Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

lol... you know what I'm doing this Valentine's day? I'm going to school in a black hooded cloak with a plastic bow and arrow set with fake blood on the rubber tips.. and I'm going to shoot anyone that looks lovey-dovey. It shall be excellent. Of course then I'll be locking myself in my dorm room with just me, my video games, and a heart-shaped pepperoni pizza from Boston's. *sniff*. Still, this is really cute, and the chibiness of it with the sword and the magicy goodness makes me giggle. Rock on.

windblade @ Monday, February 14th 2005, 2:00 PM
waging war on valentine's day! yay!
I love the strange way you color eyes, it gives them a more intense look. May I suggest shading fluff with a bigger, softer watercolor brush? it'll look less scribbly and more fluffy this way.

KHatch @ Tuesday, February 15th 2005, 5:58 AM
Nice idea.
I wish my VDay were a bit more pleasant...my reasons are in my most recent picture above, and I'll leave it at that.
The face is so cute! I love the way you coloured it all, and I agree with windy on how to make it look more fluffy.

GRAAAAAR!!! OK, well the real purpose of this drawing was to express my intense frustration at NOT BEING ABLE TO DRAW. I have no tablet, I don't plan on owning one, everything digital I do is with a mouse. So I'm home for the holidays, away from my own computer and using my parents', and their mouse is RIDICULOUS. Even when you change the mousepad the dang thing sticks, skips, lags, cuts out, and any number of other nasty little things that make oekaki damn near impossible to do. And thus I decided to play with the imprecise art of watercolors, because I can make a whole lot of little clicks and swipes to try and do a picture without having any lineart or details (believe me, I tried to do both but to no avail).

*sigh* Ah, well. This didn't turn out half as bad as I'd expected it to, although I'm still not all that fond of it. I couldn't get the color smooth enough for my tastes, and the mouse kept skipping whenever I'd try to do little things like the nose or the eyes. Thus, the timer is actually acurate on this one, I have no idea what it is but it's true whatever it is. *Ahem*, this is a pixie from a new story I'm writing. Sort of based off the picts of the ancient British Isles, they are blue and have wierd hair (rather the texture of spaghetti, most keep it in cornrows or other such devices), large noses, small pointed ears, and they stand between two and three feet tall. They don't wear many clothes, living in a very tribal shamanistic kind of setting. Big deals for them are wearing plants around their ankles and wrists (and in their hair), large earrings (gold preferrable, because it's shiny and they LOOOOVE it), and generally decking themselves out in as much nifty stuff as possible (pearls, beads, shells, gold stuff), oh, and ceremonial tatoos for every occasion, name, social thingus and whatnot. This one is rather young, which is why she has only one large string of pearls and one large gold earring, with just the naming tatoo upon her forhead and her clan tatoo under her eyes.

Wow that was a long intro... comments welcome, although take this with a grain of salt because I was having a great deal of trouble. Thanks for your time!

catboi incubus mishi @ Thursday, January 13th 2005, 2:39 PM
Hey, darkrose! Glad to see you back! x) You did this with a touchpad? Hot damn, girl. xD I'm not going to go too hard on this, merely because I know it was pretty hard enough to draw in the first place!I think, if I had to find some 'problem' with this image, I would say her forehead - it juts out a lot and sort of bothers me. ^_^; But aside from that, this image is nothing short of beautiful! I love the shading, it's so tangible and her earring looks real. Great job! :D

Kaede @ Thursday, January 13th 2005, 8:23 PM
Wow, I personally thing your really really good with watercolors. I really like thespixie things, this one is very beautiful. Her eyes are nice to look at, and her lips are just beautiful. Even though you were stuck with a mouse that that, this turned out really really good. Your really good at realism. =0

celestial crou @ Friday, January 14th 2005, 4:38 AM
Dude i SO know what thats like. And i know how you can 'fix' that mouse prob. If by some crule twist of fate you and that mouse should cross paths again. LOL At least it sounds like the prob i had with my mouse. You have to take the ball out and then look inside the mouse. There will be these little roller things that make the mouse move. up down and the right left. If you find what look like well....a black rubber band with puffy stuff around it thats your prob. Thats all dead skin and C_ _ _ thats been flatened into a thin strip. So you have to remove those thingies and the mouse will work good as new! If not that....lo siento cause i cant help you. NOw im no comp wiz but thats what works.

