapping the project.)

ChronosKit @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 11:17 PM
I like this ^.^ Its nice, but his right side((the left of the picture)) looks a little too skinny to me o.o; I dont know why...probly because of the width of his shoulders, I dunno... But I like the color(s) you used ^.^

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 5:10 PM

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 5:03 PM
I really like the sepia tones! The wood floor looks so real! Nice and antique looking - including the costume designs. Awesome! ^^
To make the picture even BETTER, you could have continued on further to shading the characters and objects in the foreground with some more browns.

Seriously an excellent piece - keep it up!

Kaiera @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 10:47 PM
such a cute smile! :D I love the shading on the floor so far, and the waitress is positioned perfectly. Finish!!

Darkrose @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 3:35 AM
hehe, cool! I love the whole 'tangled in Christmas lights' thing. 'Tis nifty. Beautiful detail on little things like wings and scales, 'tis muy excellante. Your shading is always so bright and colorful, and that hat is quite nifty, it seems to bend in just the right places. Nifty job!

Rigga Mortis @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 4:10 AM
Oooh, KHatch...this is so smooth and perfect. Especially Ike's hair, it's amazing. I love his collar, as well. Kale looks cute, his grin is quite amusing, and those scales are lovely. :D It's all so shiiiny and pretty. Lucky Ikena!

Skittles-chan @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 5:27 AM
They're both cute, and for some reason I really like their facial structures. It might just be the shading, but it doesn't seem like you get to see many such realistically shaped faces. Kale's scales really do look impressive, and the hair is pretty cool too ^^ Their expressions are nice as well, and for some reason I'm really liking the way you did eyes in this image.

LunarMnM2004 @ Wednesday, December 29th 2004, 5:33 PM

You did a great job coloring and stuff!

Queen_Godzilla @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 4:43 AM
Wow, KHatch. You really outdid yourself. Seriously.

Gah, wow. They seem to have their proper facial structures (i.e., Ike is rather long-faced like a proper shoujo bishounen dude.) I'm really, really glad you didn't overdo the Christmas stuff in here. Just a touch here and there that isn't really that noticeable. They're just so both well-colored and well-proportioned... and they look so much like themselves... and OH, the coloring *_* And... damn. I've ran out of things to say.

ChronosKit @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 11:20 PM

Very interesting character design. His hair is so lovely, I had a similiar style once. :D That hand is superb, the shading and highlighting on the knuckles is a nice detail. What gets me most is the tinges of blue you've placed om his skin and clothing, which is red; the two contrast evenly, which is surprising with two such different shades. The coloured-outlines are also a nice touch, and the flames appear rather soft. This image is coming along wonderfully.

LunarMnM2004 @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 8:50 AM
This is flaming with Awsomeness... I love the fire the pose the style.. the hair.. the clothes... rules! ^_^

Sumi @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 4:34 PM
Nice hand. I like how the material gives off a really smooth feel, almost transparent in some places with the fire. I also love his hair. XD

Darkrose @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 11:54 PM
Cool story. I like the fire effect, it's almost like ethereal fire, mistic fire, something like that. I also like his outfit, and how he sort of looks like a dragon himself with the spikey hair and the serpentine eyes. The stark white background looks a little funny, like it's unfinished (you can all kick me if it actually is unfinished) but other than that I like the pose, the shading, just about everything. Great work.

TigerHawk @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 2:43 AM
Rigga Mortis: The Blue tinge is actually from the fire. I gave the fire blue tips, ya it does look weird ^^

Darkrose: I did say in my Comment it is not finished yet ^^ i wanted to add the Dragon God of Fire. I also gave him a Name too. Ab'a'cra

Rigga Mortis @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:18 AM
Aaah, right, right, I see now. Very faint on my monitor, but a bit of adjusting and there's the blue on the white. Very nicely blended! :D Another note: the shirt-cuffs (er, hems?) are fancy and neat.

KHatch @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 8:22 PM

Tigerhawk @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:39 AM
Actually The Dragon isn't "there" (there is no spoon) LOL It's just one of those things where it has double imaging. Crap like that. The size of the dragon is much larger than that, half the size of the once tall Twin Towers. But I like what you said I'll keep that in mind.

Aww, he is cute. I like the perspective you used on this one, and the little present. The whole thing fits together so nicely, although the tongue hanging out is a little distracting. Or maybe it's just the lack of smile that makes it look that way.. anyway, he's immensely cute, excellent job on this one.

