Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

Beautiful flow of the hair. The bright green you used for the dragonflies gives it sort of a dreamlike feel with the smokey background.

i think this pic is the nicest elf pic i've seen here so far. lol, love the hair, so evil and glossy. hehehe :D

Very cute image, I like her soft hair quite a bit. :] I like the little bugs flying around, they're really adorable.

Segzhan @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 4:54 PM

Pretty lights and magic effects. You rendered the luminosity pretty well. And the hair is beautiful. Pretty piece of art you got here. =)

Little Elf @ Tuesday, February 22nd 2005, 7:33 PM
This is very pretty. Her hair looks great with the littel details with the lighting and stuff. The little fire/dragonflies?? are nice with their greeness. The little trails they leave are pretty. If you were going for the blurry effect, I think you should've used the watercolor tool for her eyes. They kinda stand out. I like your signature at the bottom! I's all prettyful... XD Nice job.

darkrose @ Saturday, February 26th 2005, 10:37 PM
I always love how soft your shading is, even when things get a little wonky in the lineart and anatomy areas your pictures are ALWAYS pleasant to look at just because of how well they flow. The hair is gorgeous, I love how it spills out over her arms and the ground, and the little glowy magic bits are very cool indeed. Her expression is soft and amused, which fits perfectly, and the background is just the right texture and color to really bring it all together. Wonderful job.

Ikena @ Sunday, February 27th 2005, 5:51 PM

catboi incubus mishi @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 1:31 AM
First of all, welcome to the board! Very interesting character, but what first struck me was how the background clashed with her - I don't like the use of orange for the background, it doesn't look good with her red hair. Perhaps it could have worked better with a red, and a darker shade of grey. Now for the figure - Angelus, yes? Anyway, I have to say, her cloak, outfit, and the stone she's kneeling on all melt together too much. I would have suggested slightly different shades for at least the rock, perhaps a lighter grey, or even with a brownish tinge. Now for her face, it has a masculine feel to it, I think because it's so oval-like. I probably wouldn't have known she was a woman had you not said it in the description, and I really had to look close for her breasts. (Wow, that sounds perverted~) Her .. artificial eye, I'm assuming, is quite interesting, I like the black marks running down her cheek. I especially like the shading on her gloves, it really suggests a shiny leather, although that component is missing from the rest of her outfit. That's a mighty difficult pose you did, and you pulled it off quite well. I think her feet look bit, and lack the detail the rest of her clothes have. As for her cloak, like I said earlier, it melts in with the rest of her outfit, and doesn't stand out much. I like how you gave it highlights near the top, you probably could have given it more on the lower part of her cloak, as well. Finally, her hair. I really like how it's flowing in the way that it is, although I would have opted for a light light shade of red, a pink as a substitute for the white highlights. They seem too harsh to me.
But. This is a very very good first submission, and I really look forward to more of your work. (:

Angelcide @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 4:05 AM
thanks very much =D
I was trying to get her to look like she was blending with the shadows...ANy advice on how to achieve that look properly??

darkrose @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 7:40 PM
I have to say this is really excellent. The crouching pose is beautifully done, the shading is fantastic, her hair is pretty and swirly. She looks like an assassin <{^.^}> So welcome to the board! It's lovely, fantasy themed, well drawn, over the time limit, and generally wonderful. Congrats! Not many new people get a grasp of the rules on their first try.