Now for the piccy. This is a beutiful mix of colors. The BG is mellow and soft with complementary colored fairies? And the vine boarder....Thats quite elabrate for having absolutly no control over the mouse. The skin is shaded and highlighted to add depth which pulls the figure out. The BG and the FG work fantastic together. And the hair. We dont see those very often. Kudos to you!

darkrose @ Friday, January 14th 2005, 5:20 AM
Thanks Crou, although guess what? It's a lazer mouse! No ball to remove... it's just a crappy mouse. Ah, well... thanks for the help, though.

PS: Mishi, this better? I straightened out her forhead a little more, thanks for that. I missed it when eyeballing her before (but that's what these boards are for, right?) and while I was at it I decided to give her lips more definition and give her a nose stud. Just for fun <{^.^}>

catboi incubus mishi @ Saturday, January 15th 2005, 3:12 AM
Hoyes, much better! She's so pretty. x) I love the addition of the nose-ring. :3

Starisan @ Saturday, January 15th 2005, 4:35 AM
Hi! I like her eyes they are very realistic. The nose looks pretty well done too, maybe just a little wide at the top...great job with the jewelry, it looks very metallic. I like the effect of the blurred background, it makes it more photgraph like, to focus on the frontal image. The corn rows are a very unique and good looking idea. The nose stud seems to fit in with her character, I like that attention to detail. The symbols are nicely put as well, the are subtle but get their point a cross. I really like the way the neck turned out. Nice One!

Queen_Godzilla @ Friday, February 18th 2005, 12:20 AM
Gnome people. Like the Nac MacFeegles in the Terry Pratchett books, eh?

For something that was made with a mouse (and a glitchy one at that) this is freakin' incredible. Really. I feel that the painting style accurately represented the elements in the picture in terms of texture and lighting. She isn't flat, but rather 3-D. Aah, and so many little details like the nose ring and the eyelashes! Aya!

All I can think to critique is that her neck might be a bit short, but she's a stocky fae breed so that's probably not a problem.

Hmm... the name definitely sounds familiar... <{^ ^}> Welcome back! This is lovely lineart, I have to admit, and the variations of color used for shading are very lovely. A little extreme in places, but still you did a fantastic job. I like the cat eyes on the black haired one, and the eye on the red haired one is very beautifully done.. Their hair is very shiny :)... My biggest beef is really just nitpicking. The cat-eyed guy's cheekbone is highlighted in a wierd way on the side furthest from our perspective... and his hair hangs over a shiny spot without shadow on that same side. Yeah, that's all I got... this is really wonderful work! Welcome back!

Prismatic @ Thursday, February 3rd 2005, 8:16 AM
The colors you used for the skin tones are nice. And of course the multiple tones give it a lot of depth. I never have been able to shade with solids. I specifically like the red heads eye. And the shineyness of thier hair!

I've had moments like that... my fighter, JT, only had enough gold for one room in the inn, so he bought the room for the lady they were protecting and decided to sleep outside. Now they've been having trouble with guards and wild animals like bears and wolves, so he thinks he'll sleep in a tree. He makes sure he has rope, so he can secure himself up there and make a little hammoc or something. Great plan, right? So he makes his climb, fails the first rope check, then a second rope check, and then two reflex saves (one made, one failed). What happened was as follows:

Jt climbed the tree and pulled out the rope. He managed to tie his hands together and get a little tangled before the rope coiled around the hilt of his sword and pulled it out of the sheath dangling it about five feet below him still attatched to the rope. JT leaned over to pull up the sword, lost his balance, over-corrected, and fell off the other side. The sword (yup, still on the rope) headed up towards JT as he fell, rather like a pulley system, but he managed to dodge it before he fell hard on his back on the ground. As he lay there in pain, rather winded, he failed to notice the sword coming back down after rounding the branch. It impaled him to the ground, securing him in place.

So the party finds JT bleeding to death, tied in rope, impaled by his own sword to the ground and completely unable to move. He did this completely on his own. THey have never stopped mocking him for that.

So! Great picture, I wish to see more when it is more done-like. I will actually comment on the image when that happens... I just thought you'd be amused by the story. <{^.^}>;;