Skittles-chan @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 4:24 AM
He's cute ^^ The perspective is pretty good, and I like the way the lineart is just a bit darker than the colour it surrounds. It doesn't seem to have any element of fantasy, though..

Sephie Strife @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:00 AM
Snnnooooww!!! X3

OMG, you're so good with perspective. >> I can't draw that kind of poses correctly at all.
My favorite part of that drawing is the frame, those blue corners are just sooo neat and add such a great touch to the whole picture. X3
And the little present box looks really cute! XD Love it.

Rigga Mortis @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:20 AM
Yay, it's done! Aww, lookit the mouth. The white poof and eding on the hat look really soft, as they did before, and the eye turned out really shiny and pretty since I last saw it. My little suggestion would be to add a bit more depth to the shading of the shirt or hat. Nice back-ground and 'frame-work' on the egdes!

Ghislain WildCat @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 8:03 AM
Hehe! Pretty cute! It's pretty nice how some things looks so fluffy compared to the rest of the pic. And the angle's well drawn! Oh! and maybe you should've shaded a bit ddarker, especially on the skin, since it seems to be in a pretty dark place and all. ^w^;

KHatch @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 8:23 PM
Aw this is CUTE!!! I like the coloured lineart. I tried that the other day and it made me sick, I messed it up so badly. Kudos on that. The fluff on the end of the hat is perfect, and I like the border and the plain background. The snow settling on the hat is a nice touch. =)

Jennifer @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 10:32 PM
She looks so very pretty, Kari. I'm sure that Carbuncle will adore this.
I'm glad you didn't go with the fairy norm and give her pale skin. She looks lovely with dark skin. It really adds to the contrast between her and her surroundings. Her eye makeup is very original. Very pretty.

It's beautiful! I particularly like the ice mountains in the background, and the rings of jewels around her eyes. You could maybe have adjusted the hairline a bit, it's not quite level with the rest of her features, but I still really like it. It almost looks like it was colored with markers... too cool.

AnimeCanuck @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 3:11 AM

Sephie Strife @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 4:49 AM
Woah, that picture looks great. X3
What captures my attention when I look at it is the icy background, it's my favorite part of the drawing, it looks so... icy!! XD I really really love ice.
The shading in the fur on her coat is really nicely done too! o_o
And the way you colored her lips is just so great. X3

Rigga Mortis @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:23 AM
Oooh, the hair, the hair...everything is so shiny! And that background makes me think sharp, jagged snowed-in mountains. :D Her eyes and the make-up surrounding them are quite vivid, and those lips are lovely. I adore her outfit, mainly the fur-lining, you really mixed blue and yellow well together. Her hair is intriguing, lavender? I can't really tell, but it still looks nice. My only little suggestion would be to give a clean-up to the line-art of her jaw, as the black thickens their noticably, but it's nothing major. :D I like this a lot, it's very wintery.

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 6:59 AM
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! YAY! I'm sooo happy !!! *jumps around* ohh this is so lovely!! I love the wings and the furr... and the makeup reminds me of the Shiva a FF Game...( either I'm up too late or I play to many games...0_0 ) I'm very happy with this Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Queen_Godzilla @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 4:19 AM
Hey Kari --

Wow, you got a lot of good contrast in this. The lilac color, dark skin and yellow keep that going. I like that. It makes things pop out, really. Like her eyes, or her lips or the fur collar. Interesting design too -- I love her eyes, they're very 80s fantasy.

The only thing I'd really critique are the wings. They kind of blend with the hair and it took me a while to figure out if they were wings or really part of the cloak.

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 9:39 AM
I must not have noticed this on my previous comment spree, but I'm sorry =3 I really like it. It reminds me somehow of Neopets, which may or may not have been intended. Also, she has dark skin, and I'm sick of the icy archetype things being so pale and white all over. The dark skin suits her. I like the eyes very much too, the bits around them, and how her pupils are so light. Very nice job shading the fur, though it is just a little messy in places. I like her hair, though it could have used just a little bit more definition.

Chime @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 6:54 PM

This is the Secret Santa gift for..... KHatch!!!!!!!!!!! Who requested Lai'Rena. Now i tried really hard but i dont think i captured her very well. Hope you like it! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

KHatch @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 6:34 AM
No way! She's perfect! I really like her big gooey eyes! You got her hairstyle all perfect and stuff.
Thanks, it's great! *giant hug of doom*
*falls in love with her little ears*

Skittles-chan @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 6:41 AM
This is really very pretty ^^ Her eyes are lovely, and I like how the wings look. The shading on her skin is pretty good, too. The only things that bother me are the colour bleeding, and the lack of detail in the base of the globe. Otherwise, it's pretty, and very christmasy ^^

Rigga Mortis @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 6:40 PM
Crou, you made the orb shiiiiny! KHatch's character looks really cute and happy, the lower lip is adorable and I, too, love the big goopy eyes. X3 The hair is pretty, as are those wings. :D

Darkrose @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 6:58 PM
It's lovely! I really like the shaggy wings, yepyep. I always love your eyes, too Her ears seem a little bit too low, but other than that this is a fantastic picture. Merry Christmas!