Prismatic @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 8:58 PM
Hmm. I think this is really well done, especially for your first submission!~
Welcome to the board~
Her pose is excellent, as has been said before. You even got the hands correct. something I'm horrible with. Let's see.. Her outfit is really nifty. And as has been stated the shine on her arm thins is really well done, making it my favorite part of her outfit.
Now.. for blending into the shadows this definatly wasn't a bad start~ I think adding more shading of dark as it gets farther away from the light would of helped with the depth of the shadows. So.. you could sort of start with the grey that's on her pants and end in an almost blacky charcoal color in the left corner of her cloak and shadows. Wow, hope that made sense.
The only thing that seems off to me is the highlighting of her hair. Her hair is really pretty, and the swirly parts of it are groovy... but in the shadows there probably wouldn't be highlights. At least not all the way down where the rest of her is in the shadows. I could be wrong though.
I like the background. It looks almost as though she's hiding in the shadows of a fence or something, with light shining through.

catboi incubus mishi @ Friday, February 18th 2005, 9:21 AM
Well, my suggestion would be to have quite a bit less orange and more grey/black - or at least, like I said earlier, substitute red for the orange. I think the background probably isn't suited for a 'disappearing into the shadows' deal, it reminds me more of a room with holes in the ceiling, and light is pouring through. Which, actually, is really cool. XD Maybe nest time you draw her, you could have her in a dark alleyway, or in the midst of trees. Make her more shadow than substance. :)

I think this is done now? Hehe! I love it. It's so cute! ~~ Their expressions are great!
The way you shaded it with pixels and solids gives it a sort of whimsical feel. Very good for spring time. And, everything seems to have a movement to it. Especially the trees.

Karasu @ Monday, February 21st 2005, 1:38 AM
I cant be too sure whats going on here, but I can critique the technique you used in the picture! I think the bushes were done FANTASTIC! first off. And secondly, I think that you did a really good job on the yellow parts on the boy there....(the clothes), but I think that they could use a lttle more shadow here and htere (once again saying the bushes and trees are fantastic) but i do adore the little 4 leaf clover action. : )

I love it! Nice to see your work, Ghis.

windblade @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 3:49 AM
woah. You really made a big effort for the shading and the highlights! All the folds in Loki's robe are AMAZING! That fireball looks pretty cool too! (Is it me, or is the side of his hat catching fire? =p wouldn't surprise me, it'd be Loki's style!)

Thanks a lot, Ghis!

Ghislain WildCat @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 1:44 PM
*to windy* Well, It's more like the fireball reflecting on the hat than anything... but seeing it your way, it's true that this little lighting effect could be turned into his hat starting to catch fire. XD

Bad windy! You managed to turn one of my rare serious pics into a humorous one! XD

darkrose @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 5:31 PM
ooh, is fantastic! Beautiful job with the folds in the cloth, and details like stiching are important! Everything looks really great especially lineart wise. My only comment would be a lack of contrast between shaded and lit areas... fire has a nasty habit of throwing darker than normal shadows and bright orange/yellow highlights... you've got the highlights down pat, all that's missing are the black spots. Still, it's excellent work, and it's good to see your art again. <{^ ^}>

Prismatic @ Thursday, February 17th 2005, 9:04 PM
Very nice pose. I am especially fond of the clothing and hat. Ths shading and highlights are magnificant. And the details to it are wonderful.. such as the stitching.

wow, the first think that caught my eye about this picture is the wonderful and intricated coloring/lighting/shading on the skirt! I think it was dont just -perfectly-, however i think that the shading on the face could use a little more contrast, as well as the wand (the wand jewel seems to stand out too much and the stick part of it doesnt seem to stand out at all) I can see you put a lot of effort into the clothing so I give you that credit!

OH my gosh, this is so beautiful for having almost no black line art here. Not that it's a requirement for beauty, but it shows a skill that few can perfect...and I think you're pretty darned close to perfection here. I love how you captured the motion, honestly, I think it's just fabulous. I think that the hand (and I know its really hard to do that perspective for a hand) needs a LITTLE work, it seems a little out of proportion for the perspective. But. You know. Happy V-Day, everyone! Here's to every person who's going to spend the day of lovey-dovey cuddling sickness locked in their rooms with computers, video games, and single serving pizzas. Cheers!