Starisan @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 10:26 PM
Captured eh? Well she doesn't look to upset, was she captured by friends? Or maybe she's thiking that she can bust out of those ropes at any moment and that who ever captured her was silly...anyhow, I really like the drawing. I like that background cross hatching a lot with the bold lines. I like the markings that you put on her face, it seems to give it a cool ethnic feel. I also wanted to say that you did a great job with the shading and the highlights. I also like that her hair feels as thoughit has volume even though you don't highlight it. The wings are cool too! Nice one :)

darkrose @ Friday, January 7th 2005, 10:34 PM
For being all tied up she doesn't look all that upset... lovely picture here. I love the background and how you did the wings, everything is so clean and lovely it's too cool. I love the soft coloring of the angel and her clothes. It's very airbrushed and smooth. She has nice body proportions and smooth line art too. It just works really well for me. I like her idealized wings and how they're not in color, but rather in straight black and white like that background. Interesting background pattern by the way. wooooow... purple. <{^ ^}> OK so all jok ing aside this is AWESOME. The metal effect is fantastic, the glow is amazing. The character looks very wild from his appearance, but those eyes are calm. His face is very set, he's obviously a stubborn character. The dark shading under his eyes makes him look formidable, but also maybe a touch weary. The clothing is fantastically designed, complete with jeweled necklace and fur trimmed doublet. The water in the background is immensely eye-catching, and his hair reflects some of the same shifting color and motion as the rest, it blends so perfectly. It's often difficult to make a character really fit into their respective backgrounds, but this is amazing. Good job.

KHatch @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 4:16 AM
I like this a lot. The image is still a cartoon, so to speak, with lineart and whatnot, but it's a very realistic one, with the shadnig and overall colouring absolutely superb. The nose and lips are especially nice, and the shiny look to everything is beautiful. I love it! Very nice.

The character looks genuinely sad, but.. more like just discontented... And you've got a nice background, even though I can't tell what it is. (I think it's a reflection of trees in water, right?)

Awesome picture. Really well done.

His eyes are kinda haunted. It's scary when you look at him. But OH, for those costume details! @_@ ... Lord. The hair string crown, the metal plates, the fur lining, the jewels, the patterned fabric, the spikes, the giant jewel. Whoa... There's so much in this picture. It's rich and I love it.

Donno how this will turn out. If you watch the animation i did an armor version of him and then stopped. Realizing that he was in water and ...well...heavy metal objects and water dont mix. Well at least for the one who wears them. So.....donno. I think i shall have him be another one of my characters. well a fan pic character. Cause he's a drow. I thnk ill name him Dante.

ANY WAY. this is a very belated gift to all the admin. people who got the Drowtales oekaki up after that worm. Thanks!

sweet! Rock on with shading. You go. Beautiful lineart, and the hair and the background are wonderful, and the shading on his torso and the way you actually made his shirt look like it's soaking up water. Totally excellent. One other thing that wet clothing does is cling, a lot, making large tight wrinkes to itself and the skin and there's color bleeding (depending on the texture and weight of the fabric). Just something to keep in mind for next time <{^.^}>. That tree in the background rocks my world, though.

KHatch @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 4:19 AM
The face is so well done. I like how you have the shape of the head under the hair accutarely done, some people, including myself, have a hard time making sure there's enough head under the hair, or in my case a lot, there's too much head. o.O
The hair is pretty, and the tree in the BG is cute. I like it a lot. YAY!

Loki @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:27 AM
This is definately my favorite of yours! He looks so wonderful in the water like that, and the shading on his skin and shirt is beautiful. The hair is definately the greatest thing out of the whole pic to me, its so nice and different for a change, The go so well with his eyes and his hair and eyes together really give him a pretty and aquatic look, Well done CC! (can I call you that?) <3

Starisan @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 3:30 PM

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 7:13 PM
I really like this! His hair is cool, and ... I just get the feeling of "I'm a mermaid" from him... it's playing about in his mysterious eyes.

I just love how everybody's art styles differ, yet are all amazing in their own way here at Drowkaki. It's something that I love about this board!

Great picture!

The hair and eyes are so wonderfully done. Definitely love how you do the hair where the tips fade into the white...or the white fades into the blue. XD And the face is so nicely drawn. Very neat. :D

=0.......-Benjiman The Spork:.......-
Wow. Me and Benji love this!
This is like, wow. =0
Ok first of all, I love his hair. It is sooo smexy, and nice dun, and the blue tip is lovely. I secondly love his gold eyes. I mean I know Ive said I love the way you draw eyes, but I love the face his eyes are gold more. I love gold eyes they are always so... beautiful. Theres no other word for them. Thirdly, I love his lips, you REALLY did a nice job on the lips, and then the detail to the chest is just grand! I really love his chest.
Now moving on to the shirt. I like how you darkened the coloring to show that his shirt is wet. That is some good detail, that..... >.>; I would of easily forgotten which perhaps is probably why I think it is so amazing. xD Or maybe im just easily amazed hm?...-_- Oh shut up benjiman.
Ok anyway ^^ Aheeem Yes, I must say this is probably my favorite drawing out of all your work. Other than that one picture of yourself. That one was smoking.

Dante! Wonderful name for your pirate drow.

