Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

Okay. No one is allowed to laugh at my nebula or my temporal rip. Shut up. >.<

Anyway, this is based on a roleplay between my boyfriend and myself; it's kinda a what-if thing. The woman-thing is a Templar named Risel. The Templar are a mortal-created race, thus they don't have souls. They're really bitter about this, blah blah, and so they try to steal the Keys to Creation (the universe of the Gods). My character and Jason's stop Risel before she can get into creation, of course (because she's evil and we're good X3) But anyway, this is a 'what if Risel got the Keys and opened the gate to creation' or whatever. Yeah.

Ph33r teh crappy space-ness!

And her top is so cool, you seem to have quite some taste with clothes design^_-
The only thing that looks a bit out of proportion is her left arm(to my right)
It may be the perspective, but i think it should narrow a bit before the elbow and only then get wider to simulate the perspective.
I really like this, her eyes are deadly green>_<

shuzo @ Tuesday, December 13th 2005, 9:57 PM
Alrighty, most of you probably don't have a clue who I am! Yay :)
Anyway, I used to come here a long time ago. But that's not the point. The point is, I HATE MY COMPUTER MOUSE.

See, funny story. Dad moved out of the house, taking the good computer with him. I'm stuck with my mom's crappy work computer. I recently found out that my lovely wacom ISN'T COMPATABLE WITH THIS POS COMPUTER. Dangit ;.;
So this is my namesake character/muse, who is very picky about how she is drawn. She's really mad at me now, because I can't draw with a mouse so now her anatomy is all wonky, the lines are ugly and the coloring is shoddy :) Not to mention I forgot to put anything for her to lean on, so she's leaning on thin air. YEI!
Anyway, not my normal coloring style. I played with semi-solids a bit :)

Renmazuo @ Tuesday, December 13th 2005, 11:50 PM
Ah, what's a POS computerO_O???
XD I'm just glad my characters can't get angry at me...i thinkT_T;;
I really like how you coloured her top, it kinda looks as if it was made of syntetic stuff?w?
And how do you know there's nothing under there, it could be out of the frame*puts a giant piece of cheese under her arms*
MMMH, sheese!

Queen_Godzilla @ Wednesday, December 14th 2005, 6:18 AM
Renmazuo -- 'POS' stands for *ahem* 'Piece of sh**.' Lovely, huh?

Artist -- You have good arm and body structure on this figure and managed to do well enough with the mouse.

As for the mouse -- Is it a ball mouse (y'know, with a rolling ball and not a red laser?) because, if it is, you should pop off the ball-cap and see if there's gunk on the wheels. Pick out the gunk with nails, or anything flat and pointy. Voila! It works wonders.

shuzo @ Wednesday, December 14th 2005, 6:38 AM
heh, thanks- but I still hate the anatomy. And I already tried cleaning the wheels ;.; It's just an old mouse, doesn't work worth a crap anymore. Thanks for the advice and comment though.

Pooky @ Sunday, December 18th 2005, 6:24 PM
I think you did pretty well with that mouse. The only place where I can see strange lines are on her elbow.

The coloring looks cool, and the anatomy looks correct. I think her hair looks totally awesome.

And heh, she has to be pretty well balanced to be able not to fall when laening on air. XD

Segzhan @ Saturday, December 3rd 2005, 6:29 PM
I felt like thousands of tiny little hooks suddently grabbed by essence and pulled vigourously. Beyond the displeasing feeling, I was raging.

A stupid wizard was summoning me.

This time, I decided to appear as a red skinned demoness. When the wizard is a male, it never fails to intimidate.

As the world around me slowly materializes, I get the feeling to be in an old sepia photograph. Everything around me is in tones of brown. Even the wizard himself (a young teenaged boy) has brown hair, brown eyes, brown clothes and tan skin. He does not seem to be affected by the physical appearance I chose. Disapointed, I notice he is holding a jar, probably hand made in clay.

"Are you the Djinn Cosom?" He asks, sadly not scared.

"Yup, that would be me." I pointed at the jar. "I sure hope you do not plan to try to trap me inside that, boy."

Nice demon! I really like the upper body especially the spine that sticks out. I think I put curly horns in my picture because I saw the curly horns in your picture and they kinda stuck in my head. Mmhmm. :d

windblade @ Sunday, December 4th 2005, 12:28 AM
This looks cool, but... only one small detail, promise me you won't bite my head off (I only have one of it, and happen to like it at the time).

I'm not sure I like the demoness's hand hiding the human sumonner's face like this. Maybe it's on purpose, so we won't recognize the boy, but I think it would have been more interesting to put him a little bit to the right so we can see his expression.