This is Melia, she's a Djernak which is a creature of my own devising. Basically they're low elves as upposed to high elves, they are shorter and stockier than high elves, with longer ears (ususally with fur although in some circles it is expected for that to be removed) and long tails tipped with fur like a lion's. The fuzzy thing beside her is Simalea, her familiar. All Djernak are born with a nickling (that creature's kind) familiar that they live with until death. They resemble a fox, but not as long or as lanky, they have longer fur, larger eyes, a shorter snout, smaller paws, and two antannae that glow according to mood and lighting. Also they have a pair of small and cute (but funcional) pink wings on their backs.

Melia was taken from her home as a smaller child and brought as a slave to one of the elfin cities, where a rich and somewhat perverted old elf bought her and took her to his private castle to be raised in his harem. She is the favorite, and all her needs are taken care of and so she has no reason to run away. She still misses her brother on occasion, though, as in his picture.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The anatomy on this is very well done. Am particularly fond of her hand and the proportions of her face. All the details in her jewelery and clothing is wonderful! It's such a cute outfit, and as has been stated before I like how you used watercolor for the sheerness of her clothing.
Her lil friend thingy is so cute. It's eye is wonderful~ I wish I could see its wings. I love pink wings. -drool- It looks like it's trying to comfort her as she's thinking of her brother.

First of all -- that costume really caught my eye. Eeeeeexcellent. I like the dangly beads and the heart design around the rim of the lingerie. A very detailed costume, for a very rich girl X3.

And good job with the implied city in the background. Just enough detail to specify what it is, but not enough to make it stand out overly much.

Nice lighting too. I don't know if it's the most effective as it is or not. Ah, well.

Beautiful, Windy. Your Dhell works always stand out so much, and this one is no exception. I love his pose, it's so sad, he looks like he's trying in a futile manner to crawl away from danger. I love the glow of white then blue around him, it's lovely. His blue blood always intrigued me, and you illustrate it so well. I think, if he were to have red blood, it wouldn't look as beautifully tragic. I love his wings, they're so beautiful and blood-splattered. His antennae are fuzzy and soft looking, they're actually kind of cute. x3; I like how we can't see his face, it really brings out a larger sense of pity for him. Poor pretty Dhell. *hugs him*

i don't want to sound crule or anything or sound like I'm doing this cause I don't like you (don't get any thoughts in your head cause I don't) but you're always asking to be a better artist. iIn my point of view the neck seems a little to long, and the face. I'm not to sure why it's bugging me but I think its to oval. Can't really say. It could be the hair that makes it seem that way though. I can't really say what you were intending to do so I won't say it's wrong or anything. Because I believe you can do no wrong in art. Many artists would disagree with me but, eh, I don't care what they think.
Over all I believe it is a really good picture.

Very nice lady. I think I like this design best for his wings. Not sure about the entenas, thier more moth like then butterfly and yet that sort of suits him. What I like best is the colors and the sense of light like his wings are almost glowing dispite or threw the blood.

Only thing that bothered me was his head shape till my eyes focused properly and I realized that was his ear. Then it looked fine. Sorry, I see things oddly sometimes.

windblade @ Monday, February 14th 2005, 1:51 PM

Queen_Godzilla @ Saturday, March 5th 2005, 1:38 AM
Man, I haven't commented on this yet? I really DO need to catch up!

I'd have to agree with Jenny TBN on the antennae -- they are more moth than butterfly and kind of distracting on Dhell there. I'd like it better with little or no antennae. But that's me.

It is angsty, though, so that's very Dhell. Good job on that *LOLz*

lol... you know what I'm doing this Valentine's day? I'm going to school in a black hooded cloak with a plastic bow and arrow set with fake blood on the rubber tips.. and I'm going to shoot anyone that looks lovey-dovey. It shall be excellent. Of course then I'll be locking myself in my dorm room with just me, my video games, and a heart-shaped pepperoni pizza from Boston's. *sniff*. Still, this is really cute, and the chibiness of it with the sword and the magicy goodness makes me giggle. Rock on.

I love the strange way you color eyes, it gives them a more intense look. May I suggest shading fluff with a bigger, softer watercolor brush? it'll look less scribbly and more fluffy this way.

