Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

Wow. This boards been on a roll lately. Keep it up everyone. ^_^

Funny how you'll have something in your mind when you start drawing, and when you finish it's so off base you wonder how it happened. >_>
Anyway, that can make things fun to draw. Like this was, despite the ginormous canvas size. (I can't figure out why I did that.) I didn't do the greatest job of filling it. Yes, many dull areas, but still, this was meant to look a little dreary. Might end up adding things anyway.

Yes. I gots camera today.

Oh man, that's a cool picture. I wasn't sure if it was clouds or muddy water until I watched the animation. The use of browns is awesome.

I really like watching the animation, too. More people should do animated pictures. It's always fun to see how other artists do things.

Tigerhawk @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 8:10 PM
*watches the animation* Wow, you make that look so simple. You did a superb job with the monocromatic feel. Did you know brown drains energy? So this picture gives you a sense of hopelessness. Luf the puffy clouds :3

Sumi @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 9:23 PM
It's insane how you can make solids looks so... poofy! The browns and tans definately give this picture a pleasantly calm and gentle vibe. I adore your style, Arisu - and congrats on the camera. =D

Starlitdragon @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 10:50 PM
Wow, I'm loving the browns and the the subtle shifts in colour. I really like how the hair flies past his face to hide his eyes- that's quite trippy. Beautiful concept going on.

Cynezero @ Tuesday, February 14th 2006, 3:28 AM
I love it!
Lovely job with the soilids, the smokey like clouds came out wonderfully! Amazing pose too, very dramatic. The brown hues are soothing. :] <3

freakymary @ Tuesday, February 14th 2006, 8:25 PM
wow 0_o i am amazed how you did this, really just all browns in this had to be hard to do. The clouds are simple, yet so much detail and depth in them. Exellent job :) hope you get more "visions" often!

Jennifer, The Blue Narian @ Thursday, February 16th 2006, 2:33 AM
*chuckle* That happens to me ALOT. My stuff never does come out much like I first invisioned it. ^^;

I must say... wow. You take both solid goodness and linelessness to an entire new level.

I dock my hat to a far better artist then myself.

mazilwolf @ Thursday, February 16th 2006, 4:18 AM
yeah, know what ya mean!
those clouds are like.. perfect! i love clouds, they always look so different, every single time you look at them, and i thnkyou somwehat captured their versitility in this. i think you filled up this space very very well! go you! *has 'Go Arisu' Flag*

Ven @ Friday, February 17th 2006, 4:12 AM

I love that you can't tell what direction he's flying.
I think I might try this style out sometime if you don't mind

Chime @ Saturday, February 18th 2006, 9:40 PM
One-color pic's seem to be the new fad >___>

I love it though <33 Especially how theres that tiny but of yellow-green... really pretty there. The line-less ness is great >w<;

bernandette @ Sunday, February 19th 2006, 11:21 AM
OhemGEE! such pretty lineless art O.O I love the colors, and the clouds =D

Pooky @ Thursday, February 23rd 2006, 11:03 AM
Lovely. I like the browns and the monochromic coloring. The little bits of light green are pretty nice with the rest of the drawing.

Kaiera @ Saturday, February 25th 2006, 2:11 PM

Hello, I\'m a newb to this board.

This did not take as long as it says, I can\'t ever sit still so I was wondering aimlessly around the house then coming back to this. So all in all this took 1 ina half or more.

Rushed the coloring, cause it\'s late. Otherwise, hope it\'s okay. :3
>Thank you guys for the comments, and the greetings! Definately will draw here more often, I like it here, everyone is so nice, and the feedback is very detailed!!! Thankies for that! :D

>>freakymary- Thanks! I hope to have the time to shade normally someday!!! I get so impatient!

You may have seen me from Oekaki Central? I go as Cynezero there, and on Loppiart I go as Cyne.

Wowies, where do I start? =o Well, welcome to the board!
I think I've fallen in love with the purple and orange sea in the background, which perfectly compliment your puppy's eye - and what an eye it is. <3 With your shading you've given wonderful textures to the fur around its face (especially behind its eye) and the ruff on its neck. A bit of saliva dripping from the tongue was all you needed to pull this one together. =3
I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful arts here!

freakymary @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 11:30 AM
scary enough i know you from somewere 0_o the name ive seen before and the art style i reconize too.

either way welcome ^_^ love the style though, the face expression is cute yet evil too. the shading is exellent, love to see how good you are when you shade normally ^_^

Annie Felis @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 4:27 PM
Ooo, I like him. Kind of reminds me of RedXIII a little bit. The colors on this are just wonderful, as are the textures of the clouds and fur.