Another suggestion would be to try using blue for the highlights/shading, since the sumonning ring is glowy blue light. Appart from that, this is a nice pic. Great anatomy on the demoness's back! The shading makes her look really round and... uh... I dunno, yummy?

Segzhan @ Sunday, December 4th 2005, 12:54 AM
Thanks for the critics, Windblade! :)

The point of that pic -was- to hide the faces. I tend to put too much importance into them. :)

And I tried doing the blue highlights. But it looked like crap. I had been working on that pic for three hours already. So I gave up. XD

Renmazuo @ Sunday, December 4th 2005, 4:11 AM
The demoness' body is really well drawn, and both the lines and colours kinda decieve me, because i almost see her floatingO_O

I do agree that the hand on the boy's face looks a bit weird though, maybe it's the perspective but it looks almost as if she was pushing him...

Other than that, this is a great illustration, and the story is interesting:3

Pooky @ Sunday, December 4th 2005, 1:15 PM

Don't think I've ever seen a pigeon griffin before! I admire your lineart and how it's not getting in the way of the drawing like thick black lines would have been. Nice texture in the floofy bird head and neck!

Renmazuo @ Sunday, December 4th 2005, 4:14 AM
Love the lineart, i can never get mine to be like thisT^T
And the expression is awesome!

Segzhan @ Sunday, December 4th 2005, 11:31 AM

Very unique deisgn, drawn with great style! I love it!

Pooky @ Sunday, December 4th 2005, 12:53 PM
Ahah, he looks so cool! XD
I really like the expression on his face. The way his eyebrow is raised is just so nice.
I really like the lineart, and the colors too. You have a pretty nice style!

The Blue Sorceress @ Friday, December 9th 2005, 5:43 AM
This is really spiffy. I love this critters smug look and the colors are very nice.

So this started off as a female profile- then I made it screaming, then I made it into a demon then it turned into this. I have changed his hair 8 times and still do not liek it and it's driving me nuts. So I must say "guh let it gio for a while" So yeah.

Explain more later about the picture in general. Ignore timer I have had this up for more than a few days.

This is neato. Reminds me of the time I went to see the Lion King broadway version! I like the expression, and I really like the way you shaded around the eye and o'course the teeeth.

Jaibyrd @ Tuesday, November 29th 2005, 2:50 PM
Wow, so far that is amazing work!!

Renmazuo @ Wednesday, December 7th 2005, 1:51 AM
O_O Great use of solids!
The light source is really well done, i could sure learn something from your colouring!

Jennifer, The Blue Narian @ Tuesday, December 20th 2005, 3:34 AM
Ah solid goodness! And that expression is perfect! Hope you finish some time. It's so hard to meld animal and human facial characteristics beleivably but I think you got it here.

Jennifer, The Blue Narian @ Tuesday, December 20th 2005, 3:32 AM
Very excelent start, He head might be a bit to skinny judgeing by the sketch though. You could be planning to fix that with the line art too so pay me no mind. Like to see it when it's done.

windblade @ Monday, November 28th 2005, 9:27 PM
It's Lex. He's a drow. well... originally, he was an alien, but now he's a drow. I play him in a (good!) d&d campaign (he's chaotic neutral, yay!). He usually has a (malfunctionning) hat of disguise, and is a subtle among the humans as a pink flamingo in a flock of geese.

It won't let me edit, so there.

Queen_Godzilla @ Monday, November 28th 2005, 10:33 PM
Yay for malfunctioning hat of disguise! XD! He looks very angry and yeah, that's not really subtle is it? Lovely scars, they look realistic.

You haven't drawn on here in a while, have you?

Eh, I haven't either.

Arisu @ Tuesday, November 29th 2005, 12:42 AM
Fwoah the background adds a lot! Looks like a scene from a story. Nice crossbow, I can never get those to look right. And I like that shady character in the alley. :d

Pooky @ Tuesday, November 29th 2005, 5:27 PM
It looks totally cool.
I really like his clothes. The coloring looks awesome! And there are pretty nice details in the background.

is it a kuma? Bearbearkumakuma!! X3 With a mohawk? Sweeet. A bear version of Mr.T! Huzzah! Just kidding. Love the armor style. BTW I find it odd how with my races, the bear-race (no name yet) have a Roman influence as well. Craziness o_O I just LOVE the unique way how you're coloring this, haven't seen this style in a long time. Can't wait to see this finished.