Yay! See, I can do one-shot pics!! This time, I cleaned the lineart and colored all by myself, like a big girl! ^.^

Well, this is my Runescape character, Tilke. This is something that happened to me, and I tought it would be funny to draw it. It is the remake of a doodle I have made in my geography book. Never toight it would be that long to do on the comp... @__@

I am level 43. I have kickass equipment. Full addy and rune helmet and scemetar. But my woodcutting, archery and fishing skills sucks. So I went to Port Sarim, The best fishing place ever. I was surrounded by noobs, who were praising my high level and asking me money. I laughed at them, sitted and started fishing.

...5 minutes after, I had nothing. Now, noobs were laughing at me. That day, I told myself I would never fish in public again until I reach a high level. -_-

Well, this is it. Enjoy!

darkrose @ Sunday, February 13th 2005, 12:29 AM
heh, silly. Very cute chibi style... the colors are a little dark, which makes the lineart seem too thick, or vice versa. I still really like the texture on her pants, and the expression is really cute.

AphoticFlames @ Monday, July 18th 2005, 3:38 PM
Hah, I did that when my fishing level was low. Lol my archery is still low but my fishings better. The best spot to fish is in Catherby, but you have to be a member to go there and I don't know if you are or not. But yeah training low levels when your combat is pretty high is embarrassing, like I said my archery is still really low (33 OO;) and my combat is 63. -_-;

ouch... that really really sucks. Although sometimes, if you hit the back button and say 'yes' to the 'restore last data' or something button then it'll come back. Works sometimes... still, that sucks.

Anywho... this is amazing. Wonderfully proportioned, fantastically designed, the details here are just amazing. I particularlyu like her hair and the crystals set into her staff.

Cai @ Saturday, February 12th 2005, 3:41 AM
I agree about the crystals on her staff. They stand out because of their color, as well as just how solid they are. The solidarity of the earring cuff type of thing helps it stand out, as well. Personally, I like it. :3 You probably should have softened the feathers on her armor, a bit - unless they're metal, of course. In which case, disregard what I just said. XD

Segzhan @ Saturday, February 12th 2005, 10:42 PM

Verna_Venisa @ Sunday, February 13th 2005, 4:52 PM
This is so pretty, i like how you did her profile, and the detail on her earring is nice. Her hand, however, looks a little small compared to the rest of her body and is at an odd angle with how her arm/shoulder is faced. I like her outfit thought and the lighting at the top right corner is pretty ^^

Queen_Godzilla @ Saturday, March 5th 2005, 1:23 AM
Looks like a night elf from WoW. Heh, maybe it is; I didn't check the title.

I like how this is lineless. It works for the picture and you managed to pull it off (a lot of kids make it too fuzzy or weird and it looks awful.)

You have little anatomy problems here or there, but nothing really bad. Her neck is a little too thick at the top and her chest might be a bit high. That's about all I can see.

Nice armor, though. I love the crystalline design. Functional, while looking tres chic.

The staff seems awkwardly placed, but I can't think of WHY. It just gives me that artist's vibe.

Good that you stuck with a lightsource!

And she has a demon name like Akasha Slashvixen (given to her by her mother of course) and so she wants to go by a normal human name like Mildred or Jenny. *Snrk!*

Haha, nice expression. She looks very bored, but also wry. The colors are everywhere in this picture, which is your style and why I like it. Just gives it more of a traditional medium's feel. Heh. And the added piece o' hay. Awesome.