I love the anatomy on this. I dunno. His face is very delicate and elf-like, very cutesy, very ... bishounen-y. And he's staring off into space! :D

The background is barren, but in a good way. It's subtle. I love how he's half-submerged in it.

Ok 1)I classified this as adult because he's not wearing very much other than a loincloth
2) Please do NOT tell me what is wrong with this picture. Somethings have happened in \"the real world\" as I like to call it and all I've been getting lately is all the negative crap. Don't want it. Instead I find it MORE helpful if you would tell me what I did good or improved on. Hello I have eyes too, I can see my mistakes plain as day. I'm my own worst critic. I'm dead serious about this. No this is NOT A RANT. I'm making this clear.

As for my picture, yes I do see he has no nipples. Why? B/c he wasn't born in an embryo and he was geneticly altared. Yes his hair is a little weird. and so is that loincloth looking-thing. One leg is over the other just incase you didn't relize it..

Now, to help you understand this picture----- the feathers represent memories that don't exist but they're there and they're also lost memories from his past life when he was a god. The feathers on on the ethreal plane so insome case they arn't there ither but yet again they're there. (there is no spoon-gag) My character Damon had a tough life.
Please sit back and relax as you read a \"brief\" story about him.

Damon is the reincarnation of the once living god known as Daemon (pronounced -die-A-mon) A few Scientists decided they wanted to bring back this god to find their Goddess Pryrinus (pr-I-rin-us), but the scientist found out he was too powerful to sustain a physical body for them to control so they tampered with his genes. He had to find the Goddess Pryrinus before his 19th cycle or he'll die. His \"mother\" and his \"father\" were the rulers of Olokoss (the 3rd planet of his solar system) like king and queen of the planet. His \"father\" died in a war with the near by planet Solnura and his \"mother\" was assassinated in front of him at his 6th cycle. He than was transfer to a military base called Head Quarters (HQ) It was HQ that killed both his \"parents\" just so they could have him but he doesn't know that, yet. He doesn't even know that he was born in a lab. He learned to control his power at an incredible rate. Damon also met his rival there, Orion ?Pyro? Okuribi, they both became to what we know as \"5 star generals\" the highest-ranking officer you can get to. Now on to Damon's personality, He's very quiet, too quiet sometimes but talks when needed and to throw insults at Pyro. Damon is very arrogant and knows something?s up with HQ but he can't place a finger on it. He's also very intelligent. Damon is also very deep emotional but acts like he has none. Damon has a hard time dealing with love because he's never been in contact with love EVER. Forms of friendship, yes, but love no.

So you see, because he had never been associated with love, he feels much agony and pain. Why I gave him black feathers other than they were \"empty memories\". He's also actually sleeping.
Ok sorry for writing all of this. And thank you for those of you who read what I wrote, I bow to you all. I worship you.

wow, that's a very elaborate and well thought out story. He looks as if his sleep is slightly troubled, is he dreaming about his past? I love the feathers and the way you made his hair have featheriness too. great job with his skin too, I get a sense that it is warm and velvety smooth... I just like the whole package, and it is nice to get some idea where certain pieces are coming from.

is not finished now!? It's simply gorgeous! I love the shading on the hair and, well, everything actually... and the Egyptian influence in outfit (especially the inclusion of the scarab there...) and hair as well as form chosen. The wings, the lion's body, and dark hair in that style... the whole things screams 'EGYPT' which is really nifty. Like I said, I love the shading... on her torso, the gold collar and bracers, and wings and rump... just wow. If it's not done now I don't know what could possibly be done to make this look more finished and COOL.

This is just beautiful work, especially the desert and pyramid in the bg. The wings are really something to look at as well. I like how you did the varying colors of the feathers from a tan to a golden. This is a really awesome character design. Excellent work, especially on the gold jewelry.

I LOVE THIS! the sphinx is awsome! I love egyptian stuff. But with a hint of Assyrian. The figure could also fall under a Lamasu statue. The hair is very egyptian and the wings are SO cool. The BG is origional. The fact that its all in watercolor empaasizes the figure all the more. Very cool.

Ooh man...this makes me wanna draw that sphinx girl I did back before the board got consumed. lol Hmm...maybe I'll draw her again sometime...yeah...maybe maybe.

I love the cel shading here. Solid cel shading even. I personally just can't work in solids. You've got a nice sense of depth working here. I love how the wings change to that gold color at the ends. That's always a nice touch to have. The desert background with the pyramid though a little stereotypical of egypt are a nice touch. Very nice overall. I love the whole idea of the Sphinx...and of course...the riddle of the Sphinx. It's amazing how few people actually know the riddle and the answer. But not the point. lol Nice image, and egyptian inspired ALWAYS wins!