Rasen @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 7:59 PM
Oh, pretty! The glow of light off the globe is lovely and really gives it a glassy look. I especially like her eyes and her wings, and the simple background makes the globe stand out. I like the way you depicted the snow settling on her shoulders too. ^_^

Jennifer @ Sunday, December 26th 2004, 12:58 PM
This is so cute, pretty and original. I like the idea of putting someone's character into a snow globe. It's very pretty. The globe and character themselves seem magical. She looks like she might blink or flap her wings. Beautiful job.

TigerHawk @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 1:26 AM
Her eyes are gorgous!

Sumi @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 5:02 PM
This is so cool! The snowglobe idea is genius. XD Yes, the bleeding colour on the snowglobe base is a little distracting but it's not that bad. Nice job.

AnimeCanuck @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 8:25 PM
She's got a very cute and innocent look to her. I hope she's actually happy to be put in a snowglobe like that, and not just under some sort of creepy spell. The green eyes are really intense! ^^

Rigga Mortis @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 6:38 PM
Awww. I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, King! I hope you feel better during Christmas Day (today! :D). This is a tad depressing, yes. *Gives the guy some cookies.* It's coming along in an neat way, though, I'm curious about what's in the background.

Darkrose @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 6:57 PM
aww... *pats on head* I'd invite you to my house for Christmas but, you know, Alaska's kinda hard to get to... But nice lineart so far, keep going! (btw... did you ever finish the other piccie you did the other day? *races to go see*) Merry Christmas!

He looks so depressed. Cheer up, okay? Really good work.

Ikena @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 10:33 PM
aww poor Zan *hugs him* =3

Darkrose @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 11:57 PM
aww... this really is sad. A little faster coloring job than many of your others, but still a nice effect overall. I particularly like the addition of the drooping whiskers, they really help portray the emotion of this pic. *sniffsniff* Sad tiger-boy-things in snow...

Rigga Mortis @ Tuesday, December 28th 2004, 5:25 AM
D: Aww, sad still? This is progressing nicely, if not a little bit slowly, King! Poor guy, though, the drooping whiskers add to his sad expression. The background is shiny, especially the snow. It matches his skin. Blue is such a neat idea for a skin tone. :3 A little note: his eyes look a tad uneven, on the under-side, if you can understand that.

Kamourian King @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 4:35 PM
eek.... yeah sorry its takeing so long, i came down w/ a cold so ill fin this tonight......^^; and i have a idea fer another one

Or, as she proclaims herself, "the cutest assasin ever!"
She's a character from a comic idea. :X
I wanted to draw her with a weapon or something.... But I couldn't think of anything. ^-^;

LunarMnM2004 @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 5:34 PM
How about gloves with spikes on them... or.. miniture sythes between each finger and stuff lol. or a thing that goes over her full arm with spikes. <ignore her rambling> ^_^ I like the smirk .... it actaully kinda scares me... ^_^

AnimeCanuck @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 6:14 PM
Hehe. Pretty sweet. It looks like she's just about ready to karate-chop someone to death. What about shurikens? A traditional ninja/assasin favourite. Plus, if she wasn't karate-chopping someone, I'd say she was throwing something.

Rigga Mortis @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 7:02 PM
Neat character design. The eyes are quite expressive, and that grin is almost maniacal. The watercolours on the hair is pretty. :D The line-art could be a little cleaner on the hand, but otherwise this looks very nice.

