Drowkaki was finally upgraded to Poteto 5.1 then to Wax Poteto. A much needed upgrade after so many years without change and with all these bugs plaguing us. We had to trash our custom MODS but it seem that wax poteto include some of the stuff we had. Avatar(go in your profile) and picture uploading. It also come with some new features as well. The most important one is to be able to re-touch everything, including SHI-PAINTER pictures , non animated oekaki and uploaded stuff. I'm sorry we didn't do this upgrade sooner. Now the board is pretty much lifeless, but i hope now that approving new accountsl became optional, that some life will return around here on this fantasy-only oekaki board.

I gave up on the fanart I was drawing, it wasnt working out, and Now Ive just lost my tablet pen so I cant finish this right now >.> Just my luck, eh?

Ichumi @ Monday, January 31st 2005, 5:58 AM
I like the pose. ^^
Hope your tablet pen shows up soon!

Kwetha @ Wednesday, February 2nd 2005, 9:05 PM
ah...tablet pens...isn't it always the way. Anyway, I think this looks really good right now! The anatomy looks good (well, to me at least...) and I really like the arm closest to the viewer. Just one thing - maybe you could make the profile more...human-ey? I don't know if it's supposed to be more muzzle-like, as you said it's a dragon person, right? But if it's a human, it sort of goes in under the nose, then out again for the lips...and I'm being very vague as I'm tired. -_-. But, uhm, yes. I hope you find your tablet pen!

Well I'm sorry to say this, but you didn't compose this image in animation, so it will not be able to be retouched later on? Pity too because I actually like the overall look so far ? the only thing I can recommend though is to save a copy of it and remove it from the board and start anew? Nice start though, just have to keep in mind if you don?t think you will be able to finish an image at one sitting it?s best to be safe and use Animation OekakiBBS or Animation PaintBBS.

ChronosKit @ Tuesday, January 25th 2005, 4:33 AM
awww...I thought I clicked animation...I feel bad now, I was too tired to realize it earlier, that and my head was-a pounding. Ill save and redraw later though.

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 25th 2005, 5:45 AM
I'd like to see a finished version someday. It's cute so far!

ChronosKit @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 11:08 PM
Bah, Im done now. I cant draw trees, but I attemtped to! MWUAHAHAHA!!..My try at cel shading, Ive gotten better than when I first started using oekaki boards...the white and gray balls of random watercolor painting are supposed to be snowflakes XP

oni shi @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 12:44 AM
ahh u improve so fast im impressed!i like the cell style shadeing and the line art is clean awsome job!

ChronosKit @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 1:15 AM
Thanks ^.^'' I take everything Ive been critiqued on and I use it, that and Ive been practicing with my tablet lol.

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 4:58 PM
Your tree looks okay. I wouldn't worry about it. Her eyes and tattoo are neat. And the grass looks well done.

She looks quite content.

kyokurrychan @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 5:59 PM
wow, youre getting better really fast ^^ awesome. i love the face paint stuff over her eyes. and the eyes look pretty cool too ^^;

Lady_Sea @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 9:24 PM
Oh wow!! I love the coloring on this, especially the shading and lighting. She has really nifty looking eyes, green irises, red pupils. Really neat combo. I like the tattoo art on her face. It's really fitting to this character. Good job.

Darkrose @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 10:18 PM
Ooh, I like the snow in the background. It seems a litle choppy, maybe some serious blending could make it look more nifty, but I still like it. Good attention to the depth of the background, too, with all the pockets of green and the hills where roots go and such. I love the green eyes on that drow, and the facial markings are nifty. Her hair seems a little too together, maybe draw some more strands in it like you've got with the bangs there... that might help. But the lineart is crisp and nice looking and I love the eyes, good job getting them the right sizes for their respective locations. So overall great job!

Kamourian King @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:52 AM
i really like that tatoo ^^ and try useing water color for the whole Bg, itll look better ^^

Starisan @ Monday, January 3rd 2005, 11:28 PM
I just watched the animation of this, in the afternoon and I thought it was really cool. I noticed lots of details that I didn't notice off the bat. I think your highlighting is great and I love the color of her hair. She looks very pensive.

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 3:05 AM
ohh yeah finall a drow!! I like it the tatoo should have been done in Water color though... you might have considered drawing shines in the eyes also the hair is pretty good although the piece that is hanging down looks kinda like playdough...but it reall is a good pic!!although the tree is funky it is good to have a funky tree every once in awhile!! Keep it up!!