Chime @ Wednesday, January 19th 2005, 7:21 PM
Gorgeous. I adore the coloring on this, especially the way you add a touch of watercolor (yes?) . Though the lineart is slightly choppy, and the color bleeds in a few spots, this is amazing. I especially like her hair, (Head and tail).

Queen_Godzilla @ Sunday, February 6th 2005, 3:25 AM
Sphinxataur, eh?

Good: Lovely character design. I don't think I've seen one of these before. It utilizes gold and tan very well. I just wish we could see more of her bodily structure. Her legs are a mystery right now. I love her demure expression and just how her entire posture is arranged too. Very Egyptian-like.

One thing I'd like to see improved in this piece is her arm length. Her arms are just a bit too long, from where I'm sitting. They seem out of proportion with her body. Also, it seems the hindquarters are raised very high when they shouldn't be. I dunno.

heheh... it is a priceless expression. I really like that pattern you used on the right side of his shirt, that's really nifty. It looks a litle plain... like there's not enough detail to warrent the size of the canvas or something. wow. Mass of color. and a very funny pose. It makes me think of a character right after they get hit really hard and get thrown in the sky. or some such anime nonsence. I like the use of color and the shading you've done. and the highlighting. Even though its a little chibi-ish you still added detail. And thats quite the action bg.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:11 AM
lol I love the chibi-esque quality of the whole figure. lol But...and this could just be be here, but that coat thing he's wearing...it makes me think of those nylon windbreakers joggers are overly fond of wearing. Then again...maybe that's just me. lol I love the shading and highlighting, it's all so textured looking. That's just nifty. That's right...I said it...NIFTY!! lol In this case of extreme expression, the thick lines REALLY do this a lot of justice. Very good picture...and that orange and yellow background just adds so much to the crazy expression. lol Damn I love this one, I do I do!

I like the way the shadows and highlights are utilized. Y'know, that kind of scratchy coloration you used everywhere. I dunno. It just made it feel more organic.

Then, of course, there's the expression. That sort of >:D thing going on there. I dunno. The kooky way the eyes look and the cartoony mouth and expression make me happy. It's pretty freaky.

Nice details too -- the goggles, the eyes, hair, jacket, ear shape, etc. It all works together really well. Heh.

catboi incubus mishi @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 3:53 AM
I think her profile seems odd because her eye - although it's drawn really well - is awfully far back, and I think her forehead curves out a bit too much. Other than that, this looks really good, although the worms freak me out. D:

Loki @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 4:35 AM
Ooo wow! I love your profiles, your so amazing at them! I simply love her pose and the soft shading of her skin, you must finish this quickly! ^x^!

Totenmaske @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 4:42 AM
I think this profile comes across awkward only because the hand suggest her arm is bending rather too early, if you brought the arm down and her hand closer to her body I think it would come across a lot better.

Personally I think your images have been improving greatly of late, and with the recent worm hit, I felt troubled about not getting to any of your other works. But so far - other than the arm positioning, I think this image is coming along fine. Those worms are rather creepy - something that I keep expecting Harlequin to do frankly... something grotesque and frightening... but I don't think that is in her at the moment ;3. Keep up the good work, I will comment more fully once this is finished.

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 4:43 AM

I reallylike the profile and the eye! =3
the worms are scarY!

Lady_Sea @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 6:06 PM
I really love her ocean blue eyes! Seriously that is my favorite color of blue ^_^. The worm has an interesting design. It's very long and scarey, which of course adds to the emotion of the picture. She better run faster or it will get her! *steals her hat XD* I won't give any crit. because everything already been stated.
Good job!

Rasen @ Friday, December 24th 2004, 9:20 PM
Wow, the worms are something here. Very well done, if scary.^^; Yeah, I think your forehead is too far forward, otherwise it'd be great.

I like the desert atmosphere and the slight tenseness of the girl, as well as the way some of the strands of her hair ar blowing in the wind. ^_^

Basil @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 9:13 PM
I actually really like the profile...! At first I thought she was holding a charm card, but now I see that it's a picture! X3 I love the hairy worms. They looks so gross, which I would say is a pretty accurate description of the evil worm that ate Drowkaki! Nicely done! Bravo!

kyokurrychan @ Sunday, January 30th 2005, 6:38 AM

Prismatic @ Friday, February 4th 2005, 4:37 AM
I don't think the profile in this picture is really awkward at all. I'm really liking it actually.
You put sooo much detail into this picture. I love it. Down to the stuffles on the worms and their huge scarey mouths and teeth.
I love their eye the most. So much color and depth, it's really really great.
I feel bad with the not being able to save pictures.. but just think of all the new ones we get to do now~