Arisu @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 7:20 PM
I love the way you mix purples and oranges in the background- beautiful background by the way. This picture has depth! And still so much detail everywhere else. The eye and the shading on the bridge of the nose especially. Nice lineart too. :D

Tigerhawk @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 8:12 PM
Love the red Canine and his/her dappled fur! The detail is very nice. the sea is very cool as well with the change of hue. I like how you have the sun's rays blasting out too. Awesome clouds look very realistic.

Starlitdragon @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 10:39 PM
That eye just grabbed my attention. It's so beautiful, along with the rest of the subject. Those patterns are a really nice touch- and the expression rocks! Hehe, kudos on the background work. Mmm, cotton-candy clouds. Fantastic. Welcome to the boards, I hope to see more of your work! :)

Jennifer, The Blue Narian @ Thursday, February 16th 2006, 2:32 AM
That is nicely done! Very nice line art and texture.

Welcome and hope to see more of your work!

mazilwolf @ Thursday, February 16th 2006, 4:19 AM
wow, love the fur! the shading, its pretty damn cool!
the eyes looks ver shiney, and i love its screwed up expression, the tounge out, teeth beared, like its hissing, protecting sopmthing prahaps...

Pooky @ Thursday, February 16th 2006, 5:35 PM
Now, that's a cool beastie! It looks kinda stupid tho, with that doggy pose. XD
The textures are really nice. The mouth of the creature is pretty well done, and the drool on its tongue is hilarious. XD
The eye looks great. I ADORE your background. The light almost looks real, and I love how it reflects on the clouds and landscape.
There's only one simple thing botehring me: there's color getting out of the lineart. XP

Chime @ Saturday, February 18th 2006, 9:41 PM
Whatever it is...I want to eat it O:

My favorite part is that background. Its almost like a photo :O

She's so cute. I like her uber-shiny hair.

Tigerhawk @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 8:14 PM
your chameleon looks a bit stoned lol but never-the-less looks cool. I really like the soft touches with the coloring and the bright glowing ball of goodness. I think it should be reflected in the eyes though. But no worries, looks pretty good anyways ^^ you need to draw more! Rawr! We want your arts

Starlitdragon @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 10:35 PM

[View Animation]
windblade @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 12:54 AM
The sanyi are a race of cool-blooded, purple-skinned aliens which prides themselves in their cloning technology and powerful, well-disciplined conquering fleet. They truly believe in gender equality, and in fact, don't understand why males and females should be considered different in ANY aspect, appart from the obvious physical ones. Maybe as a result from their cloning computers, there's no such thing as homo- or heterosexuality in their society. Females still give birth, but all children, natural or cloned, are raised by caretakers (their reasonning being that these people are much more qualified for taking care of children than just any random girl who forgot to use contraceptives).

As with all races, the sanyi have their flaws. They are completely dependant on their technology. Every sanyi has implants, and every sanyi who has gained more than one rank in any job has a powerful personnal computer to assist him in his tasks.

The sanyi are ruled by a group of special individuals called the Conclave. There are three known circles in this organisation (lower conclave, middle conclave and high conclave), but it is rumored that some secret circles exist. The individuals forming this strange, mysterious government are, it is said, specially bred and trained for this purpose.

Personality disorders are rare in the sanyi society, and anything unusual is treated with mood-altering drugs as soon as discovered. Despite this, once in a while comes a very disturbed individual. The last one was a young soldier by the name of Jadiel who was affected by Malika syndrome, a rare and under-studied disorder. He rose to the rank of general before something in him broke and he brought nearly half of his nation in a revolution against the Conclave. Fortunately, his attempt was stopped and the general was sent in a cryogenic prison for a hundred years. Since he still had a great influence on the people at the time of his capture, this was thought to be better than execution or exile. He would not be turned into a martyr, and he would not be able to build up a new army to come back later. All of Jadiel's clones were destroyed, since it was possible that they would be subject to the same illness.

This lady here has the rank of Wing in the army. The colors and design of her armour inform others about her squad (redbrass-114), the shoulders and the patches on her waist indicate her rank (Wing is two ranks higher than sergeant) and the bands and dots on her thigh indicate her marital status (passively looking for companion). The strange "wings" on her helmet hold her delicate, sensitive "ear-frills", which, appart from their hearing function, act a bit like a cat's whiskers. Despite her juvenile appearance, she is a mature female who would be in her late twenties, had she been human.

And I think I wrote too much.