HuntressD @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 8:08 PM
Aw shamdu! This rocks! But wouldn't the cutest assassin be in a frilly pink dress and steal pocky? >_> Yeah, like she needs a sugar overdose, she's scary enough like that. :D (scary smile. o.o)

Rasen @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 9:01 PM
Heheh, she definitely looks sneaky, with that little smirk on her face. ^^;; Lovely hair, and nice folds on her hood. I also really like the perspective. Even though only her top is showing, I get the image of her crouched on some tree-branch, looking down at some potential victim. Very nice. ^_^

Darkrose @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 9:09 PM
That's pretty darn cool.. I love the blue paint on her face, it's very Celtic and I like it <{^ ^}>. Beautiful shading on her face and in the background, it really feels like a sunny forest on a warm day... alas for sun, for warmth! I miss it so! Anyway, I love her design and the mischeivious grin, and the hand is really well done. Her head seemes a bit squashed to me, I think she needs more hair or something to show the roundness of it (assuming, of course, that she's human and not halfling). Still beautiful work though, congrats.

catboi incubus mishi @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 11:01 PM
She needs those ninja throwing stars! Although, her face paint reminds me of Mexican pro wrestlers. XD; Her smile scares me - I always thought that Yuffie was the cutest ninja ever. XD I love Jojo's hairstyle and the shinies. X)

Jennifer @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 12:25 AM
She looks so cute. Her hair is very nice and looks so fluffy. I like her wicked grin. I think her weapon would be a poison blow dart.

Skittles-chan @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 5:35 AM
Very nice character ^^ I really like how you exaggerated certain details, like her smirk and her eyes. She is cute, but she still has that kind of scary assassin thing going for her too ^^; The only critique I have is with the way you drew the line of the hoodie around her arm. It makes it looka little too small, and too low.

celestial crou @ Saturday, December 25th 2004, 7:01 AM
Ohhh....evil grin! Hes all "wacha!" The amount of detail in the hair is ...wow. YOu have highlights shading and a circle of highlight on top of that. The BG really brings the sweater and character forward. very nice. MY only prob is the sketchyness of some of your lineart. mainly around the hand.

TigerHawk @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 1:40 AM
I love that grin. So mischief. I'm compelled to her hand. It's drawn superb. Craziness.

Sumi @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 5:57 PM
Well... I think she looks like should have something to knock people over the heads with. XD I dunno, something in tha smirk just says it. Very good shading and expression.

Ikena @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 10:29 PM
I love her expression, thi her head looks kinda weird.. like she is missing half her head.. =P but thats just cause of the way you drew her hair.. =P
other than that is pretty I like the coloring too!

YourNuubGod @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 9:54 PM
I like the unicorn horn. It's all red n green. Mmm. Green..

Nice shading on the shirt, too. :D

celestial crou @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 10:31 PM
neat race idea. Zee horn is accurate and quite detailed. Christmas colors! YOu used a lot of complementary colors too. Which really brings out the sweater. Very nice.

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 11:42 PM
Interesting... his/her horn is red and green holiday-like. Awesome. I like the idea, particularly the pale skin with floppy ears. The sweater seems a little sloppy, I think you could have taken more time on it to really make it look fantastic, because the face and hair are very well done. Great work, though, and keep it up.

Rasen @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 2:38 AM
I like the rippled background. He has such a confident smirk on his face. ^^;; Can he back it up?

The horn matches really well with the sweater. Christmas-like indeed. ^_^

Rigga Mortis @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 3:11 AM
Interesting idea for the green-and-red-striped horn! Very Christmasy, as is that rather warm and pretty sweater. The hair, namely the bangs, could be a little less messy, and the lines of the sweater more equally spaced, but I do like the shading and highlighting of the red on the sweater. ^^

HuntressD @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 5:11 AM
Christmas horn! Nice color, fits well with the upcoming holiday. :) Hmm.. the shoulder on our right seems a bit square.. I would suggest rounding it off a bit like you did for the other one. :3

AnimeCanuck @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 8:22 AM
Heh, well, this was really a quickie.

It's a guy, by the way. *nods* For those of you who were confused. See, I figure, Unicorns are the stuff of dreams... At least, that's how I see them after the dream I had where I dreamt I was a Unicorn. It was pretty sweet. I think I'm going to make a manga out of it, so that's why I'm just playing with and practicing my concept art. I'm still not sure if I want them to have pointy ears or not.

And your right... that shoulder IS really square... It's kinda grossing me out now! XD

LunarMnM2004 @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 8:35 AM
I like the horn... green and red so christmassy!
I dun care what others say I like the green background!

catboi incubus mishi @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 4:10 PM
Very cute idea, although I think you could have used a more dynamic pose. (: The coloring is very nice, although there almost no shading, which makes me sad. D: But full of Christmas cheer, this image is! :D

Lady_Sea @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 11:59 PM
This is a very nice character design. The shading and highlighting is good too, but I think alot more could have been done in this picture. It has potential. But like you said, you ran outta time, what can ya do? lol. Nice job.