Anyway, just because the board was wiped out doesn't mean the Secret Santa is off. This is my contribution - it's Takku, dressed up as a lovely Christmas angel for everyone's favorite Ren-Tsuna. (:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of my Drowkakians! <33

Rigga Mortis @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 1:29 AM
Ohhh lucky Ren. Lucky lucky Ren. Mishi, this is so awesome! The pose and hair and the colouring on the shirt...gah! I love it. :3 The holly is such a cute touch. That particuler shade of green just keeps catching my eye, your usual dapply-colouring really brings it out. Just lovely, Mishi. You're such a superstar.

AnimeCanuck @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 2:09 AM
Totally cute! The detail of the holly looks really nice.

freakymary @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 2:14 AM
awww so cute ^_^ i love how you draw people mishi, the wreath around his head is really cute. though i see a scare on his face :( poor thing. the sparkly green background goes good with this, helps the charecter stand out :)

YourNuubGod @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 2:32 AM
Yey! HAppy to see you got back. ^^ I missed yer art, that I did. -snickers- This sorta has a saintpatricky look cuz of all the green.

His scar and wings are very cool.

Lady_Sea @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 3:10 AM
Wow, I'm sure Renhead will really like this! ^_^. Those wings are kawaii and the floaty orby things are fun to look at. The holly crown is really nifty and adds nicely to the Christmas theme. The character doesn't seem to be enjoying the season too much tho >.O, must be those spikey leaves on his head. XD.
Lovely job!

celestial crou @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 3:53 AM
WOW. I LOVE the glesture and the face/ hair on this one. The face and its expression are just...wonderful. YOu did an excelent job with the line art. I think the detail is lost with the limbs and fingers though. The hand is a little big and akward. And there are more curves to the arms then you have here. But all in all its great. The BG is cool with its flying orbs.

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 4:16 AM
Cool! I love the green and gold combination, makes me inspired to do a Christmas angel of my very own. He looks a little sad, or maybe very forgetful. Maybe he forgot to buy a Christmas present for his mom? Heh. His wings are cute, they look a bit like cardboard type cutouts, their simplicity is adorable. I love his hair, it's very uneven and feathery, like real hair would lay. I also like the uneven dots of shading on his shirt, it adds texture. My favorite part by far is the holly wreath, it's so detailed and lovely! His scar bothers me a little, though. The simplicity of the rest of the image is reall contrasting with the detail on the face, and the black lines, which work for everything else, detract from the overall image on that scar. That's all I have to say... beautiful work, merry Christmas!

Loki @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 4:37 AM
Wahh Mishi! Adorable! That reminds me, I still have to draw *insert name here*'s Secret Santa gift. XD This is really cute, I love the holly in his hair, and his "Oh no!" expression is adorable! I love you. lol

Woo Mishi! This pic's got some sort of "why ME of all people" feeling to it! It's very adorable, and really, Merry Christmas to you too. ^_^ Adorable angel. *takes the holly wreath off his head and puts it on her own* BWAHA. ;3

Beautiful lineart so far, keep it up! I love the frills on her skirt and the bow at her back, and the calm expression is just right for a performer. Pose is lovely, impressive use of lace at the edges of her gloves/armwarmers. The overabundance of hearts makes me think of either Barbie or the head of the Val'Ley'Girl clan from that hideous Daydream archive... heheh. Not that it's all that hideous, of course, but PINK... *shudder*. Anyway, keep going! Wanna see! Looks great so far!

YEA!!!!!!!!! its done! Pretty in pink indeed. I like the bg and its cloudy glory. And the letters bring on a comic effect. But the white part inbetween the lines is a bit too messy for my taste. The skin has been lightly shaded and highlighted and the dress is wonderful and very imaginitive. The pic almost seems to be a second forever placed in a frame. cause i know i wouldnt be able to hold that position very long......

Jennifer @ Sunday, December 26th 2004, 8:23 PM

HuntressD @ Wednesday, December 22nd 2004, 5:43 AM
This is a lovely picture. If I may suggest, next time, you should use a larger brush to color, it would smooth the "sketchy" part of the colors. :)

christabel @ Wednesday, December 22nd 2004, 7:01 AM

I'm totally diggin' his lips-- they really add to zer awesomely determined expression he's sportin'. I also veddy much enjoy his collarbone area-- it's quite defined. *nodnod* muy good stuffs.

celestial crou @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 4:13 AM
The figure is nice. But its all monotone. Nothing jumps out or is defined. The cape is what l like best. its got the folds and general figure a cape has.