Sumi @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 1:59 AM
It's the windy! <3 I never get tired of seeing your style pop up.
The society reminds me of the book The Giver with the "mood-altering drugs" and such. Very out of the box - I like it. =3
I love the light reflection on her helmet, and the impossible happened. I to believe your shading has gotten even more delicious, especially the bigger components around her lower leg.... I wonder what she's thinking. She's so accomplished, yet she doesn't seem to be happy.

mazilwolf @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 7:05 AM
*sigh* i could gaze at this for hours...
i love the shading, its so... purty! i cant see a single thing you could have done better in my eyes!

Annie Felis @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 12:33 PM
I really like your story about the race. I like it just as much as the picture, honestly. This is really well-done, I like the design of her armor and uniform, and the shiny coloring on the metal.

Starlitdragon @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 9:54 PM
I really like those shoes. And the way your colour metallic objects- they look so deliciously lickable. The colour combination you used is quite attractive as well.

The race idea sounded interesting- it reminded me a bit of 'A Brave World', where humans are raised and surpressed chemically as an experiment.

freakymary @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 2:15 AM
wow windblade, you have gotten amazing since i last seen you 0_0 the detail, i love the shinning on the armpr. and the area with the mask, you can barly see her purple skin is just catching my attention. exellent work :) love the story/world description also!

Arisu @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 7:13 PM
I love the amazing attention to detail you put into everything. There are so many little things in this like how the colors reflect on eachother. You could really stare at this for a long time and not catch everything, I'm sure.

Jennifer, The Blue Narian @ Thursday, February 16th 2006, 2:28 AM

mazilwolf @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 7:03 AM
Sumi, i think that the giant praying mantis in then background is fantasy! XD lol!
heh, no, i didnt spot it for a while either! XD
i love the way you shaded!its really quite amazing!
that building is so detailed!
if you ever did somthing like this again, the only thing i would reccomend is that you found a picture of a praying mantis, and put lots of detail into that so it stood out more and was easier to see.
apart from that, this is amazing, Great job! hope ta see ya stuff here again soon! yush!

windblade @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 11:33 AM
Giant praying mantises PWN godzilla and all those giant city-smashing robots. Nice buildings!

Cool scribbly shading! However, I suggest you work a little bit more on his right hand (our left), since the gray you used is the same as the building behind's and we're losing some details there.

Sumi @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 1:21 PM
Thank you for adding the praying mantis destroying the city. XD It fits perfectly with your guy's "o-noes" expression.

Annie Felis @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 2:59 PM
Heh, actually I like this picture so much better with the mantis in the background. Reminds me of one of those old B movies you laugh at for their cheesiness. Very good solid shading, by the way. I like your style of coloring.

Starlitdragon @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 9:57 PM
Gogo praying mantis! I've probably been watching it too many times, I thought 'The Ultimate Showdown' with Trapzoid singing.

Nice experimenting- I like scribbly-painting painting styles. And, of course, the "Oh Noes" expression.

freakymary @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 2:16 AM

Greetings Sumi.
Yes it is dying, it been dying for 2 years now. And it moderators are long gone too. So nobody been approving the new accounts for a long time. Would you like to be moderator? If you go through the new users every week, there is the chance of getting new blood from time to time. Or any other regular who want to be moderator, just post here and tell me.

Tigerhawk @ Friday, February 10th 2006, 1:00 AM
Wow, she looks African =D that's so cool! with nice white hair. The brown is a nice touch for the background as well. Very nicely done.

As for the oekaki, yeah I agree, mainly because I have the oekaki ruin my pictures time form time and that drives me nuts. Also there isn't any contests or such going on. I check the oekaki board everyday and there isn't much motivation going on which sucks. I say if Sumi can do it, more power to her! cause I'm sure she can motivate us artists and such =P

Annie Felis @ Friday, February 10th 2006, 1:11 AM
Actually that looks like your stereotypical drow female in casual clothes, whether you're talking Drowtales or Forgotten Realms. I think she looks pretty good.

As for the board, I wandered back here because my board is dead. I made a rule that people couid only apply if they could show that they could draw better than a 7-year-old's level, and well....either people didn't submit pictures when applying, or they really DID draw like 7-year-olds (I'm not makng this up). Either way, all the people at my board have moved on, so I came here in hopes of seeing some activity. Kinda sad that nothing is going on here.

Sumi @ Friday, February 10th 2006, 6:53 AM
I would love to be a moderator if it means helping to get Drowkaki up to par with the old one I used to know.

Starlitdragon @ Friday, February 10th 2006, 7:43 PM
I've been lurking around on the board, though this is the first time I've registered. I hope we can liven this place up a little!

On the subject of the picture, I quite like how her hands and figure turned out. You have a really nifty style.