AnimeCanuck @ Monday, December 27th 2004, 8:38 PM
Hmm... Yeah, I really need to try my hand at dynamic poses. My problem is I suck at drawing bodies! The only thing I really feel comfortable with is the face and hair... and occasionally hands. Anybody want to make any suggestions? I'm not going anywhere today... I could use some inspiration. (besides the bad Santa idea I had a few days ago, and already failed at on paper).

Alright, alright, I know. I shouldn't be submitting more than once in one day, but this is a very special occasion - tomorrow is Windy (Windblade)'s birthday! Huzzah and hooray! For those of you who haven't been graced by her art and presence, damn people, you're missing out. She's creative and one of the damn best artists on Drowkaki! Not to mention she's one of the few remaining Ancients from the original Drowkaki way back when. Anyway, this is Samuel and Kyan, two of our RP characters. I adore Windy, and you should too! :DDD <33
Happy Birthday, Windybear!

Finished! And my comment comes a few weeks after that poignant fact. Go me... Sorry for the well never coming back and finishing up the comment, but you know how things are? as in I?m old and decrepit ;3. Anyway onto the image! I really like the festive aspect carried with your patented sparkly effect in the background?what seems to be lacking though are the wonderful streamers of light you occasionally use ? and that would have fit perfectly in this image. What I have always said, and probably will keep on saying about all your images ? they have such a wonderful sense of natural positioning.

The pose just seems to be fitting, and with your style ? it just seems to be more natural. That is something I like about your images they are like little slices of emotion and natural pose ? and most of that sense of the ?natural? seems to come from the way you render hands and facial expressions. Now some may say your hands are overly large, but really I think that makes them more expressive ? I do have a little issue though in this image about the arms, there is no wrist it seems ? of course this is coming from a guy with girly arms?so I think maybe I am a little too judgmental in that area. The facial expression ? is sugary sweet, though very pleasing to me.

Your line art is something that has always been very pleasing though sketchy ? the thing is once I have seen your other work in other applications I always want to see more of your smooth line art ? though even when I do get that in your images I miss your sketchy line art? so I?m doubly damned! But anyway the line art is very pleasing in that sketchy effect, some of it hurts though, simply because it seems to be a mistake than a correct rendering in some areas ? that being of the hand against the head, but really it?s fine, just the little stray marks of hair and the transparent effect makes the finger for a split second seem very deformed.

Colouring is interesting, you seem to be going for the dabbled effect, and you carry it very well in this image ? it gives a sense of lighting and slight texturing to the features of the characters. The hair has that little shimmer effect, which is pleasing though I think the transparent effect you do does tend to play upon the viewer as an obstacle until they release ?that?s an eyebrow.? Then we all do ?ahhh?I see ;3?

The weakest aspect of the image? Well the balloons? I just think they come across more flat than anything else in the image ? if they were just well coloured like the people in the image it would have worked better I think ? with that dappled colouring effect.

But overall a fantastic image, and one of the many of long stream images I personally enjoy that you have made; the eyes, the sense of warmth about the characters just speaks quality in the end. I hope to see more of your images! Especially since the board has been wiped? ;3

My character Cray which I've drawn here before and her character Meino. Both are in a RPG together and it looks like the two are going to be hooking up.

Not a fan of pink, but it's the color of the holiday that suits the drawing. Red just didn't really look good. Blah at the pink.

missjtsang @ Saturday, January 22nd 2005, 10:04 PM
Wow this is so soft *_* You can do so much with just one color xD That's just awesome. I'd suggest to make it a tad darker though...it's really straining my eyes to look at everything xD Maybe it's my computer though.
Beautiful picture, great pose and everything ^^

Very beautiful tones. I agree with missjtsang though, it does strain your eyes a little. But both characters have very nice designs and I love the little speech bubbles with the "<3" and "!". =3 I hope she'll be your Valentine too!

catboi incubus mishi @ Sunday, January 23rd 2005, 4:40 PM
Aww, Jennie, I love your tones! <333 This is so sweet, I'm sure your friend will like this. I like this shade of salmon pink, it's awesome. x)

I absolutely love it! Great pose, nice colour scheme (it really works) and really nice tones. I hope the best for you. ^^

Starisan @ Sunday, January 23rd 2005, 10:53 PM
oh wow, the technique in this is excellent, I have always been a fan of your style but this is one of my favorites of yours. It is very proportionate and sweet. I wish someone would hold me so happily. you did a great job, happy v-day to you too!