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 23rd 2004, 6:02 AM
Hmm... tablets are hard. I could never get mine to work for me, ever. At all. Eventually I gave up and went back to mouse, gives me more control but makes smooth lines virtually impossible to achieve. Is that blush, or glasses? Can't quite tell... it almost looks like a Harry-Potter type character. So I like the character design and concept, I think a little more details and brighter colors would really make this stand out. The sketchiness could work for you if you hone it a little bit, play with it some, do some shading, something to give it that extra edge. Good luck with that! Overall I think it's a good picture, well proportioned and with good composition and expression. Keep it up!

Basil @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 8:12 PM

ah...tablet pens...isn't it always the way. Anyway, I think this looks really good right now! The anatomy looks good (well, to me at least...) and I really like the arm closest to the viewer. Just one thing - maybe you could make the profile more...human-ey? I don't know if it's supposed to be more muzzle-like, as you said it's a dragon person, right? But if it's a human, it sort of goes in under the nose, then out again for the lips...and I'm being very vague as I'm tired. -_-. But, uhm, yes. I hope you find your tablet pen!

He's not a bright person, and so Honey is highly neglected. See her little hind foot sticking out? Her leg's broken from being hit by a car, and she never received medical attention =(
I'm also the one who's been her main food supply for over a year and nobody knows that but me, so shh.
I'm going to get her from him. She will be mine. She will be loved.

I love the facr O_O The coloring on it, its great!
The hands too, like everyone says, are so detailed, and the shrt-coloring is awesome. Seriously, this is a great piece. The wings though slightly messy, arent so bad. If they were a bit more like feathery, Itd be awesome-er. Lol

I really hope youre goping to be okay ;___; Its so depressing to have a member go through a bad time.

Take care.

Tigerhawk @ Tuesday, January 25th 2005, 5:30 AM
Ah, I know how exactly how s/he feels.

The line art I see came out very clean (something I'll never be able to achieve). i do believe that the lines for the hair came out very nicely. i do agree, the wings do look like a last minute job but they give me a feel of childness from this character. I'd love to explain, but I doubt people like reading what I write (I go on and on). Maybe laters. But I would like to point out that some children have a sense of insecurity and that's what those wings give me a feeling of. insecurity.
The coloring is da bomb my friend. It's just too cool. the seperation of words for "alone" is a great way to use....what do you call those thingies........I'll get back to you on that.

She's one of my favorite characters I've created for a RP - she's from a pirate RP Windy and I are doing. Nera is awesome, she's a no-nonsense, sexy gypsy alien. Ahem. Like everyone else, the hair is fabulous ^o^ In my opinion, it looks especially good with that outfit. Is it like, a classical pirate-wench thingummy? Lol.....

Beautiful coloring on her and her clothing. I love that knife's coloring especially. And, gasp!, its the return of the ribbon-stremer background >3

~Kitti-chan <----- also likes pointy objects.

Shakaku @ Monday, January 24th 2005, 9:03 PM
Aw, she looks like a very loveable character, and yet still mischievious (sorry bad spelling), the use of almost all green tones is awesome .

Crest @ Monday, January 24th 2005, 11:45 PM
Neat clothing design and love how her hair is shaped. The color choices are nicely chosen with the golden areas standing out well. I like her expression and the texture on the skirt. Neat. :D

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 25th 2005, 5:57 AM
The delicate and subtle shading is nice. I love her shiny knife and her plain black hair. The absence of highlights in it is neat.
She has such a cute expression =D

Chinh @ Friday, January 28th 2005, 6:23 PM
she has got such a happy face....plus....with that lil heart there makes her look very pretty....the knife scares me though...=S she's gonna cook right? nice pose, and luv her outfit ^__^

Basil @ Sunday, January 30th 2005, 2:00 AM

Mwahaha... dramatic lighting.
Merry Christmas Kaiera, from your secret santa windy! ^^ 'tis Odjin... I hope he's recognizable. I think he's up to no good...

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 1:11 AM
ooh, cool... I love the secretive, shadowy lighting and the almost luminescent white fur on the cape... I also love the little frost things on the (window?) and that look... *shudders* I agree, he's up to no good. SCARY! But awesome pic...