That is... disturbingly cute. her expression is fantastic, and the little red snap barettes are a wonderful touch. Her hair is just the right consistancy, which is awesome, and the horns add just a touch of the not-normal that really sets it all off. The colors are warm and soft with just the right amount of contrast. Great job.

catboi incubus mishi @ Tuesday, February 8th 2005, 2:56 PM

Totenmaske @ Wednesday, February 9th 2005, 5:37 AM
Karasu, I always look forward to your images, as some have said ? your images are always fun to look at. Certainly the colouring is more slap dash in some regards (only in the sense of some loose colour bleed here and there) but that really fits your style and the details always win out in your images to make the comment about ?slap dash? colouring mute. I like the overall look of the colouring though in all your images, it always seems to express a sense of motion or character. The effect overall is more like painting really the more I think about it. But I digress, what I think is really nice is the slight impression of a blur effect which smoothes everything out in a rather unique way that is altogether rather pleasing to the eye.

The main feature of this image that really catches the eye of the viewer, in my opinion, is her wonderful expression ? to me it isn?t one of boredom though, that has been said in a previous comment ? but one of disdain or flippant rebellion to authority. As in she seems to be more adolescent in her expression ? which I particularly love. Especially in the way you brought up her eyes just so, and the little well thistle in her mouth. The horns and frankly the shading overall in the image is very exceptional ? it creates such a strange but pleasing lighting effect all over. The way you did the rather overly pink nose and cheek and chin colouring is interesting. Overall even though this is one of our smaller pieces I think it has all the wonderful details that really mark all your pieces.

The little hair berets (boy I hope I?m saying that properly) are such a nice touch ? also creating this sense that she is a rebellious youth. I really like the way you curve the horns to frame the face ? the only issue I have though is the odd green colouring at the top of the upper left corner, though I believe this is showing that the hair is just ruffled around the base. Overall this is an exceptional piece and I do hope to see more Karasu! Keep up the wonderful work.

Prismatic @ Thursday, February 10th 2005, 9:58 AM
Oh~ This is so pretty. Your works always are. So nice and soft and watery. And thier noses are always pink! I love that.

Great on the coloring, I could believe that it is her real face...If you think of it in terms of dawn being young and new, rebirth and night being the final stage of a day. I like the stars in her hair, my only comment would be that the day looks a little too bright to be heading into evening.

Karasu @ Tuesday, February 8th 2005, 12:41 AM
wow! How creative! I really love this, a lot! Since i live in new mexico, I should say that this is very southwestern themed. : ) you did a good job here on the shadng, but I think the eyes could have used a little more depth....the sunset is just gorgeous though! and I love the stars in the hair : )

Cai @ Tuesday, February 8th 2005, 11:11 PM
The metallic look of the mask/face is very very nice, though the shift from blue to gray to blue (forehead/upper face to lower face to chin) is a bit awkward. The night sky in her hair looks beautiful, though.

Her eyes also seem a bit unfocused for some reason. But overall, I'm impressed - I couldn't do something with watercolors like this. ^.^

Totenmaske @ Friday, February 11th 2005, 5:20 AM
Just to let you know darkrose, I?ve archived this image last night simply because I was really impressed with the overall look of this ? sorry about not getting to commenting in a timely fashion though. That being said I must say the reason I really like this image, is the fact that she reminds me of the ?Robot? in Fritz Lang?s Metropolis. There was a comment I thought, that said something about the way the transition of the faces blue seemed a little off ? but I don?t see it now for some reason, but I have to agree that there seems to be that kind of effect ? plus the eye seems a little out of proportion on the ?dawn/sunset? side of the canvas which gives it a rather wonky look mainly due to that eye. But still that does not mean that this image is anything other than exceptional.

That being said, I really like the overall look of the skyline, especially the nice cloud work is rather realistic with the way you have eased the overall look? not concentrating on fluffy clouds you seem to go with the more subtle indication of wispy work, which in my eye seems more realistic. The little sunlight rays are nice, as well. Frankly the image itself is impressive in this area more than anything else.

I also like the fact of the stars in her hair, truly come across as the coming of night. Everything seems to work wonderfully, except for the wonky aspect the eyes bring to the table not to mention that the more I look at it, the red lips seem to be a little too much colour for the scene ? taking away somewhat of the feel overall on canvas. But this I personally think is just my preference ? if you did the lips and eyes as you did the face (with that skin effect) I think the actual sense of transposing the two elements of night and day could have been brought further into the end product. But overall this is a fantastic image darkrose, hope to see more of the same attention to detail of the skyline as well as the face in general in your future images!