Ashi @ Monday, January 24th 2005, 3:12 AM
I love the tones in this, first off. The girl doesn't really seem to be coherent about what she's in for, but the lineart of both characters is superb.. plus the fact that it's all done in red for V-Day!

Chime @ Monday, January 24th 2005, 2:21 PM

The toneowrk. Thats the main part of this whole thing. Ive always liked one-color tone-art, but this is awesome. Usuallly people use black - this is original, and fabulous. I think my favorite part is his hair - its so shii~iiny......

Great work, keep it up!!!1

Shakaku @ Monday, January 24th 2005, 9:05 PM
People who can use tones, and use them throughout the entire picture make me envious. There for I am envious of you. I mean a mono color scheme and tones.... Wonderfully done. I clap my hands... *claps*

Tigerhawk @ Tuesday, January 25th 2005, 5:26 AM
My, my, my, I love the use of toning in this picture. The girl looks so very cute in this picture. makes me want to draw a cute valentine picture but alas...i can't...i hate Val. Day. *mumbles to self* the only thing that really stands out is the highlighting from their outfits. it may or may not have come out better with the toning. but what do I know? ^^

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 25th 2005, 6:03 AM
Wow, these tones are gorgeous! The pink is a bit of an eyestrain, and I HATE pink myself, but it's very nice.
The poses and proportions are very well done and it's just great.
Good luck! =)

I like the eyes, very shiny *3*

Keep going!!

Starisan @ Monday, January 24th 2005, 5:04 PM
Of course you'll prevail! For you are Mistress Crou! Love the start since you say it's not finished....The flowers are excellent detail and so his his expression. The purple eyes surprised me on her but I like that. Go Crou! Go Crou!

The eyes are already quite nice. And the BG is pretty. =)

darkrose @ Tuesday, January 25th 2005, 6:07 AM
nifty. Yeah, I can definitely see the whole 'winter and spring' thing from this, that's totally cool. Although I love the vampireness... their hair is amazing but your eyes always get to me - they're so luminous and attractive I can't help but get sucked in. Lovely detail on the flowers in her hair, too. This is so pretty!

Ignore the timer, i ate dinner and did other stuff after i finished the lineart XP. The anatomy looks so off in this picture. Is it just me or is her head to big for her body? Eh whatever XP.
P.S. yeah definitely my first time ever drawing wings, so they look like crud

ChronosKit @ Saturday, January 22nd 2005, 3:01 AM
Her head fits perfectly, it just looks to me like her neck is a little too big. I love the wings, and the proportions dont seem to be that much off. Good job ^.^

darkrose @ Saturday, January 22nd 2005, 4:49 AM
I love the wings too, and her eyes are beautiful. OK, yeah, I can see now that her head is a tad too big for how you've got the rest of the body, although I think if you had scooted her neck up a bit more under her chin and made her breasts a little bigger (larger chest) then this would be perfect. Other than that you've got beautiful colors and lovely shading and the playing of color on the frames is very whimsical, I like it muchly. Overall you did a really good job.

Tigerhawk @ Saturday, January 22nd 2005, 6:14 AM
Hey she reminds me of Quistis (spelling?) from FF VIII. Her eyes came out great. Really great. As everyone else has mentioned, so did her wings, detail is very wonderful. Love the colors.

Chinh @ Saturday, January 22nd 2005, 3:05 PM
wah....nice ^____^ I like her wings a lot too =D and also, she's got a real beautiful face =) nice shadings ^__^

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, January 22nd 2005, 3:47 PM
Her head seems only slightly too big, and I think it may be because of the big, well, bump of hair on the back of her head. She's a very pretty fairy nonetheless. :) I really like the eye makeup, it's something you often see in fantasy art. x) She reminds me of a friend of mine, but as a fairy. Great job!

Crest @ Saturday, January 22nd 2005, 8:47 PM
Pretty face and I love the design for the hair. I don't really see anything wrong with the wings. I really like how you drew the lips. They have great shape to them. :D

Starisan @ Sunday, January 23rd 2005, 10:54 PM
wonderful eyes and skin tones. It is very colorful without being sporattic or overwhelming, it works well. lovely wings.

Chime @ Monday, January 24th 2005, 2:16 PM
Something about that ear bothers me. ... .. . .. . .

Anyways. This would look so much better if the coloring was slightly neater. I see many places where it bleeds through the lineart. The lineart itself? Its great, simple, not so choppy, more-or-less neat. The skin-tones are fabulous.