Kern @ Saturday, February 11th 2006, 12:07 AM
You are now a moderator Sumi. In administration you'll find 'view pending' which permit you to review new members. Make sure they include an art url for you to review their arts. If they don't and you don't know the person, reject him or her with a reason provided. If the arts shown in the arts url is really bad, don't approve. Otherwise, approve. Feel free to post contest or activities in the notice. If there is something that confuse you, feel free to mail me. Thank you for your help, i really don't have the time to take care of sections like oekaki anymore and Totenmask, the old Moderator is nowhere to be found.

windblade @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 1:13 AM
I've always liked your really soft style, and this is no exception. She has this strange wild beauty to her, like a feline at rest who could, at any moment, stand up and claw your face off.

Ven @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 6:01 AM
I love shading done in browns. They're almost always sexy. I also really love the hair. The arm is really off though; the top section isn't long enough, the mid section doesn't really connect to anything, and on the hand, the palm is a little to long. But I do like the right shoulder, it lines up with the clavacle; the left sholder doesn't really though. The lips are beautifully done. I especially love the shading on the top left of them.

Sumi @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 1:23 PM
The hand goes with the right (our right) arm, and the lower part of the arm that is crossed over goes with the left (our left) arm.... if that makes any sense. XD

Fishsticks, I thought I commented on this one. This has a nice painted feel to it, and everything is absolutely beautiful. Love the face especially. So much detail on those lips alone.. yet you manage to keep the entire picture looking so clean.

Pooky @ Thursday, February 16th 2006, 10:02 AM
Aw, lovely tones! I really like the overall feeling of it. The hair and nails make a nice contrast with the rest of the drawing. I love the gold parts with the chocolate brown.
The only thing that bothers me is that the hands looks slightly too long.

From what I can see, the armor is pretty cool. Your lineart is nice, and the highlights in the hair and on the armor look great.

Annie Felis @ Thursday, February 9th 2006, 1:39 PM
I like how you did the shines on the hair. That's some awesome cell shading there.

Starlitdragon @ Friday, February 10th 2006, 7:44 PM
Nice hair! I find the eyes neat, along with the red/watermelon colour combination. The cel-style you've used makes the armor look awesome.

Sometimes the urge for fancy-pants lineart just takes the driver's seat. Colors are thrown out the window, and otherwise attention stealing notions are dropped off to goodwill.

We won't have any of this other junk taking away from the simple lines. Oh we shan't stand for it! In fact we abhor it. We demand a recount, yes we do.

Coloring this was part of the initial plan, but I ended up liking the lineart by itself, and why halfass the colors and end up not liking it? Why indeed. A waste of time I say! Yes...a waste.

Black Wings @ Wednesday, February 8th 2006, 6:33 PM
or you just got lazy... either way, very nice lineart ;)

I really like your drawings, especially the way you draw hair and eyes. Fancy and tasty lineart! The details around the hair are a good touch, as well.

windblade @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 9:49 PM
One of these days, I want to try coloring your lineart. It's always so much neater than mine is (I suffer from the fuzzy lineart syndrome, but try to keep it down). Just send me a message if you're game!

you're back! huzzah! Yes, I will make a much more...useful comment when you finish.

Annie Felis @ Friday, February 10th 2006, 1:12 AM
I will finish when I have a decent attention span again. I come back, draw two or three lines, and get bored.

Annie Felis @ Sunday, February 12th 2006, 7:27 PM
There, now I'm done. Refresh the image if you can't see the completed version. Sorry if it took me a whole week to do this. I've been trying to force myself to draw, and the result is me working on things for only a few minutes at a time. Honestly, that's better than not drawing at all.

Anyway, as if you couldn't tell by the typo'd title, it's a Succubus. Not all Succubi are wings and horns, though. I imagine there can be a large variety.

Tigerhawk @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 8:17 PM
Love the colors on her wings, very soft and appealing to the eyes. Having the soft pastel color green in the background also brings her out and I say it's an awesome touch. over all I think you did an awesome job.
Say, are you going to continue that one comic? *forgot the name*

Annie Felis @ Monday, February 13th 2006, 9:45 PM
Kefkaroth? I don't know. I'd like to, but my attention span for things like that suck. If I had a chance/skill/patience to complete any comic, I'd rather do Demon Heart. That at least is short. Besides, I like Laele's story.

Anyway, I love your style pretty much. Your coloring is awesome! I love how you did her face. The lips and tattoos look pretty nice.
Very cool design for the skirt and the wings. How you colored the skin makes it look almost real. It's incredible. I like the simple but nice branch too.