Prismatic @ Friday, February 11th 2005, 9:16 PM
This is a really beautiful piece of art. I'm loving it. Your use of color is so marvelous.
I really like the way it seems she's rolling in the night as the sun sets. Sort of reminds me of when Apollo rides his chariot to make the sun rise~ The stars in her hair are really pretty. She really does seem to be partially made up of the night sky.
The highlights and shading in her face are so good. There's so much depth there, she really does seem to be three dimensional. The softness of teh background is wonderful as well! I particualry like the rays of light coming from the sun.~~

It's your hands that really stand out to me, though... they're just amazing. The hands and the anatomy of her back, both. My only comment would be something about the back arm, how it folds. Queen_Godzilla @ Saturday, March 5th 2005, 1:10 AM
I tried to check, but I couldn't find anything, so... I'll just go with what I can assume here. I am currently assuming that Verre is a girl. (I know that Sakmet is. Holy jibblies, maybe Verre IS a guy? I dunno!)

Well, if Verre was/is a girl you SHOULD be able to see part of her breast between her chin and her shoulder there. It's because gravity and her posture would cause breasts to fall forward. Now, I know you don't want to make it outright porn, but... eh.

And if it's not a girl, then... just keep that tidbit for future reference XD

Other than that... DAMN. XD You're putting a lot of work into the hair and the floor. Good job! I really, really love the hair -- it's my favorite color and it's really shiny too.

Watching the animation I have to admit I really love the little details that you put in the rough sketch of her ? I think some of the details though have been a little lost with the thick line art ? especially the Cthulhu little shoulder embroidery which seems to have lost its tentacles. Now I know this isn?t finished so I?ll withhold any further comment, but I have to say I really like the background you have going ? the wonderful softness and the way you rendered the stars is very pleasing indeed. Keep up the good work!

First of all, I just loooove the lighting effect here, they're so pretty and swirly. <333 I like her boots, they're quite cute - but oh my, is that her butt? O: Her lower legs look a little disconnected from her upper legs. ;\ I like her little dress, but like Toten was saying, the thick lineart sort of takes away from the magical feel. O: But my favorite favorite part, moreso than the swirlies, is her STAFF. O: It's so pretty and I just love it. The light coming off of it is very pretty and yay. Good job, keep up the good work! :D

I like the staff. You put a lot of detail in it. so it just beggs for complements. The pose the the girl is nice and anotomically correct. But it lacks the attention to detail that the staff got. The eyes seem a little off. One higher then the other. The hair is pretty too! The wavy layered look complemented with the varying colors of shade / highlight.. Very nice. The BG really brings out the hair and glove. Nice job wot the orb too. SHINY!

wow... yup, yay details! I love the staff, and the shoes are awesome. Her shoulders seem a little bit off, like they're not quite attatched to her body, but other than that the anatomy looks very sound. Her expression is very nice, very calm, and the background is mystical but also muted in color adding to the quiet feel. I really likes it!

Kari Maxwell @ Saturday, February 5th 2005, 12:23 AM
I like the staff most. The only thing that looks odd to me is her shoulders. They seem a little too high and too rounded. Perhaps lowering the one that is not holding the staff would help. It may be the absense of seeing her neck that does it. I don't know. -shrugs- Nice colours. Love the flowing blues and blacks in the background.

olsie @ Saturday, February 5th 2005, 4:01 AM
The hair and the stuaff would be my two favorite things about this picture :o
The cold feeling of the sky and the magic brings in some extra mood; and so does the shine at the end of the staff! It's awesome! Her costume rocks btw :D
The only crit I would have to give is that the ears could be slightly lower. :) They are too high where they are currently. She also has one too many fingers :o

Starisan @ Monday, February 7th 2005, 3:19 PM
AWWW, this is sweet, I think the background rocks the world, I also love the glow of the staff, my only question would be is she wearing a turtle neck? Other then that I love this, cute face.