I suggest, for the gem (that is a gem, right?) on her forehead, you add a bit of shine to make it stand out. The earring too. Otherwise, the picture is awesome, and nice eyes ^^

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 25th 2005, 6:08 AM

This one is pretty much self explanatory.
Argpoodle is the master of illusion, so if he deems a note pinned on his chest as camoflauge, then he wills it so. The poor guard read the note, and it was like 'Poodley wasn't even there. Never saw it comin'. Heh.
NOW comments are welcome. By far I think this is one of the more complex ones...I really got tired doing the shading tonight. I have a migraine and my first day of class this semester was rough. BLAH! TIRED!!!
Yeah, 'Poodley's hand isn't connected to the groin, nor is he in a position to have ever connected, but we can pretend.
And the knights are Purple Dragons from Suzail. They're after my drow in our game.

I am greatly enjoying your little Argpoodle and friends comics. They are so cute and funny. Your characters in these comics are so colorful.
I must say, my favorite parts of this comic are the expressions. Argpoodle's naughty expression, the shocked expressions of your drow and the knights, and of course the victim's "urk" expression are very funny.

wow, I really REALLY love the colors here (even if they're not done...?) It's simple and lovely and the earthy tones are warm and comfortable. Unfortunately I don't quite get "suffering" from this picture (at least not yet), it's so peaceful and calm and the colors really draw you in and make you feel, well, comfortable. Just beautiful composition, I love the wings and the expression and the messy hair, it just flows together so perfectly. Great job...

Starisan @ Sunday, January 16th 2005, 8:37 PM

The lighted background is nice. I like the suggestion of wings, I get the feeling that he is self conscience.I like the pattern of his robe. What are those types of robes called? I don't know too much about the tradition. It seems a very moody drawing. Smiles to you.

Lady_Sea @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 8:47 PM
I agree, this picture does give off a very moody feel. He almost reminds me of Sesshoumaru from Inu-Yasha. Especially with that design on his shoulder and the hair and eye shape. But it's plenty enough of your own style to make it your own character. The bright green color of his eyes is also something to look at. They glow they're so bright, and it pops out nicely with the matching background. Nice job.

Kaede @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 9:42 PM
Well bascially what you see on him is a plain Kimono, the only difference is he is wearing Hakama pants over the kimono and has it tied with date-jime belt.
He looks like Sesshoumaru-sama because he was at first based on the character but sort of involved into his own. ^^

Carbuncle @ Saturday, January 8th 2005, 10:29 PM
ohh wow the thing that drew me into this picture was tha beautiful GREEN BG!!!!!! I love green! And his eyes are just soo intense! I do like the traditional style clothing ! (It's neat to know all kinds of those things!) allthough I do think the face is a little long it adds so the solomness of this pic I hope you find your style soon I like this one but it all depends on you ...

darkrose @ Sunday, January 9th 2005, 6:09 AM
I like the green theme in the background, it's almost 'matrix' like which is interesting and cool. It makes me think this character has a very scientific mind. I like the design on the kimono, too, with the simple black moon on the shoulder and the plain black and white everywhere else. You know I think you're really good at this Japanese clothing style, but you could always improve. Maybe you could find some really awesome sites that show you the different pieces and how they go on, with pictures? Your shading is fantastic here, and the whole thing fits together very nicely.

KHatch @ Sunday, January 9th 2005, 8:28 AM
Again with the clothing, very nice, and I really like how you shaded the face and gave it detail without any solid lines. I can't seem to accomplish that. YAY for shiny green wings!

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, January 15th 2005, 4:30 PM
Pretty. ^^ The way his kimono hangs makes him look like he has droopy breasts. xD To avoid that, don't start the curving of the kimono so high next time. His face bothers me a bit, though, because his eyes are so small and high, and his nose is really low. O: It makes his face look disproportionate. D: Anyway, he's pretty. ^^~

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 23rd 2005, 5:42 PM

I don't know, I like it just as is, thanks. It's very simple, very striking with the beautiful shading on his face and ear and the plain black and white for contrast. Beautiful shading on that face, by the way. I think the highlights on his neck and collarbone could have been a little closer to the black lineart, but it's still fantastic with that lovely wild hair and the smooth detailed, well, cleanness of it all. Is that a word? Anyway, I just love it. Great job.

I like how he's just staring off into the distance... you know something's on his mind.. Cool. ^^ Nice colouring of the flesh, too.

"Ahhhh...nothing better than a nice long bed-vacation after Goblin hunting...."

>D Alright. Ive been totally obsessed with Final Fantasy XI. Hahahah. The appearance of the character is based upon the Mithra. For those of you who dont play, I pity you.