Kari Maxwell @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 1:29 AM
Hehe, he looks evil. I love it though. lol especially the wisps around the opening that he's jumping through. It's awesome. Hope Kaiera likes it. ^^ Loverly shading as always. ^^

Kage Kitsune @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 1:48 AM
I'm loving that cape windy! and the frost is pretty cool too. He's reminding me of the grinch, only much sexier XD I like those green pants ^_^

Kaiera @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 2:02 AM
Oh my goodness!! *_* It's phenominal! Thank you so much!!! I love it! I could easily recognize him. Mainly because you captured the "evil" persona so well :D Again, thank you and Merry Christmas/ belated Happy Birthday =D -huggleofdeath- ^___^ this just made my day!!

olsie @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 5:17 AM
That's a great depiction of her character XD it's so awesome in the spirit and evilness to boot; makes me wish I couldve entered that ScSa thing o_o

relzilla @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 6:01 AM
Wow. This came out really nice. I like the colors you used. The perspective is awesome -- the lighting just makes it look cooler. XD Great texturing, as well. *Pets the cloak.* XB The only thing I'd really change is the sky. It looks a little.. I dunno. Bare. Maybe add a few clouds. The stars also look a little rushed. Other than that, it's really great. ^^

ChronosKit @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:42 AM
Mwuahahaha! *grabs socked feet* So cool!

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 8:51 AM
Awesome perspective. For some reason the legs really stick out to me. It seems like they're the most difficult part to draw when doing an image with such an angle, but you've done them masterfully. The folds in all the bits of clothing are really good too - again, I noticed the legs first, particularly around the knees, but the cape as well, especially how the fuzzy bit's been shaded.
I'd be a little afraid if that came down my chimney though.

Rigga Mortis @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:16 PM
Windyyy. Your watercolours are so awesome. The folding and shading on that cape is so wonderful and I like studying it. :D Same with those...frost-curls (?) around his feet. That is a very interesnt and awkward-looking perspective to draw from, but I think you pulled it off perfectly. His eyes and expression are creepy, fitting really well with this image, and I like how his hand is supporting the bag. :D Really well-done, Windy.

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:31 PM
windy as allways this is beautiful i love the little feet printy things hehe and the angle is just awsome, i love ur coloring and lineart so much! *snug hug*

Ghislain WildCat @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 8:01 AM
So dark and evil looking! XD
Oh! And I can't help but notice all the cool effects you did with the window like those frosty twirls and the shape of the feet being pressed against it. ^w^

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:56 PM
man, Windy, this is one of your best ^^ i bet kaiera will love this ^^ and your shadeing in this is sweet

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 4:39 PM
What's he doing in the cold wearing only socks?

Great angle, and use of dramatic lighting & shading. Brilliant as usual! ^^

(And he's just sooooooo eeeeeevil!!!)

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:42 PM
This is another one that has a totally awesome animation. It's a unique and tough angle. Good job

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 7:24 AM
Sweet! IThis definatly sets a different mood to the norm of christmas. Kinda like futurama and the santa-bot. Lol. then again i have this nightmare before christmas tune stuck in my mind. I like the diffferent perspective. But i would have liked to have seen a more toned sky.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:23 AM
Can I just say...I love the perspective on this one? The whole bottom of the feet up is just...SO COOL!! Now...I'm assuming he's standing on the equivalent of a skylight, and what has otherwise been called 'fur' is really the frost on said skylight. The reds in the cape are really nice, they really show a nice folding of the fabric where it's gathered around the neck. The white edging...well...the blue used on it certainly makes it look textured. Very interesting look. I really like it...just like I like those green pants. Seriously...I want a pair of pants in THAT color green now. In addition to being a gorgeous pair of pants...the shading does that textured thing. I really like how you do that, it just makes the clothing on the characters seem more real. Same thing with the shirt, more of that nifty texturing. Awesome contribution to the secret santa project Windy. It's very nice! It makes me smile like a not so sad panda! XD!!

kyokurrychan @ Sunday, January 30th 2005, 5:02 PM
ebil? ^^ i likes it a lot. hehe. awesome perspective. and the feetsies are dont well against the glass <3

Interesting approach... I've never seen anyone make their base sketch in that large a brush before... whatever it is, it works. Great start, keep it up!

Starisan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 2:46 PM
I like the gesture feel to it right now. I look forward to when you add more. I think you did a good job with the perspective:)

ChronosKit @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 11:14 PM
I love how that dagger is coming out, his wings, and his hair and eyes. This is going to be lovely when you finish it. BTW Nice job on the hand...I wish I could draw a half decent hand lol.

I like how you coloured the hair. The headshape seems a bit off (not sure why) and the blade of the knife seems too flat. Try adding some reflection or something to it next time.

Sephie Strife @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 12:43 AM
Omg, the way you colored the hair is simply awesome! X3 Finish it!! >w<

Starisan @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 4:55 PM