Karasu @ Tuesday, February 8th 2005, 12:43 AM
Oh, the mist here in the picture is just breathtaking, as wel as the color/shading you chose to do....but, I feel the face could use a little bit more definition...the part of the face by the ear on our right. Other than that, I think this is really well done, but my opinion here doesnt mean much lol

Prismatic @ Tuesday, February 8th 2005, 8:48 AM

Hes one sexy drow yes?

Wa ha! He's done! I finnished quickly this time so YEA!

This is my character Dante. Right now he's a pirate. He wears a white bandana and white pirate pants. Perhaps in the next pic you shall see the whole costume. He has only one crew member. And a poorly made boat. i dont know who that other crew member will be. Perhaps a new character ? or an old.

He's really pretty. I love the eyes. Can't wait to see it finished.^_^

Prismatic @ Friday, February 4th 2005, 9:30 AM
Wow, he is really pretty.
I love the subtle change of tone in his skin. And the little shiney on his lip~ His eyes in particular are really well done. The dark lines about them really make them stand out.
The colors in the sky are beautiful. It really seems to be a bright afternoon or some such. Makes joining him even more appealing~

catboi incubus mishi @ Friday, February 4th 2005, 2:28 PM
I really really like his hair, it's so pretty and the blue is just lovely. <3 I think you could have shaded the white with some light grey, but that's just me. Oh wait, no, it's a bandana, right? Then you should have done some distinction between the two - perhaps make the bandana a light grey, because afterall, white doesn't stay pure on the sea for too long. x3; I think you could have blended the colors in his skin a little more, they look a bit blotchy right now. My absolute favorite part of this are his eyes, they're so piercing and a pretty color of olive. <3

olsie @ Friday, February 4th 2005, 10:13 PM
Cute; The only thing that i would personally change is his lips...lol they look too girly xD
I seriously like how you complete eyes and duo colored hair; blends really nicely!

Heheh, cute. Me likies, very muchly. Pretty hair, sexy look, lovely addition of sky and wooden mast. Is totally spiffy.

Kari Maxwell @ Saturday, February 5th 2005, 12:24 AM
He's cute. I like how you did his hair. I'm glad you added more detail to the white part of his hair, in the back. I think that's a bandana, but hell if I know, really. I just know I like the blue in his hair. It's cute. Nice shading on his flesh as well.

Karasu @ Tuesday, February 8th 2005, 12:45 AM
I feel that if I stare into his eyes it will start to vortex on me...*phew* The only thing that really sort of bugs me here is that the lighting or the contrast seems kinda weird. I can't really put my finger on it well enough to describe to you...foo. otherwise, interesting choice for hair! and i love how you used the tones : )

Ikena @ Sunday, February 13th 2005, 4:24 PM

Wow, is the timer right? *pokes*

Anyway, yesh, another sketch. This one is my Drow character, Ydrah'Ska. When she was young, she got attacked by a monster. The creature drove her totally insane and ripped half of her face. Her family, hoping she might recover one day, casted a guadian (her hair changing in snake) to look over her. Sadly, she became more and more crazy, and killed her whole family.

Q: Another sketch?
A: Huh, yeah, I wanted to see if I could try something with the layers, and it worked. ^-^

Q: But still, you have two unfinished sketches.
A: I, huh,... Know. Your point?

Q: You're just a procrastinator who can't finish her pics!!! Sue you!
A: Yes, I love you too. Now, go play with a misfunctionnal lawnmover. (thanks to Shas-o for that one. ^_^).

Anyway, comment are always welcome!

Tigerhawk @ Friday, February 4th 2005, 2:49 AM
YAY!!!! You DID come! This is coming out great! Finish IT!!!

Totenmaske @ Friday, February 4th 2005, 6:19 AM
Well to quote you directly:
Q: But still, you have two unfinished sketches.
A: I, huh,... Know. Your point?

