Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

dorothyblueeyes @ Thursday, October 5th 2006, 6:59 AM
Very nice, and professional, too. Do you also do oil painting in real life? You have the talent to do very good paintings involving light, and subtle lighting effects, if you wanted to; do you like dutch master's paintings? You would like the way they depicted lighting. Rembrandt is very good at this.

Well as you can see it's faaaar from complete. But it's been more than a year since my last drawing, and I figured it was time for an update! I dunno when I'll get around to finishing this, maybe never. But it was too much time and effort to just abandon at this point, so I figured I'd send in what I had.

dorothyblueeyes @ Thursday, October 5th 2006, 6:52 AM
Yes, excellent line art,and I love that tiny dragon too. I was surprised to see this is a female artist, cause this is the image of sci-fi or fantasy women, that guys like; nipples standing out, very long tiny waist, and a big rear. Not to mention the big eyes. Maybe this is just a fantasy version of the female.Who knows?Very good drawing, though.

Hee hee, reminmds me of my cat, giving me a dead bluejay, cause he likes me for feeding him. "Oh, master, please eat this." Good sense of humour, I value that. The thing about line art and art that is more dependent on "volume" is that if you use great volume, lots of mass, shading,,you do not need so much line. And,if you have great line art,you do not need so much shading, dark colors, and lots of paint. With good line art,you can just "tint" or "detail" parts, to indicate color; the line art,and it'ss tyle, stand mostly on it's own. I think that is the secret of some of our great line-art artists, and their style, on this site(and others)_.

This is my first oekaki in about 6 months O.o I'm soo rusty. Haha, I got lazy with the leaves/branches/background. Anyway, just a little faerie. I had no spring this year because lower Ohio sucks, so now that's school's out I'll celebrate spring... Mainly because it's not warm enough to go swimming. Anyway, I tried a new coloring technique for the skin; it came out alright I guess. My favorite parts are the hair, wings, and fuzzy antennae :3

I love her she is just right for a happy fairy; wonderful colors, and such good background, well done. Many fairies are depicted in the nude, anyhow, cause they are "natural"and do not wear clothing. They do not really need to,so there's nothing wrong with them being done in the nude. Nudity in artwork, and nudity in pornography are completely different things, anyhow.

dorothyblueeyes @ Thursday, October 5th 2006, 5:59 AM
Very beautifu; and I love the hair; white hair is very hard to do,but you got it just right. And the darker skin makes it just pop right, accented by that eye; very sweet, too, who is he? ha ha.

ehhg. I haven't drawn here in a while. This is a horrible drawing.

But, I was in a bit of a hurry. Im very, very tired. I have to ask something though. And I thought Drow has so, so many talented artists, that I should ask here.

I'm having big problems with male anatomy. I've looked up tutorials, I've bought books. I've bought 'How To Draw Manga 'Male Characters' but nothing is helping me I dont feel.

I've even tried watching oekaki animations, to see if it'd help me. But most people who /are/ good with the male anatomy and have it down, don't need to start with a basic skeleton structure because they already know what theya re doing, so It doesn't help me that way.

I was wondering if someone, if they have the time, could help me by doing a little tutorial thing for me. I'd appreciate it ALOT. Mary's breast tutorial, helped me /alot/ so I figure it's worth asking again when I need help.

If someone does this for me, Ill be like, so dead grateful .x_x; Looove I will. For ever. If not I understand. :3 But it'd be appreciate it. I need help mucho much. As you can proably tell from this drawing some what.xD I disguised the body so you cann see how horrible it is.

Ikena @ Monday, June 5th 2006, 6:55 PM
Ah! very pretty drawing!
i love the colors you used..
About the male anatomy thinguie, Im still kinda working at it.. so far im kinda getting better with the torso, but waist and legs, are still a prob for me.. >__<

Arisu @ Monday, June 5th 2006, 10:44 PM
eehee I -love- solid art like this. Great face. Nice job!

Theron @ Wednesday, June 7th 2006, 2:34 PM
Ah that's a shwanky purple!
I'll do a tutorial for you ^_^ I dunno how much it will help but I'll give it a whirl!