KHatch @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 8:15 PM
Nice design. The tattoo(?) is interesting, and the shading on the piece is good, it goes with the theme. My only concern is that the eyes have no highlight to them, no sparkle, so the drow seems a little...lifeless. It's a bit creepy X.x

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 4:49 AM
nice face and eyes. A very interesting color combo. The face marking is cool too. I like the snowy atmosphere but i think your need a couple more details to pull it off. For instance the solid blue BG could use some speckles of white. and the ground could use areas of a more complete white then others. Or were you going for a frost as apposed to snow?

Basil @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 11:58 PM
Her hair is quite unique. =o I really like the shading that you incorporated into the facial tattoo, and her eyes are quite nice as well. Lovely image. Bravo!

Wow! I Actually like this picture ^.^ I spent more time developing the shading, and working on the background((Its supposed to be a brick wall...)) and Im very fond of the litle spider *points* I fit in. Thats supposed to be face paint, and I think her right eye((The one to the left of the canvas)) is a little bigger than intentionally wanted... Comments, Criticism, and Suggestions are welcome ^.^

Darkrose @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 6:37 AM
OK, yeah so the right eye is a little too big... but this is really good! I like the detail you used putting together the outfit and face markings, and might I say MUCH better use of lineart on this one. The whole thing seems to flow much better, with the thinner lineart and the more detailed shading. Beautiful job. *tickles spider* so cute!

BreeWinde @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 7:24 PM
Very interesting face makeup. Both imaginative and creative. It looks really nice. I like the style of cloak too, where is crosses in the front. Wonderful drow.

Basil @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 7:44 PM
Interesting facial tattoo/markings. I like the red tips to her hair. The spider's web in the background almost looks like scales after a while. o.o Overall, pretty nice picture. Bravo!

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:27 PM
ahhhh i like the spider aswell and i also really like the wall behind it it gives the impression of imperfect stones, the face paint is very neat and i like her hair very much, now for a little bit of a crit, the arms see a little to thin and the chest to hight and thin kinda inporotionate but other than that i love this image. i hope to see more of your art!

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:50 PM
this is really neat ^^ but you need to work on the shadeing more, blending them together.... and the BG is really kool ^^

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 5:21 PM
The shading and hilighting on this pic is weird - it looks kinda watery or glassy - hard to put my finger on it. I like the tilt of her head and the facepaint a lot, though! ^^

Carbuncle @ Tuesday, January 4th 2005, 3:11 AM
yay another drow pic!! yay for you the shading is oksy but it could use some work the tatoo is done in watercolor and looks betterthan the other one the chest is a little high and shoulders are a tad small and where is the light source ? I like the hair it has a kwel look to it and you might want to think about blending your lines a little more... Keep it up !

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 5:28 AM
wow. Almost looks like a butterfly landes on his face. A very interesting marking. And the bg is spooky. the fact that red is the only active warm color really makes you focas on the face. empasizing the odd colored eyes.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:41 AM
You know...there is one thing about this that I noticed right off, and I hate to mention something like this at the beginning of a comment, but her head is a little too big for her body, and her arms are too small. Though I know I tend to have problems with hands...they're either too big or too small...every damn time. The facial tattoo was a nice touch, but some of the edges are still really sharp while others are fairly blurred. I'm going to do the same song and dance I do on so many images...have you ever tried the bezier tool? It helps make the lineart SO much smoother. Then again I do *swear* by the bezier now. lol

Bah. This could have been better in many ways. I had to rush the background because my pinky started hurting REALLY bad...and I attempt to draw with a tablet/pen. Comment, criticisms, suggestions, anything helps ^.^

Tigerhawk @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:55 AM
your moon came out wonderfully. Your shading came out pretty good but you should have also shaded in her hair too ^^ You did a great job on this. Can't wait to see more of your artworks.

Totenmaske @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 8:17 AM
Welcome to Drowkaki! Well personally I don't like to see someone say 'they rushed' a certain segment of an image, because that almost comes across as if they didn't put their best into their post. But you are new, and I personally see some nice little details in this image that suggest that you are endeavoring to improve ? so I?ll do my best to point out what I like and think needs to improved upon. But keep in mind that you must also comment on other individuals works after you post an image I prefer you to comment on 0 images, for each post ? though this is taxing ? try for at least five though. And since this is your first post on the board, try to limit yourself ? don?t want you to start posting an image one after another ? that pushes other artists work down.

But anyway I don?t want to seem like I?m berating you, just have to state that before I continue ;3 ? colouring seems to be okay, there is some real issues though with the background, it does come across rather rushed, and that hurts the image overall. The moon has the touch of texture and the stars to me could have been a little refined.., even though it is acceptable, it could have been a little better. I personally like the slight texturing effect that was brought about through the burning (believe that is what you used) for the segment of the moon on the left side of the canvas.