Totenmaske A: Well see the point is this, it is seen as spamming the board ? see rule 9 of Drowkaki. This is your first warning on this issue ? I am going to give you time to refine this image as well as finish the first image on the board ? if you have any trouble with either you can always email me and I?ll be happy to help. But really you should finish an image that you begin, especially since the first one can be considered gift art to Kern. Now that being said I have to agree I like the overall look of your images so far ? if you went over and refined your line art to something smoother it would be really impressive.
Btw this image is under the time limit of a minimum of 30 min ? yeah by two min, but still just have to inform you of that.

Now overall the expression of this character is fantastically rendered I really like the way you rendered the ears and well the hand gesture is very nice ? but like I have said it seems to need some refining. The colouring with this image, which I hope you will get around to ? especially after I have given you an official warning ? can be really interesting especially around the ?eye attachment. The snake is a nice touch btw ? btw the hair, you can experiment if you want to try to get an individual strand look with the application when you go to colour ? some people use highlight and burn tools. Just a little helpful info?

Now just finish your first image and then this ? and don?t forget to comment.

catboi incubus mishi @ Friday, February 4th 2005, 2:18 PM
Exactly, what Toten said. When you submit unfinished sketches, they push down other images that have been worked on a lot longer, and thus resulting in those images getting less comments. I think it would be wise for you to go over the rules once more, because this lackadaisical attitude you have about them isn't doing you any favors and also makes you look rude.

Hmm... the name definitely sounds familiar... <{^ ^}> Welcome back! This is lovely lineart, I have to admit, and the variations of color used for shading are very lovely. A little extreme in places, but still you did a fantastic job. I like the cat eyes on the black haired one, and the eye on the red haired one is very beautifully done.. Their hair is very shiny :)... My biggest beef is really just nitpicking. The cat-eyed guy's cheekbone is highlighted in a wierd way on the side furthest from our perspective... and his hair hangs over a shiny spot without shadow on that same side. Yeah, that's all I got... this is really wonderful work! Welcome back!

Prismatic @ Thursday, February 3rd 2005, 8:16 AM
The colors you used for the skin tones are nice. And of course the multiple tones give it a lot of depth. I never have been able to shade with solids. I specifically like the red heads eye. And the shineyness of thier hair!

I've had moments like that... my fighter, JT, only had enough gold for one room in the inn, so he bought the room for the lady they were protecting and decided to sleep outside. Now they've been having trouble with guards and wild animals like bears and wolves, so he thinks he'll sleep in a tree. He makes sure he has rope, so he can secure himself up there and make a little hammoc or something. Great plan, right? So he makes his climb, fails the first rope check, then a second rope check, and then two reflex saves (one made, one failed). What happened was as follows:

Jt climbed the tree and pulled out the rope. He managed to tie his hands together and get a little tangled before the rope coiled around the hilt of his sword and pulled it out of the sheath dangling it about five feet below him still attatched to the rope. JT leaned over to pull up the sword, lost his balance, over-corrected, and fell off the other side. The sword (yup, still on the rope) headed up towards JT as he fell, rather like a pulley system, but he managed to dodge it before he fell hard on his back on the ground. As he lay there in pain, rather winded, he failed to notice the sword coming back down after rounding the branch. It impaled him to the ground, securing him in place.

So the party finds JT bleeding to death, tied in rope, impaled by his own sword to the ground and completely unable to move. He did this completely on his own. THey have never stopped mocking him for that.

So! Great picture, I wish to see more when it is more done-like. I will actually comment on the image when that happens... I just thought you'd be amused by the story. <{^.^}>;;

Just one thing - maybe you could make the profile more...human-ey? I don't know if it's supposed to be more muzzle-like, as you said it's a dragon person, right? But if it's a human, it sort of goes in under the nose, then out again for the lips...and I'm being very vague as I'm tired. -_-. But, uhm, yes. I hope you find your tablet pen!