tdweulf @ Sunday, November 20th 2005, 11:01 PM
I'm proud of this picture, despite certain mistakes, the coloring was meant to be like that by the way, to give her a ominous aura XD.Anywho, This is one of my old characters named Maji ( from an unfinished manga I was working on in HighSchool ^^;; ) she still needs to be worked on eheh ^^ but I love it none the less ^__^ oh! and by the way, that's a uh big orb of fire over her hand/lower arm hence the fact of her hand/arm being hard to see

tdweulf @ Monday, November 21st 2005, 1:11 AM
man I just noticed that her eyes are FREAKY man o_o;;; especially with the some what accidental shading >.>

Pooky @ Monday, November 21st 2005, 6:24 PM
I think it looks lovely. ^^
She is really cute, and I like her hair. I agree about the eyes... they look kinda creepy lol
I think her thights are a little too big for the rest of her body. I mean, one of them is as large as her waist! o.o
Or is it only a question of perspective? Cause if it is, nevermind. I suck at perspective. -_-;

tdweulf @ Monday, November 21st 2005, 7:56 PM
yeah it was meant for perspective, still working on that too ^^ mew o.o none the less I appreciate your commenting and critique ^^

Arisu @ Monday, November 21st 2005, 8:19 PM
Like the outfit. Especially the top and boots! Even if it's sketchy the anatomy is nice.

clockwork_orange @ Tuesday, November 22nd 2005, 1:58 PM
The hair looks great and I love the detail you put into the outfit. Great job!

windblade @ Saturday, November 26th 2005, 9:23 PM
I know a neat trick to give your character an aura or to deepen the shadows... all you have to do, once your lineart is done and your coloring and shading is complete, is to flatten the image on layer 0, then select watercolors and paint the top layer in the color you want to use (black, dark blue, green, etc...). To give more emphasis on the highlights, use the eraser tool. If you want, you can do the exact opposite by painting the top layer in white (or any pale color of your choice, really) and erasing the shaded areas.

tdweulf @ Saturday, November 26th 2005, 11:31 PM
really? cool and thanks for the tip I'll be sure to use it in my next one ^^

Skittles-chan @ Sunday, December 11th 2005, 6:20 PM
The outfit is pretty cool, and I like how detailed it is. I also like that the lineart's pretty neat and maybe not smooth but not really gross sketchy. I would definately work on foreshortening, however, and use references when it comes to fire - it's way too difficult to illustrate without one. I even have trouble when I -do- use a reference x.x;
And her eyes -are- wicked.

That last picture I did was so bad I had to delete it. I\\\'m going to try to redeem myself with this one.

Finished! I was absent from school today to write a paper (I procrastinate alot) and after i finished it i decided to finish this too.

I messed up the layers extremely badly so everything is on one layer. Smart, right?

windblade @ Monday, November 28th 2005, 10:35 PM
The eyes look a bit too high and too close together, but that's my only negative comment. Your style of lineart is fun, I like the angularity (ahaha, if that's a word) of it all and the way you vary the thickness.

So yeah. First oekaki in at least a year. Can't say I'm too happy with it. I forgot completely about the jewelry, the wings suck, and I neglected so many places that need touching up. blaaarg.

but yeah other than that, critique is more than accepted. <3

Pooky @ Sunday, November 20th 2005, 6:03 PM
This is really pretty!
I like the hair A LOT. It looks totally incredible. The expression on the face is really well done. I like the eyes very much.
The anatomy looks good, but I think the collar bones should be a little less V shaped.
The wings look cool too.

I think the water looks really nice. The trees and dead leaves could look more realistic tho, and they would fit better with the rest of the drawing.

Arisu @ Sunday, November 20th 2005, 9:56 PM
This is really pretty, I like the autumn colors the most. They really stand out. Really nice background. Lots of detail, like how the stream goes off into the trees. Sweet hair. :D

clockwork_orange @ Tuesday, November 22nd 2005, 1:56 PM
Lovely. Absolutely lovely. I dig the skin and the ripples in the water and the hair. Three itty bitty things bother me though: His arm looks strange. Especially the upper arm. Also the loincloth thing doesnt look quite right. The shading on it is lovely but i think it would help to make the one part look more like its under water by making it darker or more out of line with the rest of it. The trees it the bg are great, but you could still add a bit more detail.

That's all I got. Still, AWESOME pic! It's wayyyy beyond anything that I could ever do. Kudos!

Renmazuo @ Wednesday, December 7th 2005, 1:55 AM
Good gracious!!!OAO;
The background is so cooooooool!*has a love for backgrounds*
And the guy's anatomy is really good, plus the colours are awesome so...yeah*foams and then faints on the floor*