Little Elf @ Sunday, June 11th 2006, 6:27 PM
Wait...it's a guy...Aw crap! *runs away blushing* I don't mean to sound rude btw. XD I like to brag about my ability to tell androgenous males apart and I was just PWND. Okay anyways, he's very pretty! I think his hiar made me think girl. Ah...*is still embarassed* That's a really lovely purple, and just how you colored only hsi face is a nice touch. It adds...something that I can't quite explain. (and no that's not a bad thing) I can almost imagine his body with that purple...is that strange? I love your picture, it's so simple and elegant, even if you doubt your talent with male anatomy. =3

tori_yuugi @ Tuesday, June 13th 2006, 1:14 PM
hey this is nice! i like the sunglasses and the feather dont worry drawing guys seem to be ahrder than drwing girls strange

Jennifer, The Blue Narian @ Thursday, June 22nd 2006, 6:13 AM
This has a very nice styalised graphic feel to it. I like the contrast between the shaded and detailed face and the flat body. The lips are especialy nice.

dorothyblueeyes @ Thursday, October 5th 2006, 5:55 AM
Very nice, I like the coloring too. Men are usually heavier and broader in the uipper part of their body;they are much narrower lower down. So,a good beginning rule in drawing men,is to look at their shoulders, and pectorals, and figure just how broad they are. It is one of the main differnces between men and women;women';s center of gravity is in their hips, bottom; men[s center of gravity is in the shoulders and chest. Women even like activities where they sit down.Men do not like that, they prefer standing, and doing action activities, cause they do not like long periods of time, sitting in a chair. This will give you some hints, as to how you draw them, in what activities.

The angel from 16017.
He really needs a name...

Jennifer, The Blue Narian @ Thursday, June 8th 2006, 5:28 PM
Wonderful job. Angel he may be but that expression gives me a slightly chilled feeling. Like he either knows something I don't or is about to do something that will shock me badly.

Not to sure what the feather thing infront of him is though.

Now names... humm...Jasper? Micheal (I know, overused)? Johnathan? Remmy? Matthew? Hope one of those helps.

Little Elf @ Sunday, June 11th 2006, 6:20 PM

This is very cute.Great idea, and composition, too. ha ha. Makes me want to draw fairies; have you seen the movie "Fairies"? You should rent it;about the photographer, who found the picture of a real fairy, in a photo,in the tiny reflection in a little girl's eye,as she was staring at one.Very erriey and romantic, you might like it.

Jennifer, The Blue Narian @ Thursday, June 22nd 2006, 6:17 AM
A little different from what I normaly see you do here. Very nice. The contrast of the shaded parts with the flat backgrounds and flowers gives it a very nice graphic feeling (pluse that is just one kick bum nice background). Kinda wish the daisy/white flower he (?) is holding, at least the petals any why, where shaded as well.

christabel @ Sunday, June 25th 2006, 2:06 AM
I think this is my favourite of yours! the shapes 'n' colours 'n' mix of outlined bits vs non-outlined bits = total win.

Thanks Sumi for reposting this one for me. I deleted the old one.

Any way, this is Inu from my old Hawke and Co. Stories... well a revised and more humanized version. Last time I drew her was WAY back in 1997.... and you can see that art work at my equaly old and decrepid site http://www.angelfire.com/art/ryuyujin/HawkeCo.html that I hope to totaly give an overhaul some day.

Just a very homocidal demoness with an agenda and a soft spot for kids and hopeless causes. Wnat to know more about her, go here: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/34603386/

Yes, she IS wearing a top, a tube top to be precise, just hard to see at this angle. And yes those are tattoos. And yes I forgot her claws. ^^;

Thanks everyone. Glad you all liked. ^_^

Kia, just wanted to point out Inu is a girl, not a boy. ^^; I apoligize if that is confuseing. She does look and act much more butch then most girls do.

And Lady GH, the graphic quality was intentional. I'm a graphic designer by trade and decided to start mixing what I learned there in my more 'fun' and 'traditional' works.

I had this happen to me here the first three images I did. The administrators are good though and got things as straightened out as much as possible quickly. I'm sure they'll help you out too. But just in case, it is a good idea to screen capture or other wise save your work. That way if it is lost you can have a administrator upload it for you later.