What I Like: In general, the coloring pleases me. And although the linework isn't my best, Im satisfied.

What i dont Like: I went over-board with the shirt-wrinkling >D Hahah. And I got a "background-block" so I just painted a bunch of clouds on the wall ^^

And no, the "boobie" was not intentional, its just the position. If you look REALLY hard, you can see the upper curve of the other "boobie"

For those of you who dont know already, this is Fae. (Eternal_Fae)
And If you DO play, My character is Kitsuchi on the Asura server.

Awww, this is soo sweet. She looks so calm and at ease. The fabric strains on the pillow are done really well.

darkrose @ Thursday, January 20th 2005, 9:02 PM
This is really quite good, especially her arm, I think. The shading on that and the shape are quite pleasing. She appears to only have one breast through, something there looks not quite right. Is this done or not? It looks like it's done, but the comment at the beginning seems to suggest otherwise. Either way, it's a good start and there are definitely things I like.

KHatch @ Thursday, January 20th 2005, 10:33 PM
The shading is very nice and rich in this piece, but the BG is sad and empty. I love her arm behind her head, and yeah, she does appear to have only one boob. Intentional or undone? Nice anyway.

I like the coloring it is awesome, nad her face is so cute. Her ears are adorable too. I just want to pinch her cheeks

catboi incubus mishi @ Sunday, January 23rd 2005, 4:46 PM
Yeah, pretty much what everyone else said - where's her other breast? D:

Oi!! I'm new here *waves enthusiastically* ^_^ Well I'm quite happy with how this turned out, even though the bg sucks major monkey bums. ><

Lady_Sea @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 2:05 AM
FINALLY. You have joined!! I'm so happy XD.
My, you really have improved within the past year. Your figures are becoming more life like and are beginning to grow characters of their own. This is really a beautiful image. I really like the woody red colors in this and the sage green eyes that compliment it. The art on her chest is simple but very original and unique all in it's own way. I'm getting proud of you kiddo ^_^. As for a tad bit of cc, clean up your line art in some places. That's about it, can't wait to see some more images produced by you.

Ooh, pretty! Welcome to the board! It's so red and nicely... good job!

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 6:38 AM
I really like the design on this. The outfit and the facial features are pretty. The hair, it's so flowy! Nice shading on the face.

Kaiera @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 4:24 PM
oh very pretty :D I love all the red! Red is such an awesome color, I must say. Cool little tatoo(?) on her chest too....kinda reminds me of a snake of sorts. Is it significant in her history or something?

Verna_Venisa @ Tuesday, January 11th 2005, 7:57 PM
Thanks for the comments everyone ^^... this character is brand new, but i was thinking about making a redheaded elf a few days ago. The tatoo i dunno about. I pretty much just drew it because i didn't fell like putting in the effort to make a necklace and her neck looked bare, but 1/2-way through drawing it i decided to possibly represent the 4 elements (hence the colors). Mabye she could be a mage of sorts? ^_^ We'll see

Carbuncle @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 12:43 AM
Hia! and Welcome!!! I"m glad you joined you seem to have good talent!! the colors are very pleasing to look at! I like the kwel dress too!!! the element idea is facinating!! keep it up!!!

Starisan @ Wednesday, January 12th 2005, 1:41 AM
yeah! Elves rock my socks too. This is a very cool piece. I like the shine in the eyes and the red color palette, very passionate. The eyes may be a little high...The earings are awesome and the skin tones and shadows are very good.

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, January 15th 2005, 3:54 PM
Welcome to the board! :3 This is a pretty elf. Something about her face seems odd to me, I think it might be how she's slightly cross-eyed. Also, I think her nose could use a bit more definition, since it seems you're going for a slightly more realistic than cartoonish look. I think, for her collarbone, you could have used just watercolors to make it less harsh. Same goes for the tattoo - it looks more like it was drawn on with Sharpie than tattooed, I think if you smoothed the edges with watercolor is would look more realistic. Just one more thing, I promise, and then I'm done - the curve in her hair at the top of her head seems to go out a little much. :o Anyway, I'm a fan of reds and silvers, so I'm digging her outfit. x) Again, welcome to Drowkaki!

Kaede @ Sunday, January 16th 2005, 2:52 AM
Hi, welcome to the board. -waves-

I personally like the nose, and the hair is very nice. I really like her bang.

Kage Kitsune @ Thursday, January 20th 2005, 1:29 AM
this is pretty cool. I like her clothes and the tattoo on her chest. The background is kinda crummy...