Character wise, very nice drow, the bit I have trouble with though, is her right arm (on the left side of the canvas) it doesn?t seem to be ?that attached? to the body, and the hand seems too flat considering, The facial expression is interesting and in the end is pleasing, the hair is a little too clumpy ? but I like it, as well as the little use of purple in the hairline, but it doesn?t seem to work as well in the pony tail. The main issue I have with the character is the use of a rather thick line art, what you could try is leaving your line art at 1x and using a lighter pressure, to get the sense of pencil work, play around and you may find an interesting effect being born with the applications you use.

The colouring of the fabric is pleasing though, I like the way you have a nice sense of shear fabric around her shoulders, and to be truthful if you put a little more shading or rather varying colours to show the sense of shadow and light on the character overall you could have brought more depth to her, not to mention the image. The belt is a little weak in details, but this is more of a result of thick line art etc. Truthfully the image is fine for a first post, but I would like you to practice a little with the colouring and the line art before posting again, if you want I can help guiding you to downloading PaintBBS so you could use it offline to sharpen up your skill with the application. I?m not saying ?don?t post,? just thinking practice before next major post would help your growing talent exceptionally. Don?t forget to comment on others btw, I do look forward to future pieces by you. Very promising expression and setup so far ? oh don?t forget if you want to retouch an image you have to use Animation!

Skittles-chan @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 8:45 AM
I actually kind of like the background. It's much better than if you would have left it all one solid colour, anyway. Though I agree the stars are kind of off. If you're doing something in the five-point style, it should probably remain consistant, otherwise do them like you see real stars. Also, it's kind of common to get out of drawing hands by placing them behind the back and such, but it isn't a very natural pose unless she's hiding something, and it won't help you get much practise to improve. Your basic anatomy and shading are pretty good ^^ I like how you've used solids and watercolours, though a few more colours in certain places would certainly add more dimension. Also, the line of the sheer fabric that's behind her could be thinner and/or slightly distorted in some way (dotted), to help illustrate the face that it's transparent; it looks a little awkward as it is.
Anyhow, an overall nice image ^^ I like the childish storybook-illustration feel to it.

Rigga Mortis @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 7:19 PM
She's cute, and that's an interesting outfit. Toten's already mentioned it, but yes, her right arm does look a little odd. The background is pretty, especially the moon; it has a glowy-effect that I find pleasing, and it's nice to see that you carried that out on the rest of the picture, highlighting her clothing accordingly. :D Very nice hair, too, the purple is soft and contrasts to her outfit.

Darkrose @ Thursday, December 30th 2004, 10:15 PM
Ooh, nifty! I like the sheer effect you've got on her shawl thing, very cute. I also like how the background looks like a cloth backdrop like for photography and stuff. Now for some critique: the lines look a little thick and out of place with that delicate watercolor shading you've got. Maybe you could try making the lines thinner, or even in watercolor to smooth the look of the picture out a little bit. Other than that, the anatomy looks pretty sound, detil is a little lacking (mostly because of the overwhelming black lines) but overall it looks pretty good. So welcome and keep going!

oni shi @ Friday, December 31st 2004, 10:30 PM
ahh rushing is a bad habit that i know well hehe try to stay outta rushing things lol, i really like the outfit.

Kamourian King @ Saturday, January 1st 2005, 4:53 PM
this one i like better then your newist one ^^ the shadeing is simple, something i envy....and the moon is awesome ^^

AnimeCanuck @ Sunday, January 2nd 2005, 5:17 PM
This is VERY cute. I love her little outfit, especially the see-through shall. Nice job! ^^

celestial crou @ Wednesday, January 5th 2005, 7:19 AM
Is she sitting on the moon? YOur pic has alot of potential.

Harlequin @ Thursday, January 6th 2005, 5:31 AM
Well, I'm going to keep this short as I have a bad habit of rambling on about nothing in particular in my comments. lol There are two things that I think would improve your art, and probably result in a happy artist panda (yes yes...this means you). First of all...the bezier tool. The best tool ever created...with the exception of maybe 'shadeoff'...blur tool. Bezier makes lines SO much smoother. Even though I have a tablet I *still* rely heavily on the bezier. Why? Well I'll tell you why, it's a SEXY TOOL that's why. lol Ok...so that second thing. Well, thinner lineart when you're trying to get that much character into that little space. If you're doing a close up and there's not a lot of detail, use thick lines if you want, that's all fine and good. But if you're doing a partial body shot like this one, thinner lineart really tends to make the character seem cleaner overall, and the details will really stand out. You seem to have a good understanding of how the applets work already though...and so...ZEES IS GOOD!! lol God damn I need to start sleeping more...bah, just take what I've said as advice, not as "you must draw zees way".

kyokurrychan @ Sunday, January 30th 2005, 5:03 PM
kawaii desu.. ^^ i like it. i love the moon..
